The new tubeless-ready S-Works Tracer is made for CX racing in dry and intermediate conditions and spec’d with a light and supple 120 TPI casing with grippy T7 GRIPTON® compound. This rubber grips in all course conditions and will give you confidence on every race lap. The new GRID RACE sidewall protection is a lightweight cross-woven polyamide mesh, which is tear- and puncture-resistant but still very elastic for a supple ride. GRID RACE provides the best combination of protection, low weight, and speed, all while maintaining a responsive feel. A strong bead holds to the rim at low tire pressures, and the tire cross-section is designed to meet the UCI rule of 33 mm on a wide modern rim shape.

  • Butyl wrapped bead = 2Bliss Ready

33mm S Works Tracer

This tire measured 31. 5mm on a 21mm inside diameter rim. The Tracer and Terra S Works tires are great tubeless setups as they hold air right away and are not fussy with leaks like other tubeless tires I have used. The Tracer is a great tire for dry, grassy, and fat cyclocross racing. I used them on a course that had lots of off-camber sectors, tight chicanes, and straight grassy portions. The narrowness of this tire was the advantage in the corners because it rolls quickly from edge to edge. The soft, high surface area grippy tread hooks up really well through the corners and off camber sections. I am 170 pounds and went with 29 psi rear and 27. 5 psi front on this smooth, grassy, hard packed course. I would have added a psi if there were more tree roots. The low volume makes a pretty bumpy ride, but it is cyclocross, I will trade speed, great grip, wonderful handling for a few bumps any day.

Caution

Specialized did an excellent job of camoflaging the rotation arrow so this is not a bi directional tire. Hope you can see it!

These are quite impressive

A teammate let me race his bike after I crashed mine in the intermediate race in the morning. I raced his bike with these tires on later in the Elite race and they were quite impressive. So much so that I bought a set and once I got them on my bike with my wheels and pumped to my preferred pressure I'm really impressed. On dry, or even tacky damn days these tires are absolute money (as long as your legs are also in the money). On a muddy day obviously I prefer the Terras... but on nice days good laaaaawd these Tracer Pro's are fast!
