Whether your goal is to escape on gravel back roads, far from cars and crowds, toe the start line at your first gravel race, or simply get the most versatile bike on the road or dirt, no bike is better than the new Diverge. It's quite simply the fastest, most capable - and just maybe the most fun - alloy bike we've ever made, delivering a ride that's quick and lively, but stable and confidence inspiring when the terrain gets rough. With all-new gravel geometry and category leading tire clearance, the new Diverge represents everything we've learned over more than 40 years of riding road, gravel and dirt. The Diverge writes an entirely new chapter in the gravel bike category, so you can dream up entirely new rides. It's the ultimate getaway vehicle.

With a premium E5 alloy frame and a full carbon FACT fork the Diverge E5 delivers a fast, confident and comfortable ride on road, in the dirt, and over thick gravel. Shimano’s Claris 2x8 group gives a wide range of gears for any terrain, while Axis Elite alloy wheels and Pathfinder Sport 38mm tires provide an efficient ride on pavement with the versatility for hard pack dirt riding.

  • Our Premium E5 Aluminum frame provides a stiff, light, and durable platform. When mated to our full carbon FACT fork, the Diverge Base E5 becomes a light, lively and versatile bike ready to attack any surface.
  • We tossed gravel geometry ‘status-quo’ out the window. The new Diverge has the most progressive geometry we’ve ever created for a drop bar bike, giving riders a capable and stable bike in the dirt, that still feels responsive and nimble on the road. We’ve increased the frame’s reach, introduced a slacker head tube and a longer offset fork. All this creates incredible confidence with a planted feeling in the dirt, while spec’ing shorter stems keeps the overall cockpit length the same and the steering lively. We’ve kept the bike’s BB low to increase stability, but high enough to utilize with 650b wheels if that’s your jam.
  • We’ve given the Diverge plenty of rack mounts, including fork and top tube mounts, to ensure you can take what you need, no matter how far you plan to go, or how long you plan to stay ou
  • Nothing unlocks a bike’s capability like tire clearance, so we gave the new Diverge a whopping 47mm of tire clearance with a 700c wheel and 2.1” with a 650b wheel. Thanks to a drive side chain stay utilizing a machined alloy beam behind the chain rings we’ve created clearance without using a fragile dropped chain stay design or increasing chain stay length.

Really terrible brakes, otherwise great.

I can't get over how bad the brakes are. Significantly less stopping power than my old beater bike with rim brakes, not possible to brake hard enough for the wheels to lock up and skid on pavement. I brought it back to the Specialized store that built it twice to see if they could improve them, no luck. Love the bike otherwise.

Brakes aren’t good

The mechanical brakes on this bike are comparable to rim brakes that are old. Totally unreliable they are. If you’re going 45 down a gravel hill maybe don’t get this bike.

Awesome Bike

I wanted to get back to cycling after many years or not riding seriously. After many weeks of research, I went for the Diverge 5. I did not want to invest tons of money in a bike before getting back the sensations of long-distance biking. This bike is perfect, rides very smooth in road and gravel, the group set is quiet, and easy to handle when turning. I take 40 to 50 miles rides every other day and have not experienced any issues so far after 4 months. I have only cleaned and re-lubed the chain once.

Awesome bike with poor assembly quality

First off, I really love the bike. It was affordable and rides like a dream. However, the front and rear derailleur were non functional and both needed to be tuned. The limit screws were no where near close and the indexing was non existent.

Back in the saddle aged 56

Wanted to get a bit fitter and stay in shape, as a back problem stops me from running and going to the gym. I wanted a gravel bike as I live rurally and the roads are a bit rough here and there and after lots of research and video reviews, it looked like the Specialized Diverge E5 was hard to beat for the price and had tons of positive reviews, so I took ownership of my Diverge last week and went on my first Ride today of 14km, firstly I am out of shape and my leg muscles are not as good as I thought, but the bike was great, it is comfortable, light and rides like a dream and I had no back pain, so all I have to do now is get fit and I know I chose the right bike to do it on.

First gravel bike

I was looking for a road bike and found this gravel bike. I made the purchase and have put just under 750 miles on this bike. I love the ride so far I haven't changed anything except the pedals. The ride is smooth and it handles well on gravel and roads. I would purchase again.

Absolutely Perfect

I was looking for a gravel bike or road bike for around €1300 and the Diverge E5 was the perfect choice. It has the correct gear set-up for me in older age and is a dream to ride. Which I had purchased one earlier.
