These tires are, without a doubt, over-engineered.
This makes them quite heavy, when compared with similar profiled tires.
This is, however, just about the only con.
This things are so ridiculously tough that I've plucked cactus thorns, carpentering nails, and thorns from them over the past month of commuting and trail riding, all without full puncture.
I'm using the self-sealing inner tubes from Specialized as well, but I've yet to test anything other than the fact they hold air, because simply nothing's made it passed the Armadillo tires.
