I love the helmet, but the pads inside have fallen apart in less than 8 months. There are no medium replacements in north america, and I'm told there won't be until Jan, 2026. Renders an expensive helmet useless for 6 months.

Ridden off the road last Sunday (July 27, 2025) at 54 km/hr descending a hill in a bike lane, hit the sidewalk on my side, smacked my head hard. Despite the hard hit I clearly remember the soft feeling when I hit my head and I have already bought the replacement Evade 3. The helmet is dented and scratched up good, but still intact. No concussion symptoms at all, thank goodness! Never cheap out protecting your head!

The center hole allows rocks, big bugs and anything even UV to hit you hard. Simply too shockingly big unprotected area. Also, if you change head position the same spot becomes a huge drag. Light helmet, definitely well cooked, but is compromised by that center issue, I occasionally find myself grabbing the older gen Evade as it has better UV protection and no chance of a wasp coming central and stinging me at speed. It literally feels like a hammer blow at 35-45 km/hr. Good aero, just don’t move your head.

Nice helmet and comfy but the cradle inside the helmet creaks and becomes noticeable,not really worth the premium price as cheaper helmets are better quality and the plastic parts feel cheap,ok lid but could be improved.

I was hit by a hit and run driver and crashed out going 24 mph. I hit my head and lost consciousness, fractured my pelvis in 3 places and was scraped up really bad. The driver sped off and left me there until a landscape crew found me. My S-Work Evade 3 saved my head from serious injury. It took a good hit on the pavement and held up extremely well. I did not end up with a serious head injury and it saved my life. As soon as I could ride again I bought another one and will keep buying Specialized helmets.

I crashed out going 20mph. There was a rock or piece of pavement that blended into the road that I first hit with my front wheels; it felt like I hit curb and before I could fully recover my rear wheel it the rock and shot out from under me. Hit the road hard and skidded to a stop. despite almost instant bruises on my head from impact the CT scans came back clean and I never even got a head ache. The helmet cracked crumpled, delaminated and protected my head. So thank you R and D team, mips, and to the Specialized team behind the development of the evade 3. Corey

I crashed out in a race at 30+ MPH. The S-Works Evade 3 cracked/folded in a number of spots, but I never lost consciousness . . . Despite 6 broken ribs, a fractured L4, a punctured lung and some serious road rash. I was extremely lucky, but the luck had no part in the design of this helmet. Great job, Specialized. Last July I was hit by a hit and run driver who left me unconscious in a ditch on the side of the road. No idea how long I was there until a landscape crew found me and called for help. My helmet saved my life. Absorbed all the force of the crash and even though I don't remember anything that happened after the accident I am confident if it were not for my S-Works helmet I would not be here writing this review. I always wore specialized helmets and won't ever change.

3/22/25 My front tubeless tire suddenly blew off rim at 24 mph while my hands were in aero position. Broken forearm, and very hard hit on left side of helmet. This helmet absorbed all forces. My Garmin said I slid for around 10 seconds before 0mph. The helmet cushioning had many internal crack lines from front to back which meant it absorbed a lot of force. No concussion. Even my ears, sunglasses were protected from road rash. This Evade helmet saved my life along with my face. Just forearm bones and road rash. This helmet did its job.

My last S-Works helmet saved my life when I crashed my TT bike a few weeks ago at 25-26 MPH. The helmet cracked through but completely absorbed the shock of my head hitting the pavement first. Dislocated shoulder, Grade I AC separation, and broken ribs but NO head injury, loss of consciousness, or concussion! This is why I just purchased a new S-Works Evade 3 helmet. Perfect fit, aero, looks great--It's the only helmet I'll ever buy. This retired neurosurgeon is an S-Works helmet buyer for life! Thanks Specialized!

Don't understand why take the magnetic buckle away makes no sense and the dial looks cheapy for a 300 dollar helmet they can do better the look of it by far is fabulous but they missed the mark

I have always bought specialized helmets but this latest version of the Evade has been disappointing, first the magnetic buckle is gone, second the dial to adjust the tightness has broken in just a few shorts months since purchase :(

didnt expect how lite this helmet is, air flow during my sprint is amazing….felt like i dont wear helmet at all. expensive but yet worth the price.

Nice and comfortable aero helmet. First ride hit 92 degrees and no issue with heat. Also helmet has decent look. Not to bulky or square.

Honestly probably one of my favorite helmets i've tried for style reasons alone, that also keeps my head cool. Not to mention that it absorbed a 30mph impact when I was hit by a car and left me concussion free... Kudos to the engineers who put this thing together!

My current helmets are all Mtn specific but I do still have a couple of +10 year old road helmets before I left the dopers for the dirt. while I haven't yet rode outside with the helmet yet, I did wear it around the house and did a virtual ride with it (and a fan) to compare it against my other helmets. From the start I realized it was very comfortable by just placing it on my head. I found it as light or lighter than the 2 other helmets. During my short virtual ride, I wore it to see if it worked with all my sunglasses. It was awesome. I rocked my head around as if I was on a bumpy road and the helmet did not knock against the frame of my glasses. fyi, years ago, I tried teh MIPS technology and found it made the helmet bounce around and hit my sunglasses. The new Mips and this helmet did not bother any of my current vision protection. I can't wait to take it to the dirt/gravel after Wyoming's roads are clear.

Bought this helmet for the aero features and was surprised by how comfortable it is. I've come to expect aero helmets to be less comfortable than my traditional helmets. This was love at first ride!

Best helmet I have ever had! Historically, I would rarely wear a helmet because I found them pretty uncomfortable and I rarely went on the road or mountain biking, but when I got a road bike I felt it was necessary to be 100% complaint. I’m glad I shelled out the extra money for this one. Lightweight, easy to adjust, and you will likely forget that your wearing it.

I have fairly big round head, measuring around 62cm in circumference. After trying many helmets from different brands in this category, I tried the Evade III last, assuming based on reviews it would be too narrow. Surprisingly, it fit great. Can't say for sure whether I was lucky to find a round fit (not Classic), as the box doesn't say, but I think it is one of these. I applaud Specialized for offering helmets for people with rounder, bigger heads. Ventilation, comfort and adjustability are all very good, but of course subjective. The price may seem steep, but when you are someone with a big round head living in a Western country, where mostly narrow helmets are sold, finding a good quality helmet that fits comfortably and safely is like finding gold. Worth every penny. I have the blue one, which looks much shinier and darker than the pictures indicate.

Purchased an Evade II for the 2021 and 2022 Trans Am Bike Race. Excellent fit and great air flow for cooling on hot days. Fast forward to summer of 2023. Was involved in a serious crash where I was ejected from my Roubaix and thrown across the hood of a truck. Landed on my head and shoulder. I believe this helmet saved me from severe brain trauma or worse. I attribute this to the excellent design and snug fit of the helmet. Thank you Specialized for the excellent product and R&D that went into this. Unfortunately, my beloved Roubaix was snapped in half in the accident, but that's another story. Helmet is the best

Little bit pricey for how I was expecting it to look, so idk if it’s necessary worth 300$. I’m happy with it overall and don’t regret throwing down the extra cash. Don’t think I’m going to use the mips app thing. Also, yeah the front of the helmet could come down a little bit more to make it look cooler..

Classic fit runs small for my head though. Had to exchange for a round fit instead. Extremely cooling helmet despite being so much more aero in design.

Fit is incredible. Lighter than wearing a baseball hat. For bald guys - you get the awesome airflow without exposure of your scalp to sunburn like other lightweight helmets that have huge slots to reduce weight. Don’t need to wear sunscreen with this helmet and you still get fantastic airflow. Don’t buy the blue one because I have it and I want to be the only one out riding with this beautiful helmet. Maybe the best helmet since the Sub-6 from the 90’s!

The fit and finish are fantastic. Weight is very good. Airflow is 10/10. Compared to Giro Aether and Synthe, KASK Vallegro Protone I find the Evade superior despite the minimalist construction. Still trying to find the perfect way to keep the glasses in the front vents, but that’s not a deal breaker.

I really like this helmet and fits great. The reviews complaining about the size aren’t adjusting the inner lining correctly. I wish it would come in silver too.

I bought the Prevail 3 (its been great) when it launched, and this spring I was looking to get an aero helmet so this was the obvious choice for me. Quite a few rides in and so far its been amazing, maybe more high end feeling then the prevail. Love this helmet.

I am very happy with this product. I wanted to get an aero helmet and Specialized makes a solid product. The fit of the Evade III is smaller than the Evade II and so it may be worth trying on before you purchase. I have always been a small in Specialized helmets and so I purchased a small Evade III. It still fits but with no margin remaining. As I wanted an aero helmet that perfectly fits the bill, but I will continue to use my Prevail II when I need room for a hat under the helmet.

The fit is great, and the ventilation is improved over the Evade 2. Not the best looking helmet, but it gets 'better looking' once you use it, so to speak.

I bought an Evade 2 a few months ago to accompany my Prevail 2. Both helmets fit great. One is aero while the other is more vented. I tried on both the new Evade 3 and Prevail 3 and found the fit to be very different- aka bad. The small was too small and the medium was a bucket. The shape for the fit was also really odd. Not sure what head shapes these are based on. Next up, I loved the magnetic buckle on the Evade 2 and that is gone in the new gen. I like the new thinner straps, but everything else is a step back. I wish the new gen was better, but whoops.. wah wah

Had to replace my Evade 2 due to a crash (helmet did its job). I had to wait a while for this to be released. I'm really happy with this helmet, fits well. It feels better ventilated than the previous model. Only disappointment is the lack of a magnetic clip.

Finally got my hands on the color I wanted (white with green back). I have two of the last generation (one cracked), and they cost $275 and included the ANGI crash detection/alert. This one is $300 and you have to pay $50 extra for ANGI (think I’ll stick with my Garmin Edge and Apple Watch with all do the same thing LoL. However that’s a $75 jump in price for essentially the same helmet (yes slightly slicker), and no magnetic clip if you want the same functionality. Love S-works stuff but this feels like a small step backwards in value. Anyway, the helmet feels comfortable, fits perfect (medium like before) or better and assume it does its job and for what I particularly like the older V2 (no wind noise), keeping my head safe. Just a bit bummed that one has to pay extra for ANGI for this price.

Seriously white! Helmet raised above the brow higher which is great. Leaves more room for sunglasses. Slips through the wind very well.

As the Evade 3 had just been released I purchased it on the strength of good reviews, especially aerodynamic tests, on the Evade 2. Found it to be really comfortable with very even pad pressure on my head. I have a 58 cm head and the Medium is a good fit. It appears the previous niggles with the straps flapping have been fixed. As I ran with all the vents permanently plugged on my previous helmet I found the ventilation (in cold weather) was too good but easily solved by wearing a skull cap. The sun glasses storage “ports” work well and as the arms of the glasses run against your head you can feel if they are in place. In summary the helmet is expensive but in my opinion worth every cent.

Just got the new evade and have been very pleased so far. Several 90+ degree days and it's noticeably cooler and feels lighter on the head than evade 2. Still feels fast and "quiet" like an aero helmet should, with very minimal wind noise. Holds my Roka shades securely. Straps are narrower which is a nice touch.

This helmet is more aero than the Evade 2 from the simple fact that it only has 5 intake cooling vents compared to the 10 intake cooling vents of the Evade 2. The Evade 2 has 4 extra side intake vents and 1 extra top intake vent. So though the Evade 3 is much more aero than the Evade 2, can someone explain how the Evade 3 is more cooler. More aero and more cooling do not go together. Pick one.

Just finished my first ride with the new evade three and I love the new helmet! My ride was on a very hot night, 93° with high humidity in Oklahoma! The ventilation is much improved over the previous version helmets. My head was cooler, did not sweat near as much, no “forehead waterfall” from this helmet. Forward vision is also greatly improved. The front of the Evade 3 sits higher than it’s precursors allowing for a much better field of view when in the drops. A person could even wear a cap with this helmet if they wanted- (but why?) The straps fit closer to the face for a better aero fit as well. Sunglasses also fit nicely in the front, although my Oakley Sutro S without ear grippers could easily slide out. (Oakleys fault for lack of rubber.) Sunglasses I’m very happy with my choice to get the Evade.
