The rear fender is poorly designed with no top support and there's no hardware to fix the end at the bottom bracket, even though the fender has a hole. I put a zip tie in as a temporary fix. Not worth the money IMHO. Front one is fine. Why no rear bracket as fitted to the front?
They look great and fit right. It really looks like they belong there. The downside is that they are too short in the back: there is room for the mud to reach your back when you go too fast in wet conditions. I’m now in the market for a flap extender to fix this.
1) The bars that connect the front fender are just a bit too short and have to be manipulated in order to not rub on the tire. I added 4 washers to one side to push it out a little more and then had to manipulate the whole setup to stop it from rubbing the tire. 2) The rear fender is extremely difficult to attach without deflating or removing the rear tire. It also has another screw that should connect right below the seat, but the directions didn’t make sense until I had already installed the whole thing and realized it rattled without that connection point. Not wanting to disassemble anything, it’s not being held together with gorilla tape and a zip tie to keep it from rattling. That hole is not pre-drilled and it would be incredibly difficult to put it in place, again, without deflating or removing the back tire altogether.
Specialized 3.0 fenders. Work well but a bit noisy when going over bumps. Metal attachment rods do not offer much support or ability to adjust
No issues with the installation. Look awesome.
The wires that hold up the plastic seem very flimsy. The fenders bump and rub my tires a lot, and the clamps don't hold the wires still. Very disappointed with these
Not realized after installation that the rear wheel is touching the fender. Thanks to the other reviewer for the solution is to have the rear clips up not down as on the instruction. No way to put in the screw at the bottom front of the rear fender without removing the wheel. Wire holding the front fender on the one side keep touching the tire no matter how I adjust & align. Frustrating. This product is marginal at best.
During installation the front fender cracked near bracket, drilled small hole to stop it from spreading further (thought it was my fault). Yesterday the rear fender broke at the mid position (behind seat post). Removed rear fender. Very disappointed at how fragile those fenders are.
low profile, works perfectly with the rear rack
Not all of the hardware is included, the holes on the front fender are misaligned, the rear fender is missing a hole and hardware to attach behind the seat. Other reviewers point this out so somebody know this is junk but continue to sell it. Noticed the price is now $36 instead of $50 I paid. It's crap at any price. I had to put a star to post or would have rated negative.
Good fit and practical.
So I got these fenders for my wife's Roll 3.0. I agree with some others on here the instructions are about as clear as mud and according to the instructions I recieved I was short at least 2 washers. Would have been helpful if the instructions had said to start the rear fender installation with the wheel removed, which I finally figured out after trying to fit it for about 20 mins. The small clips in the rear shown in the instructions to have them down and I had to have them up because the fender made contact with the tire if I followed the instructions. Having to drill one hole was not really a big deal because I have the tools and I am mechanically inclined. They are not perfect but for $37 I cannot expect them to be perfect I guess.
Negative: Did not really fit the bottom bracket point, had no way to secure to the seat stay bridge. Next morning I went for a ride and cracks propagated from both points, breaking them. Both fenders could use a mud guard at the rear. Positive: Is precise fit for the tires, looks very attractive. Conclusion: Specialized, please add a mount point for the seat stay bridge, and review 1) the type of plastic, and 2) how the fender fits the bottom bracket point. Consider mud guards.
Good fit, easy to install.
Must have to keep dust and small rocks fying on you. Tip: when installing the rear fender guard remove the rear wheel first to get easy access on the bolts.
Perfect fit and easy to install !!!
Fit fine on roll
Brackets didn’t quite fit the front fork of my 2018 Crosstrail properly, but I could modify to get to work
Well built and keeps clothes clear of dirt and wetness when riding to work!!
I noticed while installing the front fender that the rivets in the mounting location were off center and it drove me crazy trying to get it all aligned. Also the rear fender installation was a pain, and wasn't a clean constant curvature that followed the tire shape. All in all I have them installed on my bike and like the look, but definitely not a quick install if you a particular on how it is setup. I also don't understand why they didn't cut a slotted hole in the rear fender and make you drill your own, but not too difficult to align and cut once you get the rear wheel off.
First, the instructions are lacking. Second, parts (washers) are missing and I had to get my own. Lastly, you have to drill your own holes in the fender (I don't call that no-fuss). The instructions aren't clear about this and don't tell you the size drill bit you need or where to drill the holes.
Like others before have said - not all the screws are included and the instructions are garbage.
I own 3 Roll Elites, two large and one medium. I love the fenders! I received them fast. All three sets were perfect. They installed quickly with ease. All the hardware was correct. They are made of plastic, which I like. The plastic is not brittle it's forgiving. The flexibility of the fenders allow them to return to their correct positions after a bump unavoidable transport position. In fact, the fenders are flexible and forgiving enough to allow me to still use my tray style bike rack with Shepherd's hook tire hold down. I pinch the down tight to the tire, and go. I would definitely recommend these affordable fenders, designed for the ROLL.
I read previous reviews before purchasing so i was aware of complaints by others. The fenders are plastic but seem sufficient to do the job. The support wires are powder coated stainless steel and seem plenty strong. The instructions were ok but not as detailed as they could have been. Installation of the rear fender requires removal of the rear wheel. Some drilling of the rear fender is required for mounting. Once on, they fit fine. Since these fenders were made for the Roll, these seemed to be the safest bet to purchase.
Flimsy plastic fenders; one has to bend the front bracket to prevent it rubbing on wheel, rear can’t be attached with supplied bolt. Terrible product.
