They've made a clamp here to fit all 7x7mm rails and 7x9mm rails but they want to charge you over £40 to get it delivered. Specialized bikes are already overpriced compared to their competitors and this sort of thing really puts me off the brand. Tried to talk to support but they basically ignored me when questioned why they don't install this by default. Gave me some rubbish about "not providing parts for things customers might want to upgrade later".

Clamp itself is great and easy to fit, but it's a bit of a shame, and moreover a waste in these modern times, that you are forced to buy the entire set. I already had the clamp which came with my bike - 7x7mm alloy clamp ears - but in order to get the 7x9mm clamp ears for a new Spesh saddle, I had to buy the entire clamp set which also comes with both 7x7mm AND 7x9mm ears, when in fact, I just needed the 7x9mm ears, not the clamp, nor the 7x7mm ears (I now have 2 sets of them!). The ears should be sold separately to save the consumer money, help reduce waste. I just bought the specialised romin mirror 3d saddle as I'm struggling with comfort, and at that price point, to have the additional cost of the clamp set too is a bit much. As I say, the clamp is good but just being honest.

Switched to a non carbon rail saddle for more comfort made it super easy

Bought a carbon saddle and was worried about the 7+9 rails. I already had this on my bike. I was worried abut buying the new part. I have friends who have been struggling to find solutions for their bikes. Thank you for making this easier Specialized.
