2018 Men's Turbo Levo FSR Expert Carbon 6Fattie/29

Often times, we forget the true essence of why we ride—to enjoy ourselves. And while many of the ear-to-ear grins come from the exploration aspect of riding, what do you do when they slowly fade as you fall into the habit of riding the same routes, day in and day out? You grab a Turbo Levo FSR Expert Carbon 6Fattie/29, and experience the smile-inspiring power to ride more trails.

With it, you get the most advanced carbon technologies and engineering that come with all of our S-Works bikes, along with all of the hallmarks that our trail bikes are known for. This means that you get a 500-gram weight savings when compared to the alloy Levo, a roomy top tube for an easy fit and more control, ultra-short chainstays for nimble handling, and a low bottom bracket that makes the bike feel glued to the trail.

Then comes a FACT 9m carbon chassis, with an M5 alloy rear end, and efficient and powerful Turbo technology, integrating a battery, and a new Specialized 1.3 motor that delivers 15% more power than the previous version. This also delivers a sizeable increase in efficiency, while our exclusive Rx Trail Tune at the motor smoothly and quietly brings this additional power to the pedals, making climbing the steepest of trails nearly effortless. Of course, the output is fully adjustable to conserve energy, as well, while the custom motor is also the only one on the market that features instant pedal engagement, so you get immediate power the moment you need it, and consistent torque throughout the entire cadence range.

At the battery, you'll find that it's fully integrated with the down tube and easily removable for quick charging or swaps. It has a lengthy lifespan for hitting long, out of the way trails and, along with the motor, it's strategically placed for optimal weight distribution. You'll also find our Mission Control App for full control of the Turbo technology, an integrated Trail Display with all of the ride metrics you need, a Trail Remote that lets your easily switch between modes without removing your hands from the bars, and a power meter that shows exactly how much power you're putting out vs. the motor.

This version also has a 150mm Öhlins RXF36 fork, SRAM Code R brakes, and a SRAM X01 one-by groupset. It also features our 6Fattie wheel system that decreases deflection and dramatically increases traction, floatation, and fun over the trail. This system also allows you the opportunity to toggle between 29-inch wheels (not included) and 6Fattie wheels, allowing the ultimate in configuration options for the trail at hand.

long term review for those looking to buy used

I bought my '18 Levo expert in 2019 as a leftover and have had it 3 yrs. I weigh 180 lbs. It has had amazingly few issues. It has had no motor issues in about 2000 miles, and is quieter than most with no clunking or even rattling cables. The fork EVO upgrade was done, the Ohlins fork works great - I had it stretched to 160mm for 650b. It does have long chain stays but I've gotten used to them. It has only 135mm rear travel which is why I kept the 2.8 on the rear (now 2.6 front). Aside from my recent two violent casings, I often bottomed it out but never realized it at the time. I thought about upgrading the shock but came to realize it works very well if it doesn't overheat. And One great plus I didn't foresee was how great it is as a winter bike with 3.0" studs on - THIS IS HUGE. I have not ridden my fat bike once since I bought this bike, and I live in Alaska. 90% of the time I'm happy without the fat bike. Overall it has been and remains a great bike.

The Levo taught me I'm way to opinionated.

I was like the rest of the American mtb community when the levo came out; claiming that ebikes were cheating, for lazy people, will ruin our trails, and all the other cliche ebike slanders.. 3 years later I accidently stumbled upon a demo and was talked into demoing one. I ended up having the greatest time I've ever had in the 16+ years of mountain biking. I planned on just trying it out for a 10 mile ride and ended up taking it 35 miles. I kept it in trail mode the entire time and at the end of the ride, I was worked over. Its definitely a work out! I never thought climbing could be so fun and I actually jump better with the extra heft due to how stable it is. You feel super confident on it and its surprisingly nimble/playful, especially the more you get comfortable on it.. I decided to buy one thinking it would just be a fun 2nd bike. My Yeti has not been touched since and I have bought my wife and son one as well. I'm full blown hooked on ebikes!

Awesome bike for all terrain!

Who says eMTB's are for the weak? Heck NO!!! This bike takes you to places a traditional MTB bikes cannot achieved and still have the level of fitness that I expect to gain on every ride. The minute I saw the Levo Expert I fell in love with it and had no choice but to buy it. Although I have to admit, on my very first ride, I had issues on the speed when it cuts off over 20 mph on fire roads or flat areas, but, to my surprise! This bike comes alive when it comes to single tracts and tight technical climbs. The downhill on this bike is amazing!!! My fear of the fast decent went away and have slowly gained my confidence back. The bike is stable, grippy and and it corners really well. The suspension can sustain big drops and rocky terrain without any issues uphill or downhill. Overall, I am really happy with my purchase.

The most fun you can have on a bike!

I have been riding and racing mountain bikes for 30+ years, but developed AFIB and began a three year battle to remain in the saddle that I eventually lost. Tons of meds and two operations later, I had given up on biking as there was no way to effectively meter my output in the mountains; you have to ride what is in front of you. Then I rode a LEVO, WOW! what a bike! Not only can I customize every ride to the effort I want, but it is just a perfect bike in every way. Imagine, making a hill as flat or as steep as you want it, you pick your level of fitness training. However, for me the magic really begins when you point it downhill! I bought the Carbon Expert Fatti, and it is the most planted and balanced bike I've every ridden. It feels like a downhill bike with the weight, but you can huck it off anything and it just glides perfectly where you point it. The cockpit is super comfortable, and the tires bounce off or over everything without losing traction. I've tried to bust the tires loose in turns but they seem to stick no matter what I do. I ride it uphill on low assist, which is plenty for me, but at the end of the ride I ride the automatic mode and which will climb anything...really anything. Thanks Specialized for engineering the best bike I've ever ridden, up or down a mountain! You will feel like you are 10 years old again.....

A whole new world of Experience

Climbs and grips like nothing else. Superb feel of power control. Ohlins forks just feel great. Opens up all new terrains to explore without the need for specific mtn bike tracks. You can point it up any 4wd track or head up or down straight through the bush with confidence and full control. It is not a mtn bike or a enduro/ trials motorcycle but a whole new SILENT riding experience.

This is he bike I should've bought first!

I started out with another maker's machine but I should have backed my initial decision (to go electric) 100% and bought the Levo... It does everything I could ever need and more- most of my riding is mixed cross country but I have used the bike for road work and it does everything well..and it's always good fun!!!

Great Bike, Can't keep up with other eBikes

The bike works great as a mountain bike but because the motor cutout at 16mph, it can't keep up with other bikes that have power to 20mph. If Specialized could fix this flaw I would give them 5 stars.
