2019 Butcher BLCK DMND 2Bliss Ready

The latest generation of the World-Cup-proven intermediate tire, the Butcher BLCK DMND 2Bliss Ready, receives sawtooth faces on the tread blocks to increase stability under load and provide additional biting edges. This in turn improves rolling speed as well as control under hard braking and cornering. Meanwhile, our proprietary GRIPTON® compound improves high frequency damping, attaching the tire to the ground better on both small bumps and rough sections. The low frequencies of the rolling tire deflections pass through unfiltered, leaving no energy absorbed, keeping speed high. Once you ride the Butcher, you'll never want another tire for your gravity excursions. The new BLCK DMND casing strikes the balance between suppleness and extreme pinch flat protection. In order to descend all-out, you need as much traction as possible—the tire needs to conform and hold on to the ground, but also protect from pinch flats. In order for this to happen, only the treaded part of the tire needs to conform, grip, and dampen, while the tire base offers stability and support for steering inputs.

Burly and grippy.

I own this tire in the T9 gravity on my squish bike and grabbed one for my hardtail. For a front at my size (185lbs) I’d recommend these stiffer versions as the Grid gets loose in hard corners. That said, the black diamond is a burly beast even compared to the T9. I was pretty surprised how stiff the tire is. Performance wise it’s especially grippy in loose and comparable to anything else on the market otherwise. Size is pretty close to standard when mounted.

More grip than a DHF

Grippiest tire on the market, works in all types of dirt very versatile. No leaky sidewalls no fuss with install and they last a long time!

Excellent tyres, fitted as standard to my Kenevo 2020

Very happy with the performance of the tyres, have ridden hard over some pretty rough rock terrain, no issues at all, just converted to tubeless , no problems yet

Supple and predictable tire.

Superior side wall protection and supple feel in the 2.6 compared to all of the Maxxis tires I have tried. This tire replaced my 2.5 assegai up front. It's lot more predictable and doesn't get knocked around like a pinball.

Sidewall is legit

Haven't mounted yet, but the sidewall thickness is very legit. Second set of Butchers, but first with Blck Dmd, which is way thicker than the Grid. I can't imagine it being more robust. I don't think I'll need cushcore. For hard charging ebike in the chunch in SW Utah. Long time Minion rider but the sidewalls are just too thin unless you get the dd, and that doesn't come in enough sizes, and not nearly as burly as this. If you ride an ebike like in the sharp chuck like you stole it, this is looking very promising. Well thought out design, which a rider's actual need in mind. So glad this exists.

Great eMTB rear tyre option.

I like to ride a tougher casing on the rear of my eMTBs, as the higher weight leaves lighter carcasses struggling. I run a 2.8"" tyre on the back of my Levo hardtail, but there are very few options for tyres this size and tougher casings, so the Butcher Blck Dmnd 2.8 is a really welcome development! Traction is great, both climbing and braking, and I can run pressures around 25psi (tubeless) without fear of rim damage. I only hope that the Eliminator might be made available in this width and casing too, some time down the line...

No More Pinch Flats

Running this tire on the 2018 Kenevo Expert and have not had a pinch flat since switching from the Butcher GRIDs that came stock of the Kenevo. I am a heavier rider at 210 lbs (95 kg) with gear and the BLCK DMND tires are holding up better than the GRIDs.

Best tire on the market

Absolutely love these tires. I ride a lot of loose, rocky trails that really like to cut/slice rear tires. These more than step up to the plate. Since putting these on I have had 0 pinch flats or tears in my tires. They're the perfect bridge between a DH tire for enduro riding, but without the extra weight of having DH casing.
