    2021 Diverge Comp E5

Whether your goal is to escape on gravel back roads, far from cars and crowds, toe the start line at your first gravel race, or simply get the most versatile bike on the road or dirt, no bike is better than the new Diverge. It's quite simply the fastest, most capable - and just maybe the most fun - alloy bike we've ever made, delivering a ride that's quick and lively, but stable and confidence inspiring when the terrain gets rough. From Future Shock 1.5 and all-new gravel geometry, to category leading tire clearance, the new Diverge represents everything we've learned over more than 40 years of riding road, gravel and dirt. The Diverge writes an entirely new chapter in the gravel bike category, so you can dream up entirely new rides. It's the ultimate getaway vehicle.

Starting with premium E5 alloy frame and a full carbon FACT fork, we gave the Diverge Comp E5 our Future Shock 1.5 for a fast, confident and comfortable ride on road, in the dirt, and over thick gravel. Shimano's gravel inspired GRX 600 group shifts 1x11 gears smoothly on any terrain and Axis Elite alloy wheels with Pathfinder Sport 38mm tires add even more capability and versatility.

    Meh....

I'm really torn on this. I searched for a 21 model as I'm a Shimano guy. I luckily found one at a shop a couple hours away. My disappointment comes with the fender mounts for the rear. This is a terrible design. So much so that I wish I would of looked into this a little more. I probably would of went a different route. I even bought the Specialized fenders they recommend on their website. It's just not a good set up. I feel like if you advertise fender mount they should actually work good. Hopefully I can find some that work. Right now pretty bummed with my bike purchase.

    Awesome Versatility

I couldn't be happier with this bike. Somehow, it's just as fast on pavement as my '18 Roubaix Comp. It's basically a beefier version of that bike, with more stability and of course off-road capability. The AL frame doesn't feel like a compromise in any way, and I feel it has excellent power transfer. I love the 1X transmission for it's simplicity, yet it has plenty of range for just about anything. I was afraid the steps between gears was going to feel too large, but that hasn't been the case at all. The Shimano cassette has a nice linear spread of cogs. I don't feel the need to change anything, except that I had a 38T chainring swapped in to suit my high-cadence pedaling style. You'll be amazed at how much this bike can do, and do very well.
