This show is light, water resistant, sheds mud like it’s a sheet of glass, is very comfortable, and allows you to walk a bit if needed. No you’re not going to feel comfortable walking miles in this, but that is not what you’re going to be doing anyways! Great for all types of weather.

Had just received them, was a bit worried because of the low value for my goofy feet with my massive bunion. I cut the front part of the insoles to if I could make extra room and it help. The true test to was to ride. I am very pleased with the fit having no issues. The heel cup locks the heel in very well and Boa system is great with a good even fit over the foot. The upper felt was a bit stiff,but I think it will break-in with time. Overall very happy and recommend them

These shoes have features of the S-Works that make them excellent for riding fast. They are stiff and have a very secure fit when you tighten down the boas. There is zero heel lift, and your feet will not move forward or around in the shoes. They have a slight suppleness to the upper just behind the ball of the foot, allowing you to get off the bike and walk around but not sacrifice power output on the bike. No, these will not be the shoes I would recommend for hike and bike, but you can move around on them without being worried about losing your grip. They are also built well and will not fall apart like their more expensive older sibling, the S-Works Recon.

Great shoe on the bike - terrible shoe off of it. Definitely not a hike a bike shoe, trying to walk through mud, or up unridable parts, is the most uncomfortable experience you could have.

Bought these to upgrade from an earlier model of the Recon 2.0, and they've solved a lot of the issues I had. The shoes just outright fit better, they're stiffer, and feel like they breathe a little better. Been using these primarily as gravel racing shoes, and I'm really pleased. I was going to keep the old Recon 2.0s as backups, but I may just break down and get another pair of these.

I have the last version Recon 3.0 and also the previous version S Works Recon. (All size 49) This new version is substantially wider in the forefoot and allows your foot to move around a lot more in the front of the shoe. And I have wide feet. Not that this is a bad thing, but in my case I found that I had to tighten the BOA's a lot tighter that created some numbness. Maybe I need to play more with insoles. The heel area does a great job of retention. New 3.0 is 25g heavier than the older 3.0 but far more robust. The sole is also is a great upgrade from the previous version and seems like it will last longer. Of course I have 49's in the clay color and look kind of like clogs.
