We pioneered the use of pressure mapping to validate our solutions are providing real rider benefit and are backed by real science. Pressure mapping shows how different Body Geometry saddles solve rider problems, from soft tissue pressure to sit bone pain, in any riding position.

195 lbs man, 6'-1", athletic, 58 yr old not new to road or mountain biking, tried selle italia with cut out, tried vizik antared vento 155mm, tried specialized power sith cut out no mimic in 143mm, and finally tried and bought the specialized phenom comp with mimic in 168mm. I feel like even when my sit bones measure 125mm adding 20mm isnt enough because often saddles round over at the edge causing outward or splitting pressure. I kept trying wider and finally with this saddle I feel like I dont have a stick jabbing into my bum . This saddle is fairly flat which gives good support, the mimic is comfortable and decreased the hard edge of cut out. I like having more saddle under me which dispersed my weight over larger area and gives lots of riding room to move around. This saddle doesnt keep pushing you forward like the specialized power saddle. Finally my road bike saddle problem is solved!
Super comfortable 💜
3rd saddle from Specialized Happy over all
Phenom Comp has been my go-to saddle for the past two years. I have it on both my road and all-road bikes. But every indoor season I start to struggle with saddles that have been invisible to my crotch when riding outdoors. I tried a Romin, Power Arc, and a Romin Mimic. None of those felt right for me. Then I found the Phenom Mimic and so far, it been the best solution for Zwift rides.
After 14 yrs, I had to replace my road bike saddle - a high ROI but a daunting change. There's science then there's sensibility - chat to your bike shop and ask for both. The technology must fit your riding style - no pain, negiligible discomfort. I finally chose the Phenom Comp with Mimic after testing the Romin Evo and Power designs, both which caused pain and discomfort after 40kms. The longer nose on the Phenom offered room to adapt my position over conditions/terrains/gradients; the Power is a compact design on which I felt restricted and found myself cycling out of the saddle too often. I feel like I'm sitting on the Phenom vs "hanging" on the Romin Evo. I am not yet a Mimic fan - prefer the cut-out but expect it to improve once I ride the saddle in. Love your every ride with this brand!
First few hours of riding the saddle is comfortable. Maximum hours ridden in a day was 6.5 hours. Bib being used Rapha Classic bib/shorts. Cushion on saddle tends to firm up after 3 hours of riding time.
I have ridden Fizik, Selle Italia and Selle SMP saddles, along with an older model of Specialized. Fizik Arione has been my "go-to," and I really liked the SMP but the Phenom with MIMIC has been the most comfortable saddle I'd ridden yet. Once my race bike's Fizik (good saddle, and colour matched to my bike) is ready to be retired, I'm going comfort of the Phenom over aesthetics. Very comfortable and supportive. If the shape matches your body (it does for me), it is well worth testing it out.
Great fit for me, a very comfortable.
Obviously saddle comfort depends greatly on one’s body. However, the phenom with mimic was instantly comfortable to me in a variety of settings. Long pedal days or steep and fast, I had zero pain wherever I needed to position myself on this saddle. I especially liked the flat nose and low profile padding. When dropping for tech or descents it was completely out of the way. Outside of comfort, the MIMIC prevents the need for a cut out. I tend to avoid cut-outs on mtb saddles because they allow mud and water through from the back wheel. Sadly I don’t see this saddle lasting long for aggressive riders. On finishing my first ride on this saddle a chunk of the plastic edging had chipped off. I hadn’t crashed or felt it hit anything. Most mtb saddles have abrasion resistant material along the rear edges to prevent this. I’ll ride this saddle as long as the vulnerable plastic edge holds up. Aside from this design flaw, excellent saddle.
This is a great saddle! I have a phenom without the mimic the on my gravel bike and it fits better than any other saddle. This is on my Yeti SB5.5 and the fit is perfect. I tried an ergon and MTB lighting and after a couple bikpacking trips had major saddle sores. Thankfully with the Phenom I have had no such issues. I enjoy the softer feel of the mimic on the MTB as the repetitive bumping can get rough but it is definitely softer in the nose than without so if you are looking for a saddle that is the same density from front to back the mimic is not for you.
