Pretty Amazing Ride

I researched a number of bikes before deciding to go with the Turbo Vado SL 4. The crimson red / black is an awesome color combination (looks much more awesome in person). I've had the bike since April and am totally impressed. I've been a Trek fan for years but they did not have anything close to this. Still super light at 31 pounds for an ebike which isn't much heavier than some of my hybrids. I wanted a lighter ebike which still allows a good workout. This is it! I typically ride 50-75 miles a week. This bike has allowed me to reduce ride times by approximately 1/3 so I'm interested in longer rides. I did purchase the range extender which while expensive is well worth it. Was honestly more than I wanted to spend but well worth it. Could use another gear or two for flat or downhill riding. If you're thinking about it take one for a test ride and you'll probably be sold.

It’s put the smile back on my face.

I’ve had my Vado sl4 for just under a year now and I just love it. I’m nearly 70 now and for the previous year I was starting to duck out of some of the rides with my mates. They were too long or too hilly and I was making excuses for not going with them. I bit the bullet and bought the Vado 4 SL I use the battery as little as possible so most of the time I’m riding a relatively heavy bike with no assist. Some rides I can do 100k and only use 4 of the 10 bars. Other rides I can use 8 bars but have only rode 40k. It all depends on the terrain. At 10 months of ownership I was having problems with the switch and contacted the dealership in Ings in the Lakedistrict. They said to fetch it in and they would sort it. They are changing the switch and the motor under warranty . But excellent service that cannot be faulted. A interesting aside . Because my bike was in for repairs I went out on my ordinary road bike with my mates. I kept up with them mother. John

A year Later

After a year and a few adjustments and I have found the perfect riding position and comfort. The Bike is fast and feels very steady on the downhill. Yes I do wish there was one more gear for the downhill. Otherwise I am pleased with the build quality and very little maintenance. I replaced my front and rear break pads after a year of daily riding. I always feel in control even in the wet and full downpour. I have ridden a regular street bike in the past and will probably never go back to a non assisted bike. Because I have to paddle and enjoy to push all the time, I still get a very good workout, but am about twice as fast and am able to go further distances. The bike is light enough to carry up and down the stairs without any issues. The only major down side is that the matte black does scratch up quite easily. So be aware of that. All in all I am happy. The Plus: It is fast, sturdy and reliable. The Minus: It could use another gear or two for the downhill.

Great E- Bike

This is my very first E bike I bought the Vado SL 4.0 after many months of research. I shop at Oro Valley bike shops in Tucson and I talked with the owner and other people who had different models I came back to this one and I wasn't disappointed. It's not as heavy as other bikes, and I prefer pedal assist, The paint job is excellent I love the burgundy color. It gives me just enough assist going up small Hills or large Hills it's excellent on a windy days, And the bike makes me want to ride more and longer.

Yes I would buy another but this one's enough.

A fantastic bit of kit for the money, just the right amount of assistance to help with the hills, good battery life and with the control of power every ride is a pleasure.

Couldn't be happier

This is my first ebike and I'm not sure I could've made a better choice. Bought it mainly for fitness and it handles like a dream. There's zero resistance when you don't have the motor on so you never have to worry about getting stuck. The bike is super comfortable to ride, stealthy and fast. The electric assist feels a lot more natural than every other ebike I've tried and the app that comes with it is handy for tuning exactly how much assist I want for each level. For the guys that can't figure out how to turn off the lights when charging, just plug it in and when it turns on, hit the power button and it'll turn off the lights. Easy as that.

The perfect ebike for both fun and exercise.

I'm very happy with my purchase of the Vado SL 4.0. I've had it for a week now and have ridden it everyday. The responsiveness is so impressive compared to my previous ebike. Specialized really has done something good putting this bike together. The best part about the bike is I can get a great workout or I can have just a good fun ride. The motor is smooth and you can barely hear it while you're riding. In my opinion the best overall ebike out in the market currently.

Almost perfect.

First time riding an ebike. Great experience. Helps with my daily commute. I have one issue that kept me from giving it a 5star rating is that there is no instruction (or way) to turn off the lights. It heats up during the day and is of no use. Its driving my OCD crazy

Passing road riders with minimal effort

I used to ride a Roubaix, and put that bike through the paces for years. Over time, I stopped riding. But with this bike I can commute, outpace the road riders in Central Park, and generally have a blast zipping around pretty quickly. It's been a fantastic experience so far.
