Before all this? Remco was on Belgium’s U16 national football team. At 17, he pivoted to cycling—and never looked back. Within a year, he put the world on notice, winning both the time trial and road race at the World and European Junior Championships. By 19, he was racing pro.
On his Tour de France debut, he almost won the whole thing. He won a stage, finished third overall, and took home the white jersey. Just one week later? Double Olympic gold in the road race and time trial in Paris.
Remco has ridden Specialized his entire career. His drive to go faster fuels our innovation—pushing boundaries and helping shape the Tarmac SL8, the fastest road bike in the world.
