    Great ride and great looks!

This bike just rides great, light, agile, fast, comfortable and smooth, a real pleasure to own and use. Very versatile for many purposes like fitness, commuting, urban and light gravel/trail riding. Reliability has been very good, zero issues in over 2,000 miles of riding so far. Looks and finish are also topnotch, and components are pretty good too as delivered. In my case I did some higher-end component upgrades, not out of necessity at all, I think probably more because how much I like the carbon frame and design and just wanted to make it even a bit better/lighter and for some added bragging rights. Vey recommended!

    Awesome Ride

I love this bike. I have the carbon X. Smooth and fast. I'm in the city and the Future Shock makes a huge difference. I ride 15-20 miles 4+ days a week and love it. Very comfortable and responsive. Did I mention how light it is? Like feather weight. I would recommend it 100%. Forget all these negative comments about minor issues. They are rare and simple warranty fixes. Get one! You will love it.

great bike; needs a chain keeper

Love this bike- I have neck issues from years of a more aggressive riding position and needed something fast but more upright. This fits the bill perfectly. Threw some 28c allroad tires to keep up with my road friends. The shock absorbing headset is also great for my body. Only issue with it has been lots of dropped chains off the crank chainring- not a wear issue, since it has been a problem from day 1. I've tried clutch/no-clutch on rear derailleur, but this makes no difference. So I spent an extra $90 on a simple seattube-mounted chainkeeper that has worked perfectly. Wondering if other have this issue as well?

1 year in and loving it

Bought the sirrus x5 in January 20. Previously I usually did around 700 miles a year. I have just clocked up 2000, would've been more but work got in the way! Love everything about this bike, it's light, fast, responsive and perfect riding position.

I WANT TO LOVE THIS BIKE

I'm not novice. Have a fleet of bikes and bought this bike in May 2020 because I wanted a carbon commuter bike . Commuter bike riding is my way of getting additional cardio in for my MTB legs without having to be a spandex roadie.. I have had to replace almost every single component in less than 90 days. Now the rear hub, crank and the brakes are beginning to have issues. I really want to love this bike. The carbon frame is amazing, I understand keeping the price point reasonable but this is ridiculous Specialized. So far after market this bike is about $3000 to make it right.

Concept is brilliant. Execution is marginal

LOVE the frame, 1x drivetrain and flat bar set up. Threaded bottom bracket vs press fit. Future Shock that actually makes a difference in comfort. The mat green color is beautiful. So sick of black bikes. But I highly recommend you have this bike thoroughly inspected before taking delivery. Mine was given to me with NO damper spring installed in the Future Shock. Two of the spokes were so loose I could tighten them by hand. Specs say the tires were tubeless ready. My tires were the next model down and were not. After 3 months and 500 miles I had a bearing failure in the rear hub. I'm still trying to figure out how to silence the rattling inner cables in the downtube. I'm a bike guy and have been able to overcome all of these issues because when it is working, it's now my go-to ride. Just a fun ride. Would I buy another Specialized?...hard to say with the quality control issues I have experienced. Time to order some upgraded wheels..not from Specialized.

Great, BUT... Brake RATTLE & Bottom Bracket Clicking

I like this bike... a great deal. It's light, quick, and easy to run on varying terrain. However, in the first the month I had it back in the shop twice. After two rides I brought it in because clicking was coming from the bottom bracket. The tech removed the bottom bracket and said there was ""absolutely no grease in there."" He lubed it up and sent me on my way. Four rides later the clicking came back, in a bad way. Each turn of the crank brought with it an audible and physical click. I brought it back again and got a different tech. He took everything apart on the crank and bottom bracket and re-torqued it all to spec. Seems to be working fine now. But I'm not sure how this is much different than the first fix? Of course, I've since seen the safety notice issued by Specialized regarding this very issue. All that aside, I would still give this bike a 5-star review. However, the brakes on this bike are have a terrible RATTLE. The pads and the retaining clips bounce around inside the calipers each time I ride over an imperfection in the road. Living in New England, there are many imperfections. Every time I hit a crack, an indent, or a bump it sounds like a wrench bouncing around inside a metal tool box in the back of an old pick-up truck driving on a washboard with a shot suspension. Yeah, it's bad; maddening. I can't help but wonder if this is a design flaw or if it is defective? I removed the pads and retaining clip, opened up the clip to supply more off-load retension against the calipers and reinstalled. They seemed to work better for half a ride, and then the RATTLE came back! I tried contacting Shimano but was unsuccessful. I would really like to get this addressed but was told by the shop where I purchased the bike (35 miles away) it was normal. I can't see how that can be? I rode down a packed dirt road and thought the bike was LOUDLY disintegrating upon reentry to the Earth's atmosphere. It just can't be right.

    2019 color was better

It's a pity that the 2020 color doesn't match the 2019; I decided to wait and not to buy for now since I can't find anymore the previous model

    Perfect City Bike

I spent a number of years riding around NYC on a road bike, but always felt like I was gonna get hit by a car. Not only do I feel so much more comfortable riding in traffic with the more upright geometry, but it's super comfortable and light and just rolls right over potholes and rough city streets. I ride this bike so much more than my road bike. I also put a salsa wanderlust rack on it to hold groceries etc and it still feels light and responsive. Great bike!

    Great All Around Bike

Been biking for several years including mountain, road, and gravel. Looking for something more comfortable in my older days without trading in my soul, so I got a Sirius X 5.0. So, this bike is smooth. Carbon fiber frame and fork with the 5.0, nice saddle, and the 20 mm shock (icing on the cake) make this a comfortable ride. I love the single sprocket up front and the range in the rear cassette is impressive. Disk brakes - awesome. I really like the straight axles - maybe its more simplistic and maybe its more structurally sound if only in my mind. I expected it to be comfortable and it is. I am surprised at how nimble and speedy it is. Can't wait to hit the gravel. You get a lot of bang for the buck with this bike and the 4.0. Super happy with the purchase, the shipping time, and my local bike shop. As far as the cable rubbing the paint - not a problem here - but if it pops up - just put some tape on it.
