2018 Turbo Kenevo Expert 6Fattie

Descending 1,000 straight feet of the rockiest, most technical, and gnarly trails is one of the most exhilarating feelings imaginable, but climbing back up, lap-after-lap, delivers a different kind of "tingly feeling." Not the adrenaline kind, but more of the quad-searing variety. And while we're all for getting a hard workout in, it's nice to have some extra power, and there's only one bike that allows you to do that without sacrificing big suspension travel—the Turbo Kenevo Expert 6Fattie.

With the Turbo Kenevo FSR, first and foremost, you get all of the hallmarks that our trail bikes are known for—a roomy top tube for an easy fit and better control, ultra-short chainstays for nimble handling, and a low bottom bracket that makes the bike feel glued to the trail. Top this off with 180 millimeters of front and rear travel, and you have a bike that's ready to send it off of anything.

Then comes an M5 aluminum frame and efficient and powerful Turbo technology, integrating a battery, and a new Specialized 1.3 motor that delivers 15% more power than the previous version. This also delivers a significant increase in efficiency, while our exclusive Rx Trail Tune at the motor smoothly and quietly brings this additional power to the pedals, making climbing the steepest of trails nearly effortless. The output is fully adjustable to conserve energy, as well, while the custom motor is also the only one on the market that features instant pedal engagement, so you get immediate power the moment you need it, and consistent torque throughout the entire cadence range.

At the battery, you'll find that it's fully integrated with the down tube and easily removable for quick charging or swaps. It has a lengthy lifespan for hitting long, out of the way trails and, along with the motor, it's strategically placed for optimal weight distribution. You'll also find our Mission Control App for full control of the Turbo technology, an integrated Trail Display with all of the ride metrics you need, a Trail Remote that lets your easily switch between modes without removing your hands from the bars, and a power meter that shows exactly how much power you're putting out vs. the motor.

The Turbo Kenevo features a build spec that leaves nothing to be desired, with an Öhlins TTX22M coil shock, a RockShox Lyrik fork with 180mm of travel, SRAM's GX one-by groupset, and hand-built Roval alloy rims. It also features our 27.5 x 2.8" tires that decrease deflection and dramatically increases traction, floatation, and fun over the trail.

More DH = Say goodbye to your other rig

Been riding for almost 30 years. Get out about 3 or 4 times a week. I have always only ever gone uphill expressly to go downhill. Granted, I like the benefits of pedaling uphill, but the whole reason I've ever ridden is to hit jumps, berms, rock gardens, chutes, and whatever other fun elements are on the downhill. This bike is absolutely the dream for anyone like me. The post blows, but I knew I'd have to replace that after reading reviews. Other quibbles: the rear axle comes loose, but I check it regularly now, the cranks are a little long for the bb height on the large, and the walk mode is hit and miss. The bike itself though is so, SO good. It's a lite DH bike with spot-on geo that lets you climb everything. Want to get 3x the downhill on a 3 or 4 hour epic? Just keep it in eco most of the time, get a little help from the battery, and come back feeling like you were at the bike park all day. Only have the standard 60-90 minutes? Blow your wad with it in turbo the whole time and still get about double the dh you would've gotten on the acoustic enduro that's now gathering dust in your garage. I'll be stoked when they're lighter, but the only time the weight bugs is when you're off the bike maneuvering it around or lifting it onto your tailgate. When you're on the bike, it just feels planted, stable, and dialed. So pumped on this bike after three months. Can't recommend it enough. I just feel sad for my poor enduro rig. The one time I took it out after I started riding the Kenevo, I was bitter because- as good as that bike is- as I pedaled slowly uphill I knew I would've already been slaying the dh if I'd ridden the Kenevo.

This bike is insanely good

Having owned many bikes over the years, many have been excellent and trustworthy steeds. This bike however, is hands down the best bike I've ever owned. It's grounded, great in the corners, floats through the air and climbs like a dream. You could easily stick a set of dual crowns on here if you wanted.

I would by this bike again, witout second thoughts

I tested a view bikes, Levo expert and this bike. If you want to give everything in your body to get that jump and speed, than this is the bike you want!! The Hills are not high enough for this bike! Great construction and gemometry and suspensions, great work specialized!!

I love my Kenevo E-Bike

I bought this bike to replace an S-Works mountain bike that was stolen. I can't say enough good things about this bike. I love the fact that I can climb just about any hill placed in front of me. Not only does it have a lot of power, but the suspension is outstanding. I also love the distance that I can ride on a full charge. It is an amazing bike. I weigh approximately 260 lbs, and it handles my weight like a champ.

Love it!

Just rode the Kenovo at the VT MTB fest. It was hard to give it back. So much fun. It does everything well. I normally ride an Specialized Enduro and it took little to no time to adapt to this ebike!

Not a replacement, but an amazing alternative

The Levo is now an essential part of my bike quiver. A DH bike, a standard trailbike, and a Levo make for sweet riding opportunities wherever you're headed. Whether banging out solo laps at our local shuttle spot, or tagging along with my buddy that is way stronger, the Levo is at home. I find myself running it on the lowest setting as much as anything else, and it's just enough for a little boost but still working up a lather. Just fun all the time.
