what a ride!
At 77 years old and living in hilly island country, I thought my selection of trails would be limited. My Tero 5 goes anywhere! I am riding between 30 and 50 miles every day, with no limits on where I can go. My issues are: 1.the battery often sticks in the case and I have to jiggle things a bit to get it loose; 2. the lettering on the computer is too small to read easily- even with good eyesight. As for wishes: I would like a larger chainring for peddling higher speeds- the best I can get out of it is 22.5 mph. before it free wheels. a great bike!

Outstanding!
Purchased Tero 5.0 class 3 in Aug. 23. At 73 years old I love the 4x me power to get up the many hills in the PNW. I'm mostly on pavement, but there's a major gravel trail not far from the house that's about 10 miles long that I use occasionally.
I swapped out the tires for a more friendly pavement and gravel tire. I also swapped out the 36T chainring for a 44T and at 70 RPM pedaling I can achieve 23 MPH very easily.
Not many mountain bike trails in my vicinity without transporting the bike and traveling. The 36T ring was just not enough for pavement use.
I also have a Turbo Vado SL 5.0 that is 2x me and is a bit more work, but is much lighter at 31 lbs. instead of the 50 lbs. of the Tero 5.0. Both are a lot of fun and I hope to be riding for more years to come.

Awesome bike!
Awesome all around bike! Very stable and reassuring off-road manners. Also I use it in town. A versatile commuter and weekend woods bike all in one. Great battery life, been on 5 sprints in my neighborhood and 2 18 mile rides with plenty left to do another 35 miles of riding. I am a large man, concerned about range while carrying my weight and Specialized took away my anxiety. Also one of the few available with an extra large frame available. Looking forward to many more miles and smiles.

Solid build, great range, love
Solid build, great range, love the display except when I clean my bike while upside down. The display will hit the ground. I just need to prop up the handlebars.

This bike was a great
This bike was a great way to get back into trail riding after a 20 year break! It handles really well, and the ability to dial in the amount of assist you want is top tier. It’s also been a great occasional alternative to my work commute which is 36 miles round trip. I could lean on the batter much harder than I have and still not needed to charge the battery at work…an absolute game changer. If you’re like me and wand want to get out and enjoy nature(and you are not a downhill bomber), I can’t think of a better fit than this bike. If I could change anything, it might be the mounting hole positions under the top tube…this was by no means a deal-breaker for me though. This was my first e-bike purchase and I had serious concerns about buyer’s remorse after getting it…happy to report those concerns no longer exist!

Great bike!
I have been waiting for a hard tail eMTB from Specialized to be available. I got the Tero 5.0 XL. So much power and so smooth to ride. I am a bigger guy, 6'4", 290 lbs. This bike feels solid and fits me great. I changed out the tires to 2.6 Butchers front and back, they fit and ride great. My wife has had the Levo SL for a while now, finally I will be able to keep up!

Love this bike! Unless you
Love this bike! Unless you really think you need all that extra suspension, or want to spend $2000+ more, this bike is the answer for a budget. Great bike for the money. The only nit is the SRAM Shifters and Brakes, they work fine and all, just not as nice as Deore, IMHO. I would recommend this product to anyone interested a serious mountain bike without all the extra suspension. It's a pleasure to ride.

Super fun bike!
This bike is great around town as well as on singletrack. Keep in mind that this is a class 1 rated bike so it is not meant for big drops or super gnarly stuff. It can take some rocky trails though no problem. Consider this bike your swiss army knife of bikes. It does a little bit of everything decently well. It is a great townie bike as well as a great off road / gravel/ single track bike as long as you are riding blues and greens. Definitely not a black or double black kind of bike, but that is not its intended use. I ride it around pretty much everywhere and have a blast. On a recent whim I decided to go ride some local trails that allow e-bikes after riding downtown and did 4500+ feet of climbing on a mix of trail and turbo mode and still had battery left to spare. Great all arounder for class 1 type riding. If you are going to only have one bike and you like mixed surfaces and you don't want to get too rowdy off road this is the bike for you.

Exactly what I've been waiting for
This bike is exactly what I've been waiting for - smooth pedal assist, exactly enough power, great range & endurance, and smooth sleek finished look on the frame & body. The software in this bike is also a differentiating factor for me, I'm a big fan of the 'Smart Control' software and the seemless connectivity with my armband heart rate monitor, prefer the rearview mirror on shades over the Garmin radar addon (but how cool is it that this bike's display system supports radar to detect objects approaching from behind. After comparing this bike to others in it's class & price range, all that was left for me was the test drive it, hands down the best bike for me (based on my weight and riding preferences). LOVE THE BIKE!

The Tero 5 is ridiculously
The Tero 5 is ridiculously fun, it's my new favorite bike.
It looks beautiful and the screen interface looks great, even in direct sunlight conditions. It rides very smooth, the tires and suspension are top notch.
It has a huge battery pack which allows you to ride for many hours on a single charge, even in intense uphill conditions. I'm a relatively big guy (~210lbs) and I can easily get 80 miles of range in good conditions, and 40+ on crazy steep mountainous rides.
Overall: this thing is just ridiculously fun to ride. It feels good, looks great, and has fantastic assist for whatever you want to do: casual biking, intense mountain rides, or anything in between. I'd highly recommend it.

All in all, this is
All in all, this is pretty good bike and I'm happy with it. Its appearance is excellent, although I wish there were other paint color and design options. The features are excellent. The motor is more powerful than I anticipated and is really torky going uphill. The battery capacity is good, but both power and range can always be better. Speed tops out about 20MPH on flat tarmac, which is plenty for trails but I don't always ride trails so it would be great to give it a boost to 25 or 30 MPH. This bike is a solid, well-built and seemingly reliable package with everything you need to enjoy dirt or tarmac.

Fun, but overpowered!
It's very fun to ride, especially downhill with the dropper post. The motor is incredibly powerful, and I'm eternally thankful for the ability to adjust the motor on the fly in 10% increments...most of my riding is in the 10-20% power range, saving higher levels for hills and when I do that I can easily get 60-70 miles of range out of it. It's a heavy bike, a bad choice if you need to carry it up stairs, but that weight and the tire width makes it a very easy bike to ride. A slight bummer the assist caps out at 20mph. All in all, though, it was easily worth the price for me, which does say a lot since it ain't cheap.

Wrong Wacky Wally
I agree with Tom. Wacky Wally is mistaken. The Tero 5.0 is not a remake of the Vado. I live in the mountains of Colorado at 8000’ and ride up and down these mountains and trails at least 30 to 50 miles a week. Also use the Tero for commuting. The Tero wasn’t designed to be a full on competition mtb, but is a very capable cross breed able to handle both boon docking and commuting. I couldn’t be happier with the Tero and the design.

Turbo Tero 5
This is a very capable mountain bike with a lot of power. Surprisingly agile for a bike of this size and weight. It makes mountain biking fun. With the versatile modes and programming you can still get a very good workout with killing yourself climbing. I'm glad I bought it!
