The speed limit at which the motor will stop supporting may vary significantly by region and is based on local requirements. It may also affect range: a higher speed limit may result in less range.

Underrated. It's better as an

Underrated. It's better as an after MTB continuation of riding all terrain. It's not as nimble as a MTB but is much more stable on most surfaces with longer wheelbase the ride is classic tourer but allows adventure on dirt trails. I bought this bike because I'm getting a little too old to MTB efficiently and I still want to ride off-road. It's a compromise of sorts to take a step back and move to a slightly more forgiving ride. It can do very light jumps but nothing like MTB design and cornering on Tero X is a little slower response due to long wheelbase more noticeable on dirt, the Ground Control tread is grippy enough to bite and turn on almost all surfaces but it less twitchy and you can't negotiate technical twisty terrain like in an MTB. I bought this bike for touring. It's good in design for carrying camping gear and having it loaded up the bike with rider can hold 150kg which is ample for decent trips. The panniers and guards are all light aluminium so weight isn't an issue and there's plenty of hanging points to hold gear on this bike. And you do pay for quality, I considered weight to power of motor and terrain ability. I've put this Turbo Tero X 6. 0 bike through some testing and it will drag 120kg up a 45° incline as long as you can shift your weight forward enough. Changing from MTB to this geometry mean you must adjust weigh forward for uphill riding as it will otherwise feel a bit light on the front end. Downhill and standard level terrain, this bike is better than an MTB equivalent geometry and you will gain confidence to rip down descents rather than hold the brake. As the bike comes pretty much set up you don't need a lot of other gear. Lights, Route Computer and componentry is snuggly fitted so you don't break bits off, nothing sticks out as a catch point and the only thing I've adjusted on this bike is the power supply matrix so I'm not using as much torque as standard. This will depend upon your fitness and making changes is very easy but you need to understand what you are doing before venturing into engineering territory. Ive tried to synchro each gear in cadence and change of terrain. I have 2 set ups I can swap between. Both are similar. Each is for different weather conditions. Wet means you need less torque but more power. The opposite applies to dry conditions, and is only slight. Overall I'm very happy with this bike as it fills the gap of being too old for MTB and not too old to stop riding dirt. And if anything Specialized should make another version of the Tero X for old farts who want a twitchier feel and shorten its stance to be more MTB but also have the geometry of fast trail riding which is more a Downhill bike feel. I think the Turbo Tero X is more the bike you discover is right after riding it for a few months. It's a different ride but is well worth it as I think this bike will outlive me in its build quality. It can take a beating and not fall apart or give you grief that other cheaper bikes just don't have ability to provide over and over again. If you can afford this bike, you can also afford the service of it as it's not a home mechanics toy. However I won't get my first service till about 5000km. There's no need.

Love this machine

1.5 years and ~1200 miles on my Tero x 6.0 in non winter riding. Getting older now so needed some help as I transition from my StumpJumper days. Mainly now on double track and getting myself around town. I have spent ~40% of miles on double track/forest service roads, 10% on single track, and the balance 50% on pavement . Have done some single tracks that I had no business doing on this bike with no issues. This bike has done it all admirably. Sure there may be a few minor tweaks here and there that Isn’t worth the ink to mention. Everything has worked flawlessly and zero repairs. Tough not to give this bike a hard look if looking for similar capabilities.

Good machine - I look forward to see where it takes me

I received the 6.0 a couple weeks ago and have a few miles on it now. Very comfortable bike and performs as a commuter very well. As expected, the component group is really good. I still need to get my brakes set-up a little better for me, but I am certain that is my issue. Two issues with the bike that I am not liking immediately are: Removing the rear fender seems difficult, due to the tail light. I am going to dig in a little deeper, but Kind of a “GEEK on Deck” signal showing up to trails with fenders….. The next issue I have is trying to find the purpose for the bosses that are installed above the motor. I cannot find a bottle cage or any SWAT type accessory that fits the space on the LARGE. When I called Specialized they indicated there is a single folding lock in the market (not on their site) that does fit…. Likely something too small to be of much use. Seems like a waste. Maybe they will create something down the road just for Turbo Tero X owners.

Mixed hits and misses

Have 6.0- suspension, driveline, impresses right off the bat. Shifts super cleanly, great intuitive ample power from the motor, battery endurance seems solid. Brakes started out weak but after beding in they too are first rate. Love the details like torque spec right on parts you need to adjust. Lights work well & are bright. Fenders are stupidly designed and I crashed today when front wheel stopped rotating due to mud clogging. Had to carry bike for awhile to get clear and use sticks to clear wheel. Just bad design and for me dangerous design mistake, need 2x to 3x more tire gap. Bike has no reflectors on quasi street bike that auto enables lights when powered on for safety. Black is only color actually available and even brand labels are black. Every road biker adds flashers front & back and wears reflective clothing because they know the risks from not being seen. Specialized - put some reflective decals on the bike, make at least the rear light a flasher and fix the fenders.

Adventure machine

This is a fire road exploring commuter machine! I’m a bike guy and I’m super pleased with the component specs on this bike, specialized really nailed it on this one. The bike has plenty of suspension performance for rough fire roads and is an absolute joy to just wonder around on and discovered short cuts and trails with. I wouldn’t recommend this bike for full on mountain biking but that’s what a Levo is for. The range is a real 60+ miles in hilly terrain and you can go beyond that by dialing in your settings with the app. I utilize the fenders and rear rack daily with afternoon thunderstorms and daily commutes with a pannier and the bike is just dialed. The lighting setup is really nice but in a perfect world I’d like a brighter tail light and a headlight mount that moves the light away from behind the cables. This is flat out a great bike and I would fully recommend it to anyone looking for an adventure commuter.
