Art Meets Legacy at Red Bull Rampage

Tune in to Red Bull Rampage and enter to win one of these pieces of mountain bike history.

Specialized and Troy Lee Designs have teamed up to create three custom Red Bull Rampage–inspired Stumpjumper 15 frames, rideable art pieces that honor both the roots of mountain biking and the raw creativity of its most legendary event.

Each hand-painted frame carries a piece of Rampage within it — literally. The paint mixes include dirt collected from the 2025 Red Bull Rampage site, blending art, heritage, and terrain into a one-of-a-kind expression of the sport’s evolution.

Only one of the three custom frames will ever be released to the public.

Four Decades of Progression

When the first Stumpjumper rolled out in 1981, it wasn’t just a new bike — it was a whole new sport. Fifteen generations later, the Stumpjumper 15 remains a benchmark for modern trail performance. Just as Red Bull Rampage has pushed freeride to new creative heights, the Stumpjumper has continued to define what’s possible on two wheels.

This collaboration connects those two legacies — the birthplace of mountain biking and its most extreme expression — by celebrating the creativity, courage and craftsmanship that drive both.

The Design

Every detail of these frames tells a story, not just of design but of place.

It began with Troy Lee’s hand-drawn sketches, inspired by the dramatic sandstone cliffs and cosmic desert light that define the Rampage venue.

Those drawings became blueprints for his art team at Troy Lee Designs, who transformed concept into craft one brushstroke at a time.

In a nod to Rampage’s raw terrain, real dirt from the 2025 site was mixed directly into the paint, literally embedding the mountain into each frame. That earthy pigment laid the foundation for a finish that’s as alive as the landscape itself.

Next came the layers. Spray-painted gradients built the desert base tones, while hand-painted cosmic details and fine brush textures gave each frame depth and dimension. Finally, the team applied custom decals and graphics designed exclusively for this collaboration, echoing the artwork from the 2025 Troy Lee Designs Red Bull Rampage Collection.

From concept sketch to final clear coat, no two frames are alike, each one a unique reflection of freeride’s most legendary stage.

Specialized Athletes at Rampage

As the custom Stumpjumper 15 frames celebrate the spirit of freeride through art and heritage, two Specialized athletes are carrying that same creativity to Red Bull Rampage 2025 with fully custom designed bikes.

Each build combines personal storytelling with performance-driven design — two one-off machines that blur the line between art and aggression.

Calm in Chaos

Chelsea Kimball

Specialized Demo

For Chelsea Kimball, Rampage represents balance through the ability to find focus in the middle of the mayhem. Her custom Demo draws from this theme, merging metal and desert to reflect calm in chaos.

The concept blends the mechanical and the organic. The maroon base is wrapped in bold death metal–inspired typography, visible from far across the canyon. The lettering nods to Utah’s jagged desert plants, while the color palette — Desert Rose, Pale Pink, Bordeaux Metallic, and Black — captures both grit and serenity.

Even the finer details carry meaning: her “Just Send It” graphic channels the raw imperfection of stick-and-poke tattoos, while her helmet and jersey echo the bike’s visual rhythm. The result is a cohesive look that embodies confidence, chaos, and control.

The Women’s event livestream will air on Friday, October 17th 10:30AM MDT

Precision Meets Power

Szymon Godziek

Specialized Demo

Polish freerider Szymon Godziek brings a different kind of energy to Rampage; powerful, technical, and unmistakably bold. His custom Demo channels that intensity through striking graphics and color blocking made for pure visual impact.

The design draws inspiration from Szymon’s childhood foam pit, the place where he first learned to push limits. The bike’s grid pattern reflects those foam blocks, while the slash marks that cut across the frame echo the wear and tear that came from years of trial, error, and progression. It’s a visual tribute to the foundation that shaped his riding and the skills he now brings to Rampage’s biggest stage.

The paintwork balances aggressive geometry with refined metallic accents, mirroring Szymon’s riding style: explosive yet controlled. Every line and layer of his bike’s design reinforces the artistry of freeride, celebrating the precision it takes to make chaos look effortless.

The Men’s event livestream will air on Sunday, October 19th 10:30AM MDT
