Fast Trak GRID 2Bliss Ready

These tires are great for mixed surface riding, I am running them tubeless, and they mounted up easily and ride great.

My review is price subjective....at $13.95 it's a fantastic tire! If you're paying normal price it's probably a 4 star rating. Looks good, rolls easily and delivers acceptable traction. It's my first time trying this tire but I wanted something a little faster rolling than my usual Assegai. I thought that GRID meant that this tire had an extra durable casing for added puncture resistance so I was expecting something a bit sturdier but I've had no damage so far other than a flat from some stickers (but none of my tires survive those darn things). I feel I have to run higher air pressure than my Maxxis tires to keep the sidewall flex under control in corners. If you're looking for an easy roller that still delivers good traction this might be the tire for you.

Don't let the low-profile tread fool you. Great grip and ride feel. Running the 2.8s front and back on hardpack and loose over hard. I'd run them for anything other than mud. Hope they keep making the 2.8s.

Bought these in a 2.8 and some 35mm inner width rims to try larger tires. On my 'home' trail, for the first couple miles, these provided so much more traction than my old 2.25 front tires that I couldn't slide a tire (loose over hardpack here, so sliding is just part of the deal normally). Once I finally adjusted and sped up enough to get them to break away, I was very pleasantly surprised how easy the slides were to manage. Significantly faster cornering on these tires in a 2.8 to say the least (previous tires were pricey XC lightweight tires). I can't say how much is the tire compound / pattern and how much is the size, but there is no chance I am taking these off if they continue to perform like first few rides.

I put these (2.6) on some very narrow rims (19mm) for my hardtail. I wasn't sure the sidewalls would be strong enough to endure the punishment of myself on rocky, loose over hard trails with some drops. They held up. I had too much pressure in my rear, but now I'm curious to see how they climb now that I know bigger tires need less PSI. So far I find them to be confidence-inspiring on flowy trails. Also, specialized 2.6 is slightly smaller than the Maxxis 2.6.

Read my review of the non-grid version. This is a great (rear) tire, maybe a bit heavy, but the added protection is worth the peace of mind to me. I use it in Colorado where the terrain is very rocky and rough. The Grid casing is no joke when comparing it to the standard version. Could be a bit overkill for those in the Midwest or where there is softer soil. I'm an aggressive XC rider and have had no issues with climbing steep, descending, or turning. I'm comparing this to previously used rear tires: Aspen, Rekon, Ikon.

I've got this baby on the rear of my Epic Evo...comes specced with it. I've ridden the tread before and love it. For hardback and a little tackiness, this thing rips...super fast roller with just enough tread. When this get greasy, this tire slides...but it is very predictable and easy to control. Great for the rear, not so much in the front (when greasy). What makes this awesome is the GRID. Super tough sidewall without compromising the feedback. I fear not launching into a rock garden.

I had an overly aggressive front tire that bit too hard and slowed me down. I have a set of these, front and rear, on my 6-fatty, and I feel like I am on a new bike that is faster and inspires more confidence.

I use FastTrak Grids on my adventure bike. I raced the whole Tour Divide and had no problems, no flats, never even put air in except when I let air out for sand. And, they still had decent tread at the end of the Divide! (At least the front one did.) They do best on dry hardpack, pretty good in a bit of mud or loose rock, not so good in deeper mud.
