2018 Turbo Como 2.0 Low-Entry 650b

The Turbo Como 2.0 Low-Entry 650b has one goal and one goal only—to inspire you to get out, get moving, and to have some fun along the way. It achieves this with its Turbo technology that makes the ride faster, so you're guaranteed to have a wide smile on your face.

Beginning with a completely redesigned and integrated Specialized 1.2 motor, the Como 2.0 proves itself as the fastest, most comfortable urban bike you've ever perched yourself upon. First off, our proprietary Rx Street Tune takes the power of a belt-driven motor that's smooth, silent, and free of annoying vibrations, and makes it optimized for riding in an urban environment by reacting to the amount of force you apply to the pedals. Think of it this way: The more power you put out, the more power the motor puts out, and this makes accelerations from a standstill both quick and efficient. Perfect.

We also developed a custom Specialized U1-460 battery that seamlessly integrates into the frame, plus it's lockable and easily removable for simplified charging. With this battery, the Turbo Como delivers some extra "oomph," with plenty of juice to accompany you on your cruise down the bike path, a trip to the grocery store, or even to that new café on the other side of the city.

We also developed a custom 2.2-inch smart computer that lets you view your battery level and toggle various ride metrics such as speed, distance, and time. You can also peruse these screens via the custom handlebar remote without ever removing your hands from the bars.

This Como also features our Ground Control Geometry that makes it easy to put a foot down at a stop sign, while eliminating the struggle of getting on and off the bike. The 650b wheels have also been paired with 2.3-inch tires, so it can roll over most cracks, bumps, and holes with ease to ensure that nothing stands in your way on your path to a good time. For the build, you'll find everything you need to get out and enjoy the sunshine, comfortably and worry free. Along these lines, there are powerful Tektro hydraulic disc brakes, reliable 9-speed Shimano shifting, and a comfortable saddle.

battery will not charge on my Como turbo 2.0

I am very disappointed because I've had this bike for less than a year in the battery will not charge. It went from 100% to charging to 80% and the next time it charge to about 25% and now it only charges to 10% and I'm sure it's going to die. I will have to wait over a month for a new battery and a new battery is $1,000 and this bike is not even a year.

I LOVE THIS E-BIKE!!!

I was diagnosed with cancer four years ago, and it quickly became very difficult to walk or ride a bicycle up steep hills, so I started to shy away from riding or walking at all. Then came along e-bikes and I was all-in, starting with a used throttle mountain bike we found on Craigs List. But it was a little too much bike for me to handle ... very top-heavy, hard to get on and off (crossbar model), etc. After a few little ""mishaps,"" I told my husband I needed a different bike more suited to my abilities. So I test drove this Specialized Como Step-Thru model at our local bike shop in Lake Tahoe and was hooked! We have a new bike trail on the North Shore of Lake Tahoe that goes from Incline Village to Sand Harbor, and it has a few steep (and long!) uphill segments. I can now fly up those hills with ease while still getting the exercise I need, and it has changed my life. I LOVE THIS BIKE!!! It's so balanced, easy to ride, and a smooth ride ... it feels like a regular bike in all ways until I have to turn on the power, then it really goes! I passed the throttle bike over to my husband and now we can ride anywhere together. I have been a recreational rider since my teens (no extreme mountain biking for this 60-year-old), and was missing it tremendously until I found the Como. There are future plans for the bike trail to circumvent the entire lake, and I can't wait for that day to come! In the meantime, we'll ride the paved bike trails as we find them, both in Tahoe and on our travels across the western states.

Prepare to have your mind blown

Are you still riding analog? It's fricking 2019! Ebikes are taking over the world! My Como 2.0 has changed my life. Do you want to ball with the slugs or run that electric train all the way to GAINZ town? I slobber with glee as I pedal up and defeat the steepest of bridge climbs. I laugh as tears of joy spray from my eyes and splash upon those struggling as I pass them. Listen to the @Como.klng. Drop everything and make moves to get one. COMO!

Game changer

I have knee and hip problems which make traditional biking painful but not impossible. With this bike, I can get the exercise I want and be able to climb hills, bike on grass etc without ANY pain or undue exertion. The peddle assist kicks in immediately which is so helpful when starting up an incline from a dead stop. Not all ebikes have that feature. I knew after my first test ride that this was the bike for me.

A rare product that completely meets its billing. FUN!

I have a hybrid bicycle that I found increasingly hard to use. There is great bicycling around Seattle and I longed to enjoy the experience that I remembered when I was a kid on a Schwinn. My requirements included a larger, softer seat for my derriere, an upright seating position to enjoy the view and remove stress on my neck, wide handlebars with comfortable grips, new technology over my 20 year old hybrid, a low entry to reduce stress on my hips, and an ability to wear any clothes I wanted without the numerous hard core logo encrusted riders we have here sneering at me (maybe they still do). After a friend invited me for a ride on his E-bike, I was sold. After a research visit to my local bicycle emporium and after describing to the salesman my needs, I immediately noticed and became attached to the Como 2.0. Buying it was one of the best things I've ever done. First of all, it's beautiful in the blue-gray color and never fails to illicit comment from at least two strangers on my rides. Quality of design and construction is immediately evident. The very first thing I think of when riding is ""Boy, this sure is fun."" I could ride all day and enjoy the experience. Changing gears and pedal assist levels is easy. My range is over 40 miles before battery gets into the last level, and my charge time after battery depletion is about 6-7 hours. This meets the published specifications. The only thing I might have done differently is opt for the Turbo Como 3.0 with the larger battery capacity. Bottom line: the Como is a thrill. This E-Bike hits it out of the ballpark and without a doubt meets its goal: to inspire one to get out, get moving, and to have some fun along the way ... so you're guaranteed to have a wide smile on your face. Bingo!

Delivers more than advertised

My wife and I recently purchased two of these. We took them out to the Tanglefoot trail this past labor day. We decided to ride until we were down two bars on the the power indicator and then head back. At 25 miles we were still not down two bars. We decided that 50 miles was enough for us so we turned around and headed back. At the completion of our 50 mile ride we still has two bars remaining. We never had the power assist over the #1 setting and we maintained 11 miles per hour as our average. I'm very impressed with the bikes.

Love this bike!

The battery kicks in seamlessly and makes the rolling hills of the bike trail in Ketchum, Idaho inviting, not intimidating! Rode twice as long on my first ride than I ever did on my regular bike. Great bike!
