2021 Turbo Como 4.0 650b – Low-Entry

Whether you're heading out with the family for a weekend cruise, grabbing a baguette at the local bakery, or simply going off to work, the Turbo Como 4.0 with a Low-Entry design will get where you're going in stylish comfort.

Beginning with the integrated Specialized 1.2 motor, the Turbo Como proves itself as the ultimate city bike. The 1.2 motor features a silent operating design with our Custom Rx Street Tune that takes the output and makes it the most usable for an urban environment. Think of it this way: The more power you put out, the more power the motor puts out, and this makes accelerations from a standstill both quick and efficient. The belt driven motor is also smooth, silent, and free of annoying vibrations. And the max speed? 28mph.

For the Como 4.0, we developed a custom Specialized U1-500 battery that seamlessly integrates into the frame, is lockable, and easily removable for simplified charging. In other words, there's plenty of juice to take you to and from work, a trip to the grocery store, or even to that new café on the other side of the city. If you wish to see exactly how far you can go on a charge, have a look at our Turbo Range Calculator for more exact estimates.

The new wired Turbo Connect Display (TCD-w) is the best way to view data on your Turbo. It not only displays important ride metrics (speed, cadence, rider power, distance, battery level, time, etc.), it also allows you to connect the latest version of the Mission Control App for an enhanced Turbo experience. With our free app for iOS and Android phones, you easily customize motor parameters, control your range, record/upload rides, and perform basic system diagnosis.

For this model, we included a low-entry design with our Ground Control Geometry that makes it easy to put a foot down at a stop sign, while also eliminating the struggle of getting on and off the bike. The agile 650b wheels, meanwhile, have also been paired with cushy 2.3-inch tires, so they can roll over most cracks, bumps, and holes with ease to ensure that nothing stands in your way on your path to a good time. And to top off all of these innovative features, we chose a worry-free spec. Along these lines, you'll find Shimano 10-speed components, powerful hydraulic disc brakes, front/rear lights, and fenders.

Amazing Bike

This is the best bike ever! Super fun to ride and so smooth. The pedal assist is so seamless, riding is a breeze. Good for both pleasure ride and commuting. Sadly mine was stolen but I cherish the time I had with it! Everyone needs to have a really good lock and bike insurance for this bike as they are targets of theft.

Beachy Keen E-Bike Cruising Awaits!!!

After some very pleasant rides in a somewhat hilly mountainous area, I found that this Specialized e-bike stood out over the rest in comfort (and unexpectedly style too). I originally though as most people have that the step thru frame style was a bit “Girly” LOL. It turns out that this is not true in more contemporary thinking as it is a matter of personal comfort and accessibility to all genders and walks of life. For the price range, the accessories and components are all top notch of reputable brands. The electronics are easy to use and more user customized setting options are also available if one is so inclined. Love the mint green frame color and smooth secure battery integration into the frame. Love the front and rear hydraulic disk breaks. The level of riding comfort and stance is also quite pleasant. Happy Riding To All Readers of this Review!

a lot of fun !!

fun bike to ride very comfortable with the cup seat. a couple issues: the light is not very bright, dimmer than the como 5.0 not good for night at speeds this bike is capable of. lights up less than 30 feet ahead. fenders are somewhat an improvement since they're longer but the front one rattles on semi-rough surfaces because the are riveted instead of bolted at thin support braces. front fender was also mounted too high into fork making it rattle against it.

Everything I Expected But

This bike gives you a huge grin the ride around on and the mint green color is awesome. I'm shocked by how smoothly this bike glides uphill at solid paces without much effort pedaling. This is a great commuter bike if you're trying to cut down on the windshield time, while showing up to places not drenched in sweat. Only con is the kickstand broke under the weight of the bike on a slightly uneven surface... which I'd imagine is pretty common for people with ebikes as they are probably purchased to be used in hilly areas.

Definitely worth the money

Like another reviewer, I am sad when the weather isn't good enough for me to ride. I bought the Turbo Como 4.0 (mint green) in September 2020 and have ridden almost every day in nice weather. I've gone from riding about 11 miles to regularly 18-23 and I especially love riding on hilly country roads. This bike does fine on dirt roads as well as paved ones. I live in a hilly part of the country. My typical ride will use anywhere from 60-70% of the battery starting at 100% charge. The only thing I don't like is that it is heavy, but that is the trade-off for an e-bike. I haven't yet figured out the best way to transport it without having to buy a hitch and special rack. I would like to be able to take the front wheel off and put it in my car, but it is too heavy and awkward. If you do that, watch that the brake handles don't scrape up your car, which is what happened to me. They are quite sharp. In fact, one of them keeps scraping up the wall next to it in my garage. These are minor issues though, I truly love this bike! I would not be riding on all these hills without it!

Too much fun to ride!!

Do not buy this bike! It will be too much fun to ride! When you are away from it, you will be too sad because you miss it. This will make you cry. Seriously. Any day I can't ride my Como 4.0, becomes a bad day. I had to travel for over two months and was down the entire time because it was not possible to take my bike. Every time I rode a borrowed clunker, it felt like death. This will happen to you if you buy this bike and can't ride it some days. Can you handle how depressing that will be? If not, don't buy this bike. I love my Como so much that I bought matching mint clothing and bike shoes. Bystanders clap with joy when this fashionista granny flies by them with ease. This Como is parked in my living room so I can admire it when not on it. Warning: this bike is too fast for many riders. Sometimes you will have to hang on for life. Are you really up for this??
