Ground Control Grid 2Bliss Ready T7

I’d like to retract my 7/11/25 review where I said that they aren’t quite as wide as they used to be, based on a measurement of a newly installed tire compared with a tire that I’d installed nine months ago. After one ride, the new tire is the same size as the old one. I love these tires for their durability when paired with Orange Seal Endurance sealant refreshed every three months or so. I didn’t appreciate their durability until I swapped one out for a 3. 0” wide tire Surly Dirt Wizard I had purchased when Specialized temporarily stopped making 3. 0” wide tires a few years ago. That tire punctured on a bouldery downhill trail that I’d ridden many times on my Ground Controls without mishap, and I further discovered that after 3 months of use, many of the knobs on one edge of that tire had ripped off, exposing the tire cords beneath, which has never happened with my Ground Controls. These Ground Control tires rule and I hope that Specialized never discontinues them.

I’ve always liked the Specialized 27. 5 x 3. 0 tires because, in addition to being very robust, they were the only 3. 0” wide tires that were really 3. 0” wide on my 38 mm wide rims. However, the latest ones I got (9/24) are more like 2. 85” wide and about 3/16 less high despite having the same part number as what I bought two years prior that were truly 3. 0” wide. That’s still better than most other brands, but I want a real 3. 0” wide front tire with corresponding height to give my 27. 5 plus size bike 29er performance when riding down chunky trails and a wide contact pad when riding down scree strewn trails.

Light weight, fast, grippy…. and so far very tough! I run it primarily in the rear and sometimes front for a lighter duty/XC feel. If this came in Grid Trail and 29x2. 6”…would be THE best tire for the money of any ive ran

If you make a grid trail version of the ground control they will sell like hot cakes.

How about making Ground Controls in a 29 x 2.6? This would be a perfect FRONT tire (paired with a 27.5 x 2.4) on my Levo SL for trail-specific riding.

Great xc/trail tyre. They tick all of the boxes for me, grippy tough and fast BUT the 29x2.35 is only available in the tan wall. I'd rather push a mud crab into my ear with a burning stick than run a tan wall tyre. I will absolutely buy these again when then black wall becomes available again.

Since I’m running 27.5 650b on 3.0 tires, this tire has become my only option. I love the tires hook up. Love it more when it’s on sale.

If your on a Levo this tire should be your replacement tire. It’s faster rolling than the stock Eliminator tire on the rear and much more predictable. With gobs of grip and sidewall pliability it aborbs rock gardens with ease.

Gave up nothing traction wise to the Butcher 2.6 it replaced on the front of my Stumpy. The rocky trails here in AZ are tough on tires and I’m impressed so far!

Fast, grippy and durable. Great tire for loose over hardpack.

Running the 27.5x3 and these tires are flying. They have the rolling speed of a 29er with all the grip and rollover of a monster truck. They're not light but your legs don't know otherwise. They roll so good and the corner knobs work amazing. Ran tubeless with a hand pump on a plus tire on the first try. Specialized continues to make the best tires.

Running front and rear to beef up an XC hard tail. Much better grip than previous tire. Hard to find trail tires in 2.2 width so love that they still come in that size.

I got one of the first iterations of this tire many years ago and was sorely disappointed--they just wouldn't hook up like my Captains did. So when I was looking for a new lighter-weight trail tire for my '16 Stumpy, I went against my better judgement and picked up another one of these. I am completely stoked. I've never once had it slip, even on some chunky rocks in NY this past weekend. No matter the trail surface, I can put power down and know this tire on my rear wheel will push me forward. Absolutely love it.

I have a handful of rides on these tires and they have been awesome. From dry pack to sticky mud.

Great tire. Rolls fast and has decent cornering grip. Using as a rear tire with Eliminator up front. Great fast rolling combo.

Grid sidewall is so stiff that there is no trail feel from the tires. I', 200 lbs riding weight, on a hardtail, in AZ rock and chunk, dropped the rear to 17 psi, tire got squirmy yet still got no vertical compliance. I also felt that the tires handlked quite loose, front washed out very easy in thin loose over hard. Seemed to have great climbing traction though, rolled very fast. Returned, not my cup of tea.

I have ground Control T7 2.35 on front and rear. Still going strong with 7982kilos done on gravel roads without a puncture. No other tire brand for me again, this is the one for keeps.
