Love Her

Got my Tarmac SL8 Expert for my birthday as an upgrade from a 2017 Trek Damane that I purchased used. Love love, love this bike. When I tell you in the flats, I am moving and able to keep up in group rides with a lot of the faster riders. The geometry of the Specialized is just perfect for my build with longer legs and arms, but not really considered a tall person (5’4). If you’re contemplating getting it, just get it. I may do an upgrade on my climbing gear later so that I can get some more climbing gears but overall I love the bike exactly the way it is.

Had 4 weeks now

Had a Prism Shop Custom Factor VAM OSTRO. Got totaled after being hit by UPS truck. Went with Specialized SL8 for new bike. Why? The SL8 is exactly 2. 7 pounds lighter than my Ostro and much stiffer. That 2. 7 pounds difference feels like 10 pounds on the round. SL8 is super light…fully built with SRAM RED and ENVE 4. 5s…15lbs. Love it!

Worth It!!

I been riding for a while and thought I would do a big upgrade from an old aero bike (rim brake) this bike completely exceeded my expectations and made me ask myself, why did I wait this long! Great Bike and puts a smile on my face everytime.

Fast and Stiff!

This bike has been nothing short of fantastic. It handles exactly like your intend. I swapped the 38mm rims with some deeper carbon rims and it absolutely flys while being light enough for any climbing. The bottom bracket stiffness is great for sprinting. I have PRed in most routes I usually do unintentionally. Highly recommended.

Wow!

I'm quite surprised by the ride and handling of this bike. I've been riding an Aethos for just over two years and love the bike. It is as comfortable as the Aethos but it does track faster, corners faster, accelerates faster and there is more of a 'road surface feel' compared to the Aethos. I ride approx. 10k miles per year and participate in approx. ten or so races per year as well and as a lead group rider, not pack fodder lol. I've never had a complaint about the way the Aethos handles in a race but I do notice the difference between the two just in training, race season not yet started. The SL8 is a superb bike whether on a moderate paced ride or full gas performance.

Amazing Bike

Absolutely love this bike. Have used it for Saturday morning rides, my Wahoo trainer, and a full Ironman. Very fast and versatile!
