2018 All Condition Armadillo Elite

The All Condition Armadillo Elite is the most flat-resistant tyre available. Impressively though, it has performance characteristics that far exceed many competitor's race tyres. We've given it a tread pattern that offers excellent all-weather traction, and newly-sourced materials for the best puncture protection possible. In terms of ride quality, our GRIPTON compound is surpassed by none. It provides low rolling resistance and the ultimate in dry and wet condition traction. Without hyperbole, it's the best flat-resistant, high-performance tyre that we've ever made.

Rubber falls off tire, not as good as tires of the past

I have used other Armadillo tires in the past and they would last me for over three years. This tire in about six months started to crack and in ten months the rubber is falling off the tire. I ride to work every day.

These tires are as good as it gets for toughness and ride!

I love my all Condition Armadillo Elite tires that are on my Specialzed Diverge. The roads of Western Maine are treacherous from both the weather and frost heaves, yet I always maintain great traction and glide over the broken pavement.

Ideal Training Tire

This tire seems to strike the perfect balance between weight and durability. I'm rolling on the 700x23 version, which is only 15 measly grams heavier than the 700x25 Espoir Elite tire I used before, but which gives me a ton more confidence when it comes to rough roads and road debris. Basically, the weight penalty over the Espoir is nil, but this tire seems much tougher. Another noteworthy difference between the Espoir and the Armadillo Elite is that while I found the Espoir to be more ""plush"" feeling, it never felt trustworthy in hard corners. The Armadillo Elite, on the other hand, has a slightly harsher ride due to its tough construction, but it also feels like it ""hooks up"" better in corners. Not sure if that's due to profile or rubber compound or what, but I dig it! Overall, if the standard All Condition Armadillo is overkill for your riding environment, but you want something tougher than the Espoir, I think the All Condition Armadillo Elite is a great option. Great tire, Big S!

Great tire!

I've been riding for over 30 years about 5-6K miles a year on the road. Recently I bought some new wheels that can be used as tubeless and came with tubeless tires…so I tried them. At first the lower PSI was a noticeable improvement in comfort, but then came the punctures…they sealed up but after a spray of sealant all over and a loss in air pressure which had to be replaced. This was happening too often, I was accustomed to the Armadillo…thousands of miles without a flat. As most of you would agree a long ride without a flat is great. Tubeless on the mtb is great and no flats. Maybe it's the much wider tire and lower air pressure, I can only fit a 25c on the older road bike frame. So, I'm back to the Armadillos and great road rides. Thank you Specialized for such a reliable tire.

Out with the new in with the old

I rode the older armadillo tyre with the prominent red stripes for years then had to switch to this new one, the rubber is falling apart after leaving it outside for less than a year. I left the old tires out in the elements for 3 years and never had any issues. I dont have confidence in the rubber hence the traction. The new rubber compound is garbage and now I'm left to scower the internet for the older version.

fan-heckin-tastic piece of gear

I own the 25mm version, and I've successfully ridden on surfaces ranging from smooth tarmac to light gravel to dried-out truck tracks on farm roads. As someone who likes to explore alone on my road bike, knowing that I will get back to the car without a flat is super freeing. Long live the 'dillos.

Perfect tires

I have used them on my old bike, a Tricross, now just purchased new Roval 24 wheels so I can use them on my new Sequoia. Tires go places not advertised, way farther off road than you might think as long as no mud. I have used them on many dirt/gravel rides. Wet streets, no problem. And no flats yet...the stock rear tire on my Sequoia punctured twice already, so the move to these tires. Specialized, please make them larger than 32c... Best tire ever

A Works

I ride about 7000 miles a year. I change my armadillos once a year. No flats in two years. Great in all conditions. S Works Roubaix riding Armadillos (28mm) at 75-80 psi. These are great.
