2019 Men's Diverge E5

The Diverge E5 is equipped with everything you need to head to work, take the long way home, or hit some fire roads on the weekend.

The Diverge is more capable than ever. And with the constant goal to best meet your needs, we took your number one request into account—tire clearance. The new frame will comfortably fit up to 700x38mm tires with plenty of room for mud, too. Along with tire clearance, weight was a large factor in the development, and taking some design cues from the development of the Roubaix, we developed an E5 Premium Aluminum frame that's plenty light, certainly stiff for hard efforts, and undeniable tough.

Next up, we moved away from a traditional 'cross geometry, instead opting for something that hasn't been seen before—our Open Road Geometry. You can think of it as a road version of modern trail bike geometry. It provides playful handling and predictable steering for endless dirt skids and mid-corner drifts. The geo features a bottom bracket that's over a half-centimeter lower than the previous Diverge, a slacked-out head tube angle, short chainstays, and a short wheelbase. These changes make for a bike that's not only fun in the dirt, but also performs well on the road.

Adding to its multifaceted talents, we topped it off with three water bottle mounts, plus mounts for racks and fenders. For the spec, we wanted to make sure that it shifted crisply and braked smoothly for years to come, so you'll find a Shimano Claris groupset, hassle-free mechanical disc brakes, and a durable Axis Sport Disc wheelset that's been cased in our fast-rolling Espoir Sport tires.

Great Gravel Starter

This frames geometry is awesome for balanced comfort, agility, and speed! I ordered this cheapest model thru LBS. I then stripped off everything except brakes. I built up frame and fork w/ all Force 1 components, Easton carbon bars, seatpost and stem. I had Prowheelbuilder lace up Velocity Ailerons and Dt Swiss 350 hubs. I love my alloy Red Rocket!! It's cheaper to buy the lowest priced complete than Specialized Diverge framesets!!

Tough Bike

I have put put almost 1300 miles on this bike and it is a keeper. I use it for commuting and for long rides. The saddle it comes with is garbage and was promptly replaced with a high quality specialized saddle. I also have had the chain pop off a couple times, but I put it back on without issue. My bottom bracket also was creaking and was taken apart by my LBS and greased. I have not had any problems since. This is why it only got 4 stars. With all that aside, it is light, tough, fast, quiet, and smooth. I do not baby my bikes and it has held up pretty well.

I ride this back weekly and it does everything I want it to do. Hills, trails, straight road, off road. Sure-fitted to just about any terrain you can throw at it. I love this bike!

Love my Diverge

I have the 2018 E5 sport Diverge and I absolutely love it. I feel stable and free to push it on the road or gravel but still fast and agile when I need to be. I recommend this bike to anyone on a budget looking for something they can do just about anything on.

Fun and nimble beyond my expectations

I did not expect to love this bike so much. It just works so well especially for the entry level version of the Diverge family. All the componets have worked well and smooth. Handling is tight and nimble which makes tight curvy hardpacked trails a riot. Being a heavier rider and this bike as many miles as I have alrady put on it I am also enjoying upgrading it.

Beautiful bike

The test ride hooked me and I love this bike - light, fast, nimble, the steering is true and it feels like you're in the cockpit and an integral part of the bike. I use the 30mm tires, it's a great pavement ride and off-road more comfortable than I had hoped. Minor complaint: I wish the headseat could be raised- the sitting angle is a little hard on my 60+ y.o. back. I also miss an ultra low granny gear for very steep climbs, and there is no mounting ability for racks or fenders. But overall, it's a wonderful set of wheels.

WHOLY ***T!

What a machine, the E5 is an upgradable platform with so much potential. 6 months in and I cant be happier. Slightly heavy - amazingly strong. Send'er down any trail and rip the daily commute with no worries. Ships with fantastic wheels and tyres plus thu-axels at this pricepoint, game changer... Not to mention - MASIVE tire clearance, and the integrated fender system. Beast. Overall, great value for the price and an absolute rocket.
