We created the endurance road category two decades ago proving that high ergonomics means high performance. Today, the new Roubaix SL8 with Future Shock 3.0 is lighter, faster, and smoother than any road bike ever made, unleashing unmatched confidence. The road may be hell below, but on Roubaix, it’s always heaven above.

  • COMPLIANCE: Future Shock 3.0 is the star of the show, more tunable, adjustable, and durable than ever. Now, regardless of position on the bike, every rider experiences 20mm of smooth, stiction-free travel between the stem and head tube. Future Shock helps keep your hands and bars steady for a smoother ride with more control to stay fast, safe, and confident.

  • Our dropped clamp design exposes more seatpost to increase deflection, but “more” isn’t simply better. The Pavé seatpost controls that deflection for the optimal vertical compliance. Together they create AfterShock technology, and when paired with the Roubaix’s rigid rear triangle, deliver a smooth ride with no loss in efficiency.

  • The Roubaix SL8 is the smoothest road bike our Ride Science Team has ever tested—reducing impacts at the bars and saddle by 53% vs. the nearest competition. With Roubaix’s Future Shock 3.0 the wheel quickly moves over the bump, while rider mass remains stable, maintaining momentum in rough terrain. Typical forks deflect backward on impact, causing a measurable loss in speed. It’s a scientific fact, smoother is indeed faster.

  • CAPABILITY: The Roubaix pioneered endurance geometry, so you ride “IN” the bike, not “ON” the bike to relieve pressure on your hands, arms, and shoulders for capability and confidence on any road, yet it’s ready to dissect a mountain decent at full gas. Snuggle up.

  • With tire clearance up to 40mm, this endurance road machine delivers better traction than ever on rough roads and even light gravel. Thanks to lightweight, super-efficient Specialized tires, that extra tire volume and traction comes with no downsides.

  • Roubaix inspires really BIG days on the bike, so we’ve given it every mount your adventures could need—three bottle mounts, top-tube mounts, and it’s even fender-ready. So, go ahead and bring it all along for the ride.

  • PERFORMANCE: The new Roubaix SL8 is our most aero yet, with new aero shapes from our Free Foil library and dropped seat stays. At just 950 grams, the frame is lighter, utilizing lessons learned from the Aethos - the world’s lightest production frame - and Fact 10r carbon blend. Nothing in its class is faster or lighter than the Roubaix.

Great bike!

I just purchased the Roubaix SL8 base model and love it! I'm 66 and had recently undergone having both hips replaced and wanted to get back into cycling. The roubaix fit the bill perfectly! The price was in my budget and the performance and comfort are outstanding. I'm now riding 3 days a week and love being back on a bike. I would recommend this model to anyone looking for a competent road bike that is also both comfortable and gorgeous to look at!

I liked my old one better

This is my second Roubaix and there have been a lot of modifications that I don't really like. The Future Shock provides some cushion, but you lose sensitivity to the road. I didn't like the Hover Comp handlebars because it makes you too upright, and the Power Sport seat felt like sitting on a safety cone, so I changed those out. My bike came with the ETAP drivetrain, and it's fine, but not worth splurging on. I'll use it, but I can see moving on from it sooner than later.

Quality ride

The Roubaix base model is a good quality ride. I've put 200 miles on it and I'm really enjoying it. Its very comfortable and a pretty fast bike. The future shock system makes bad roads considerably more bearable. If I were to put 40mm tires on it would probably be a better gravel bike than my gravel bike. Its my road bike though and I feel confident I can pretty much keep up with any group of riders I might care to join. Highly recommend.

I really enjoy this bike

This bike is hard to put down. It has made me buy cold weather cycling gear (got frostbite as a young man stationed in Alaska) so now winter is no longer my BFF. But this bike is makes me want to ride, even in the cold. I rode it yesterday (Christmas morning) because I knew most people would be with family so the bike would be less crowded. I was right, it was great (cold) but great. I firmly stand by my first review titled "Come on Spring", lol. Specialized, you did good! Scott D

Good bike but but poor customer service.

I purchased my Roubaix SL8 earlier this year and have loved every minute riding it. It is equally suited to road riding as it is on gravel roads. Super comfy ride and looks fantastic. Unfortunately I have had a problem with the futureshock 3. 0 which specialized aren't willing to help with. The hex bolt inside the futureshock that needs to be removed to change the springs and tensioners has worn out on my futureshock after only a few uses meaning I cannot change the spring or tensioners any more. When I contacted Specialized to try and source a new bolt I was told I would need to replace the entire future shock. In the UK that would cost about £400 to replace when all I need is one new bolt. I think it's poor Specialized don't stock this part and also poor that they won't replace it when the bike was so new. I've really enjoyed my Roubaix but it makes it hard to recommend given the poor customer care after having spent £6,000 on a bike.

Come on spring!

Just got my Roubaix last week, mid Nov! I am very impressed with the manufacturing process used for the carbon fiber, I know enough about the process to know they used industry leading technology. The bike is visually appealing as well, from every angle. But what everyone wants to know is how does it ride. VERY NICELY. It's light, fast, nibble, stops and accelerates quickly. The Future Shock technology works well, and the saddle/seatpost flex does lessen the impact of the 50+ year old roads I rode on. I recommend this bike to anyone who wants to enjoy their time on a bike Scott D

Still a bliss, 6 months down the road!

Its has been a blissful summer indeed! Sadly, I will have to put this guy on a trainer for another 6 months. After several rides in various weather conditions, this bike is still the best ride I've ever experienced. Despite its noticeable weight (upgrading the wheels would be a good idea), this is a swift, fluid and responsive machine that will also make you look good on hilly terrain. Getting used to the cassette was a challenge so considering a change to a more compact one. All in all, could not have made a better choice!

Roubaix SL8

At 67, having just entered retirement, I decided to purchase a bicycle, and that's essentially the whole story. I am thoroughly pleased with my choice of the Roubaix SL8 series and would suggest it to anyone in search of an affordable, high-quality carbon fiber road bike. I tried out several gravel bikes, but they seemed heavy and slow. However, the moment I tested the Roubaix, I was captivated by its performance from the very first pedal stroke. It provides an excellent ride, and even at my age, I appreciate the speed it offers with ease. If you're considering a road bike that's economical, do give the Roubaix series a chance.

Best ride ever

I have always had pure thoroughbred road bikes all my life so when the time came to change my ten years old aluminum-Tiagra bike, I was also overwhelmed by all the choices and by the hybridization of traditional bike categories. Then came the Roubaix SL8 and what a pleasant surprise it was. After only a couple of rides, I knew right away I would be making one with this beautiful machine. The smoothest ride I’ve ever felt with no compromise on performance whatsoever. Just want to spend more time on it! Would recommend 100%.

Roubaix SL8 - Beginner cyclist

As a brand new cyclist diving into the world of carbon road bikes, I was a little overwhelmed by all the choices. I knew I wanted comfort and a bike that wouldn't break the bank, and let me tell you, the Roubaix SL8 hit the sweet spot. First off, this bike is gorgeous. But the beauty goes way beyond the surface. The minute I hopped on, I was impressed by the smooth ride. The Future Shock 3.0 really is a game-changer, especially for a beginner like me. It absorbs all the bumps and road chatter, making those longer rides much more enjoyable. This bike feels perfectly comfortable and confidence-inspiring, which is exactly what I need as I build up my endurance.

Just like Sepp…the hype is real!

This guy…mind blowing. I’m not even sure where to start. I thought my Allez was a work of art, this guy is a masterpiece. I took this guy out for his maiden voyage 12 hours after he came home. Took him to my “go to” trail…I know this trail. I wanted something that I knew because I wasn’t sure how he was going to handle…what little weird things were going to “pop up”. A mile into the ride, the weirdest thing that “popped up” was how well he handled. He handles like a masterpiece. Corners, acceleration, standing, sitting, stopping, doing tiny little figure 8’s at slow speeds, this guy floats on air. Truly “Heaven Above”. This will be my last bike – I think. IF I do ever buy a new bike, which is doubtful – it will be another Roubaix…there will be no other bikes for me.
