Germany’s Bright Star

Thankfully for the world of cycling, Florian—affectionately known as Lipo—chose two wheels over two skis, trading a potential career in biathlon for life in the peloton.

Lipo made his Grand Tour debut at the 2024 Vuelta a España, finishing an impressive 7th overall—a statement ride that confirmed the growing buzz around his GC potential.

His momentum carried into 2025, where he opened the year with a commanding 2nd place at Paris–Nice, one of the WorldTour’s most prestigious one-week races. He followed that up with a strong 4th at the ever-demanding Itzulia Basque Country.

With results like these, Lipo’s trajectory is undeniably upward—and the hype is very much justified. Lipo came on board with Red Bull – BORA – hansgrohe as a stagiaire in 2022 and is seen as one of the bright stars for the future.
