    Caractéristiques du produit

    Add Icon

Great bike, but a couple of things...

    1) The rear derailleur: I have no idea how many times I had to adjust the SRAM SX. This was the first thing that I upgraded. I upgraded to the SRAM GX. However, if you get it tuned just right, it works like a dream. (My friends have the same derailleur on their bike, and for them its working fine, but for me it just was not). 2) The rear shock: Due to the bike having an asymmetrical frame, the rear shock, the X-FUSION Pro RL, is under load unevenly. In short, the seals might burst or break over time. For me, the dust seal got worn out and the shock was leaking oil and loosing air pressure (which is odd). An expert told me that these X-FUSION shocks are prone to that. This happened only 1 and a half months in to riding the bike. I upgraded to the Rockshox Deluxe Ultimate. Other than that, there are not much other things to point out. Everything else is great.

    Fantastic bike

I would give this 5 stars but the Sram Eagle SX components let it down too much. After a ride or two, you end up fiddling with the shifting. I love the bike and the frame is worthy of upgrades. Upgrades so far: Hunt Trail Wide Wheelset SX Dub Crank GX Eagle cassette, chain and derailleur GX Grip Shift PNW Range bar X-Fusion Slide 34 Boost 140 mm fork

Great bike, SX should not exist

When I purchased the stump-jumper I determined that one step up in components (comp) may not suffice, so I decided to buy the base version and upgrade components as they sploded. I can say it's a great bike, but I don't think bike shop manufacturers should sell bicycles with SX group-sets. It's like it has to be just perfectly adjusted to shift right. Eventually I will upgrade the wheels, group-set, and rear shock. At that point, I think it will be quite the stump-jumper, because I like everything else about the bike.

    Great Bike couple issues

Ive had my bike for 1 year now and the entry level parts are not great ive had issues with my front break where it moves into the bar and ive taken it to the shop and the leaver bushings are worn out and connot be replaced. And the sram sx eagle deraileur is great after a service but the clutch looses tightness and the bolt strips easily. But its a great bike other the issues of it, the forks and shock has held up of lots of use and i recommend a rebulid every year when needed, Other than that great starter dual sus bike

    Good bike, but bad gears

I've had my bike for a year now and I think that the specs regarding the entry-level is way to bad. I have had major trouble with the back breaks and needing to bleed them on a regular basis. Not happy at all! Regarding the gears, I feel that I had alot less trouble with the bikes that have a Shimano system. So lately the bike has been more in the garage than on the trails. I guess it is learning money, but really takes the edge of riding the bike.

    Great value but chunky

I've had my stumpy alloy for a month and have had the bike out 10 days. Pros: solid components for the price. Really comfortable on down hill and rolling single track. It's handsome, it's has a dropper post (this is not that common for price point) easy to lock out both front and rear suspension. Travel on both shocks is pretty goldilocks for an average rider Con: the bike is a bit overweight. mine weighs in between 34 and 35 lbs. This is fairly noticeable on long climbs. I'm coming over from a really light hardtail so hoping I get used to it. Conclusion: it's one of the best values in this price range. I picked mine up for 2100 on sale

    Great bike

The bike is very strong such as the wheels withstand lots of abuse and don’t have a single dent or buckle. The trues are very grippy. The handle grips wear out fast and the bike is quite heavy which makes it more reliable. Would recommend going tubeless but the bike is already set up to do that. It is fun riding but have had some problems with the rear shock losing air. Overall it is great value.

    DO it!

I've been hanging on to my 2008 specialized comp mtn bike since new. It finally got to the point where the cost of repairs exceeded the value. So I bought a new one. I hate to say it but yet the technology has changed tremendously since 08. Mountains and trails that I struggled to climb before have become much easier. The brakes are fantastic, the suspension is plush and the smile is wide.

Great bike with a big caveat

Overall, a very good bike. I would recommend for those casual mountain bikers like me. Now, if you like to do your own cable replacements instead of taking the bike to the shop, do NOT go for it. I had to change shifter and dropping post housing (cables). Is an absolute pain... you have to disassembled almost the whole bike to change one of those cables. Want to change the dropped post cable? Need to get rid of the bottom bracket. Need to change the shift housing? Need to disarm the suspension system. LOT of work and special tools needed for a simple job that shouldn't take longer tan 15 mins or 30 mins top.

    Outstanding bike

Amazing bike. Very comfortable and solid. My terrain is very bumpy now with lots of unexpected holes after lots of rains. No problem at all. Very nice climber. I guess thanks to well-thought geometry. All hills very re-concurred one more time. Solid maneuverability on very muddy and slippery parts of route. Fork is rockshox silver. Simply great and enough to enjoy ride. I had lower expectations but in reality it’s way better. Rear shock is great as well. After 2 hours of ride still sense of bottomless like you are driving car with comfortable seat. Handling and cornering is very, very good. I really was impressed. Upgrade brakes to 4 piston right away if you more than 180 pounds. Any other upgrade can wait. I wish to have that as an option. Overall bike is outstanding. Amazing Bike with one possible flaw

Overall this bike has performed very well. I love the SRAM GX system. Shifting is crisp and smooth. Pedaling is very efficient and feels light. The SWAT system is pretty great for holding a tube, and various tools to replace a flat or something. So far the suspension has been great as well. The Float X is definitely my favorite Fox shock, so I love that it is the Float X and not DPX2 or X2. The one thing I would advise is to replace the factory downtube protector and to keep it in the HIGH flip chip setting. There are a LOT of reports of frame damage to the downtube under the protector. I personally havent had any and Ive ridden Palo Duro and Bentonville. I also rode Angel Fire on a borrowed Stumpy Evo last year and no problems. But they do exist, so I would advise to use caution. Overall the bike is amazing in all other aspects. Just be aware of the potential for problems.

    Great frame, comfortable ride.

I’m 58, 6’1” 180 lbs and purchased the S4 version of this bike. Tried the S5 but it just felt too big for me. I’ve ridden it now for almost a year mostly on local single track. I can honestly say that at my age the Stumpjumper has transformed my off road experience. The suspension is very supple and easy to adjust and the brakes have great stopping power and have worked just fine for me. The only issue I had with this bike was the rear derailleur which wasn’t very precise and skipped back and forth between gears a lot no matter how it was adjusted. Being a cheaper derailleur this wasn’t unexpected. I replaced it with a SRAM GX and those issues are gone. That is the only upgrade I would recommend out of the box. Everything else has been fine and I would highly recommend this bike to anyone on a tighter budget who still wants a high quality bike. I would certainly make this purchase again. Loving this bike.

While I really liked the Camber the “slacker” head tube angle and 29r vs 27.5r tired size make it “easier” and funner for an older (58+) rider like me. While I keep my tires on the ground I still like to fly on the trails!

I moved to a dual suspension after riding hard tails for years, I had no idea what I was missing out on. When I get on this thing it behaves just like a dirtbike. Great bike

I am coming from an older mid-tier hardtail but with that in mind I am totally pleased with my decision to go with the Stumpjumper Alloy. I was originally looking at the Comp Alloy but my size was not available online or at my LBS's. It is important to note that while this is the lowest spec Stumpy there is nothing about this bike that feels low spec. Perhaps my LBS set the bike up great but so far I have no complaints about the brakes or the suspension, everything feels as I would expect from a $2,800 bike. I am sure the Fox suspension and brakes on the higher spec models feel better but there is nothing wrong with the way this bike sits. I did replace the rear derailleur out of the box to a GX but for $150 spent I am still well away from the additional $1,200 saved. Unless you already have a base Stumpy save some coin, get this and make it your own while you own it.

    Great for beginners

Prior to owning this bike, I rode a $500ish hardtail into the ground on single track trails. I smiled the whole trail the first time I rode the stumpjumper. While people will complain about the brakes and suspension, this is all relative to what you're coming from. Sure, down the road I may want to upgrade, but if you are like me and coming from a very budget entry level hardtail, you will be very happy with your purchase. While I'm sure the comp has better components, I didn't come from using high-end components, so the x-fusion rear shock and rockshox fork are a blessing for me. Hope this helps!

Amazing frame and handling, dont be fooled by reviews complaining about components, its the base model. Worth every $.

Been riding the Spec SJ Alloy base model for a few months now. Its frame is a bit heavy, very solid and strong, modern feature-rich, aggressive geo and very deft, very smooth handling on DH/XC trail riding. As the base model, some components are wanting. Upgraded the derail/shifter to GX Eagle for 180, worth it. Later upgrading the suspension for about 1k (wait for a good fork / rear shock on sale) and this beast will be fully decked out. Brakes are fine but could use an upgrade later. Overall the frame is awesome. Applied full frame protection ride wrap to guard against and scratches or nicks in the paint. Looks amazing, handles buttery smooth on rough descents. Cant recommend this bike enough if you are ok with upgrading over time. Happy to be riding a very refined full susp bike, a Specialized.

    Solid solution.

Solid bike for entry level and with upgrades lot more. Frame is good one, geometry is up to date and is worth upgrading. I ride various terrain with rocks, roots with technical ups and downs. Geometry work great when going up at traction by these tyres provides a good downhill elements as well. Suspension takes some mind to fit good. It's not possible to get it work perfectly since entry level parts. Brakes will stop you eventually but would not rely on them in most challenging situations so consider upgrading them first. The sx drivetrain is also worth of upgrading since it performers not as expected when needed. Bottom bracket says "xc only. Not for dh or jumping" so I guess this bike is made for xc for first timers.

Solid entry level bike but better to save up

I've had my bike for about 3 months and I've rode it a TON. However after doing a bit more research it does seem to have some cheap components. The rear shock, fork and brakes being the cheaper options. If I could do it again I'd definitely save up and opt for the comp or another bike entirely. I plan to do some serious upgrades, but for the price I'm definitely going to "lose" about $1,000 or so. I'm having a blast with it but can't help but have some buyers remorse

    Pleased overall, but...

I bought my Stumpy Alloy in February, 2021, and have ridden it about 80 times. Good: - The frame on this bike is excellent. - I like the tires, and they have held up well. -The flat black looks great. - I've had no problems with the suspension. Bad: -The brakes on my bike never felt very powerful, and stopped working within a few months -The drivetrain shifts slowly and inaccurately - This is a heavy bike. I think you could do a lot worse, and the frame is definitely good enough to justify upgrading components. That said, if I had it to do over again, I would spend the extra money for a Stumpjumper Comp Alloy. While the $1000 price difference is significant, I had to spend half that much on my new brakes alone. The upgraded brakes, fork, shock, and drivetrain are definitely worth the cost, the bike will weigh less and work better from day one.

The bike has good geo but…

The bike has great geo and is a good trail bike platform to build on. That being said every part on the bike besides preferential parts (grips, bars, stem) is not worth hanging onto and you can likely save money and headache by saving for the model up from this. The fork is OK and the tires are nice. The brakes are near hazardously bad and the rear shock is barely working after a year and a half of use.

    So much to love, and

So much to love, and one thing to hate. Overall this is a great entry into mountain biking. The frame and suspension are excellent for the cost and the wheels and tires a totally solid. It's a super fun bike on a wide array of terrain and trail styles. All that said, the reason a bike this could can cost so little is the cost savings on the drivetrain. The SRAM SX series is notoriously ho-hum, and from day 1 this system has been a headache needing constant attention and adjusting. To be specific, the derailleur is the problem. A day with ample technical downhill will ensure indexing issues, so just be ready to adjust as necessary. So I would recommend this product. But just be aware that a derailleur upgrade may be in your future, and will totally take this bike to the next level for you.

    Does everything asked

As a novice to the sport of mountain biking, I couldn't ask for a better bit of kit. I accept that those really hitting the downhills hard might find the rear suspension a little too basic, but for my needs the capability of the bike well exceeds that of the rider. The ability to upgrade over time is built in, so it's a great starting point to improve the gear as your skills are honed, but I can honestly say that the first month of hitting the trails - some narly blue ones too - has hooked me. In no small part due to the kit under me. Highly recommended!

    Look no further if you

Look no further if you are looking for a phenomenal MTB to grow your riding and future mechanical skills. With so many different brands producing trail bikes, and with so many different people telling you to look elsewhere, there is no better platform to build and ride your perfect bike than the Stumpjumper. The geometry creates a very fun, fast, and surprisingly comfortable ride. Whether you are climbing or descending, this bike can take you wherever you dare to go. Some people have had issues with the components that come with this bike, but I have not had any issues in my first 100 miles. You shouldn't have any issues with the brakes, drivetrain, or dropper as long as you ride safely and have some mechanical sympathy. My LBS is a Specialized dealer, and they were incredibly helpful in determining which sized bike would be best for me. I fell between an S4 and S5, and I had a chance to test ride each size multiple times to see which fit best. If you have the opportunity to test ride, I highly recommend it! I did order my bike from Specialized and had it shipped to my LBS, and the delivery was extremely fast, especially given everything going on with shipping and supply chains. The bike has been incredible, and Specialized's service has been just as good.

Got the Stumpjumper Alloy. Great full-suspension mountain bike. I added a mudguard to the front because the tires really kick up the gravel. The 29-inch wheels handle the trail well. Front fork angle feels a little aggressive with the 29s, so steering took some time to get used to. Overall, feels like a solid quality bike that will withstand years of deep wilderness riding. Love the dropper post. The shipping was fast. Had it delivered to a local bike shop. They assembled it the day it arrived and I picked it up the following day.

    What a headache

I have had this bike for a total of 4 days. My XC hard tail that cost 1/4 of the price of this bike has had less problems than the 2021 stumpjumper alloy, mind you I have had the cheap hard tail for much longer and have taken it on the exact same trails and many more, so I do not believe it is user error. The scram sx eagle group set is very disappointing to say the least has been a headache since I got the bike. I wouldn't recommended spending your hard earned money on the base model stumpjumper as I’m very disappointed in this purchase I have made, wish I would have bought a nicer version of this bike with the upgraded parts.

    Solid all-around trail bike.

Most of my impressions of this bike are on relatively mild hardpack trails with some steep chutes and jumplines mixed in. In these conditions, the bike handles surprisingly well. Even in steep stuff I rarely felt that the brakes didn't have enough power and the modern geo meant so it didn't feel like I didn't have a big enough bike for the terrain. The SRAM SX does it's job well enough given you avoid shifting under load. The bike climbs about as expected, though it could stand to shed a little weight. The main issues with this bike definitely come from the suspension. The fork handles rough terrain pretty well but the lack of compression adjustability left some to be desired. The shock was a shock. I'd really consider replacing it but for now it's better than a hardtail.

    Stump Jumper Alloy

First full suspension coming from a hard tail. Bike handles well after adding a shorter stem. Components are decent and haven’t failed me yet. I’m not sure why I’ve read negative reviews about the rear shock. Works fine for me. I’m no professional DH rider, but I hit some drops and jumps with no problems. I think folks just always want the higher end stuff and really don’t need it. Have someone help you setup your suspension and I’m sure you’ll be fine. I will say the bike is a tad heavy. You don’t feel it going downhill, but a smidge on the way up. Overall, I’m happy with it. It’s in my budget and the geometry is perfect for me on the S3 (5’10). We’ll probably upgrade wheels and BB/cranks to shave some weight later. Rcking

Great fun, but needs upgrades for heavy use

This bike is a *huge* amount of fun to ride; the geometry is perfect and the adjustable frame is a very useful bonus. It's comfortable uphill and down, and tears up dry rocky descents. It is, however, best suited to people who don't mind making upgrades over time. The Tektro brakes, rear shock and hefty powerspline crankset do the job, but that's about all you can say in their favour. (The tyres are also great on stony slopes but terrible if you ride a lot in the mud.) If you don't mind buying add-ons, this bike is a good choice. Although at 8 months and two major upgrades in, I am wondering if I should have took a loan and gone for the comp.
