The Hemisphere is a modern, versatile, and durable trekking tire with tough Flak…
We deliver! Just say when and how.
The Hemisphere is a modern, versatile, and durable trekking tire with tough Flak Jacket puncture protection and a bold tread that delivers control on loose surfaces. This tire's serial center blocks roll easily on paved surfaces, while also providing off-road traction through wide-spaced shoulder blocks that bite into soft ground. Altogether, the Hemisphere will excel on streets and bike paths alike.

Bought a set of Specialized Hemisphere tires to replace the "original" set when I bought my Specialized Crossroads bike. The original tires that came on the bike were Olympus. They lasted many years with varied terrain usage. Mostly paved bike trails and some packed dirt/gravel trails. I was looking for a similar tread/type tire and found these Hemispheres. They have a VERY similar tread pattern, and these tires are puncture resistant as well. The tread is aggressive enough for some off road use like packed sand/dirt and gravel. The additional internal" armor" helps to insure high puncture resistance. They are not any heavier then the original tires. I also put a lot of miles on tires using my stationary bike stand during bad weather and winter months. The tread allows me to get good "resistance" on the "fluid stationary trainer" without unnecessary force on the tire, which prematurely can wear the tire. These Hemisphere tires provide a smooth and confident grip on the road. Even wet roads are no issue with this tire/tread pattern. I would highly recommend these tires.
These are great tires that go anywhere, but they are very heavy (due to the added puncture protection). That being said, they do not drag on pavement and work well on hardpack, trails, pea gravel/rail trails, and paved bike paths.
I had some very nice and expensive tires on my CX bike, I ride gravel and a ton of badly maintained urban streets (Atlanta) - I'm on the bike 3-4 days per week. My $$$ tires get flats every 2-3 weeks. So, I got the hemispheres hoping it would help with flats. I was a bit worried since I figured the Hemisphere's wouldn't handle well and be very heavy. Wow, I was wrong, these are great tires. they handle predictably at speed on turns, they have low rolling resistance, AND you can run them on very low pressure as well. On gravel they have been great, I did a 45 mile rough and wet gravel ride and the performed just as good as my expensive "gravel" tires. I'm at 1000 miles and no flats and minor tread wear. Loving these tires!
NO ROLLING RESISTANCE!!! Wow. Put this on the back and went for a ride… I was going a couple kms/hr faster and couldn’t even hear the tires on a quiet street. Tonnes of traction on the sides and top edges when needed. Little angle on the bike and it’s like riding on the Crossroads tire. Good on hard pack and lots of traction in long grass.
Love the tires and the price. I've bought two different sets from specialized and both have been fantastic.
Ordered a set and one tire has a bad bead, it already separated from the tire. Now I know why it wouldn’t seat properly. Unfortunately, have to purchase another one. They’re really nice tires, and I like their performance, but I don’t recommend purchasing online for issues like bad tire beads. Easier to go to bike shop and choose a tire directly in stock.
Excellent service and tires handle road and light trails really well. Will buy again.
Fast service and a good product
These tires are great. I put them on my old school mountain bike to use in the city and on gravely off road near a canal. I first tried a pair of Maxxis. They did not fit on my rim well and were a little wobbly. But this pair by performance were just what I was looking for. I like that they have a smooth and quiet sound when I peddle around our neighborhood. I also like that I am riding on a small line due to the tread pattern.
Excellent grip, but it won’t slow you down. Soft ride feel. Highly recommended!
Great tire for roads, paved trails and smooth gravel/dirt trails. Not the best choice for rough or soft terrain. Low rolling resistance, low noise.
A bit on the heavy side, tire provides a grippy fast rolling platform for your rides.
These tires are awesome. I replaced a set of Specialized Nimbus Sports because I wanted to turn my ’91 Stumpjumper into more of a gravel-style bike. Great traction on dirt, as well as wet and dry pavement. They roll very smoothly and look pretty cool too. Definitely tougher looking than in the website pictures.
It works for my wife’s 26’er MTB that is ridden on paved trails 🤙
I would buy this again when my tires wear out. I had no issues ordering this from the company and will do it again. Since my Specialized Hardrock been though hell and back since i gotten it back in 2001 and is still a ticking to this day when brought from The spoke shop in Billings Montana.
I was able to get the specialized item I needed at a reasonable price and reasonable timing.
Great for street and easy trail riding
Nice solid tire
These tires worked great on pavement and gravel roads.
I goofed and put on new tires from a box store. Even at max pressure my bike felt like I was riding in mud. Two weeks later I got these for my 90’s hard rock. Much better street riding. I will use the box store ones for crafts; not good for much else. Get good tires or, get a cheaper bike.
Love the tires so far. Been riding on them for 3 weeks, 20 to 25 miles a day. Roll nicely in the street, yet still have enough traction for the park trails.
Bought this product to replace original equipment on a Specialized CrossRoads. The ""originals"" still held air, but the yellowed and crumbling sidewalls had me a little worried. The new tires are great, and I'm much more confident on them at speed.
Love these tires. Finally had to replace them after years of use. Finally got a flat lol. I ride the NYC streets and not getting a flat for years is unheard of. These tires are VIGOROUS.
I bought one of these as a quick replacement for much needed transportation. After mounting the tire and riding it several miles in the rain and cold on gravel, smooth and broken pavement, I discovered I really like the feel, ride and overall performance of the tire. I recently ordered (3) more of these tires, (2) for my wife's bike and a replacement for the front of my bike. Excellent tire for the money and a bargain in today's market, especially considering the performance.
I have over 6,000 miles on these tires. They are the original tire on my bike and I will not use anything else!! NOTE: We only ride rails to trails - very little to 0 road riding.
I have a comfort bike for around town, rail trail and canal side riding. These tires roll smoothly on pavement. Wet pavement is not an issue with these tires as they channel the water away quite well. They are great on dirt/gravel trail side paths as well. The shoulder blocks compliment well with the rail/canal trail terrain. I am on my second set. I have had no issue with punctures on either set. These have become my preferred tire.
Good for getting around.
