We deliver! Just say when and how.
You might say that you love your pack, but the massive sweat stain on your back says otherwise. It's time that you carry your trail essentials in the most logical manner possible—carry them with our Mountain Liner Bib Shorts with SWAT™. With them, we were able to create a patent-pending design that houses five integrated SWAT™ pockets on the shorts themselves. The pockets sit flush against the body, and they're shaped and structured to ensure that their contents won't ever come bouncing out. Additionally, the pockets vary in size and location, which means that you'll always have a perfectly shaped pocket for your big and small items, alike.
As for the shorts, we designed them to stand on their own, not literally, but in the sense that you'd love wearing them with or without the nifty pockets. To do so, we made them from our beyond lightweight VaporRize™ mesh fabrics for the utmost in comfort and breathability, while the 8.5-inch inseam (size Medium) plays nicely with shorts when you're layering.
VaporRize™ mesh fabrics are extremely cool, comfortable, and lightweight, while creating a dual benefit of being highly effective at moisture wicking and evaporation.
Patented & integrated SWAT™ pockets house all of your trail essentials, putting everything you need right where you want it. We also included a secure zipper back pocket and two side leg pockets on this bib short for the ultimate amount of cargo space.
3D Chamois is pre-molded to match the shape of the body for exceptional comfort.
8.5" inseam (size Medium).

I have several of these and have been using them exclusively for about 4-5 years. Nice that I can carry tools and a spare water bottle without a pack on 3 hr rides. The rear pockets secure their contents snugly in place without drama. I also appreciate that the chamios pad doesn't extend up over my junk plus it has a fly for added convenience. They seem a little snug initially but for me they loosen up to a perfect fit by the end of the first ride.
Might be the worst pair of bibs I have purchased. Pockets much to high so access if very difficult. Bib straps are not long enough, have almost no stretch to them so they feel very constrictive and fabric was so abrasive I got chaffing on my chest after a one hour ride. Even though the sale price is a great deal, I would advise you do not purchase these.
Got these on a closeout. Sad deal. Too thin and pad is way too short. Hope the latest version is more like the original. I see they are over $200 now. Should have bought newer version. You get what you pay for.
I have a pair of these I have used for 5 years. My favorite bike shorts by far. Bib is great and fits my 5' 7" body fine, and I love all the pockets - 1 has a zipper for keys/wallet. Two small critiques: 1) the silicone at the leg openings prevents compression/seamless fit. 2) see through - I have to wear non patterned undies so others don't notice. This was brought to my attention by my wife ...
The first iteration of the SWAT liner was amazing. So I went back and bought three pairs when the time came. The newest iteration is soooo bad. The chamois is waaaaay too short up front and the shorts are basically unusable. I assume the chamois was shortened so they could have a fly, but I'd way rather no fly and a full length chamois. A real bummer this happened, because otherwise these were the best cargo liner out there my a mile.
I had a hard time finding a size that fit. I wear a S in Velocio and the Specialized x Fjallraven cargo bibs, but I could not fit into a S in this and barely fit into the M. I had a an early version of these bibs and the M was too big. Sizing is all over the place with these. Steer clear or order the whole set of sizes.
The shorts hike up and only come down to mid-thigh. They were an awkward fit and I returned them.
As the title suggests, I wanted to like these, as they appear to be quite high quality. However they just don't fit like any other cycling bibs/shorts/tights I own and I definitely needed to size up one from what I typically wear for a comfortable fit. Bummer, because they don't have the next size up any more.
Great kit and fit!
Very nice to ride in
Smoothly … a very good cooling technology. The liner doesn’t go all the way to the front but it covers very well the principal zones of contact, I have been using short liners before for so long and this is my firs bib, feel more breathable and fit well, just runs small I’m 5.11” 205 lb , bought the XL size just the shoulder a little tight , then everything fine
Storage is awesome. Good deep pockets. True to what others have said, IT RUNS SMALL. This is actually the second one I have purchased, because the first just turned out to be too small. Padding is great, price was right (got it on sale)
Love the pockets, useful. Size runs smaller than usual.
Been riding SWAT bibs for years now and they just keep getting smaller and tighter, and no...I have remained the same weight. It's race fit, with these and you need to have a VERY small package to run these or it's going to be tug town the whole ride. PLEASE Specialized, make clothes for real people and not XC 120lbers built like Ken. Thank you
I bought the Liner Bib shorts with SWAT based on the size guide. The thigh/crotch area is a little tight but that is ok. The big problem is that the straps are way too tight. They are short and my shoulders feel vertically compressed. I am 170cm (XS is supposed to fit 169-177cm) and I cannot imagine how someone who is 177cm will be able to fit into the straps.
Nice for gravel ride
The SWAT/pocket system is solid. They run small, so I had to size up. Even with this, they feel a bit short in the torso. Otherwise they're great and I came back to buy another pair.
Overall this version is inferior to the previous versions. I am unsure why, but almost all specialized gear from 2022 onwards seems to have shrunk half a size or more. This includes helmets! Its really frustrating to have a product you love change so drastically to the point of being unwearable. These are no exception. The "pee pocket" takes away from the comfort of the bibs as that area is now unpadded. Bring back the old non pee pocket styles and stop making clothes for the thinnest/tiniest humans you can find.
5’7” 138lbs small fits perfect, straps a bit on the short side, swat pockets a bit on the high side, makes it a bit hard to reach… but overall a great product, might actually try a medium next time around.
I've had these before but the material near the chamois degraded within a couple of months. Specialized Customer Care miserably failed to resolve my claim so I just wrote it off. I bought another one because one, it's the best bib and chamois pads I've owned to date and two) it went on sale.
Love it but sizing is weird. I am 5'11'' and am wearing a XL, the suspenders are tight but the legs and fit is snug but not super tight.
I am a short medium at 5’ 8”……the straps are way to short, have no stretch and are really abrasive. Kicking myself for not trying on before I could return. Huge disappointment an waste of money
I've heard shoulder straps run small but fits me fine. Medium and I'm 5'6. Quality is excellent
The design and fit of the chamois is disappointing to say the least. The chamois isn’t very ‘long’ in the front of you catch my drift. And as a result your delicates don’t have any contact with the chamois but rather the fabric and seam of the fly area. This causes irritation quite quickly.
As others have mentioned here, this item runs extremely small and I am unable to return. The straps dig into my shoulders and I can not use them.
I have a previous version of these liner shorts which I love. I bought this newer version assuming I would get approximately the same fit. The new ones have more compression and the straps are shorter so are uncomfortable. The quality is fine, but the fit from the previous version is different. I’ve been cycling for a long time and tend to stick with brands based on fits that work for me so it was surprising that these fit completely different than the previous version.
We've been riding SWAT bibs since they came out. The fit of the newer ones is way off. They run VERY SMALL. The whole fit is off. The bib straps are way to short and cut into your shoulder, the fit of the short itself is also VERY small. We returned them. If you are able to try them on a dealer, do it before buying online.
Great MTB under short bibs with nice storage pockets and the added fly is nice. Nice fit and the chamois very comfortable.
Perfect MTB bib shorts. Nice storage.
Following the size chart should be a great way to determine one’s size right? I don’t know if you guys do any kind of testing before you produce clothing, but the sizing is way off. Purchased these for an upcoming trip, but made the mistake of not trying them on during the ridiculous 30 day return window, so now I’m stuck with the worlds worst pair of bibs ever.
Extremely thin and strangely short straps.
Had an old pair of these and wore them into the ground. I went a size up after reading the reviews and found that to work great for me. Sizing up made the Lycra a bit looser than I’m normally used to but the shoulder straps would be unbearable at any smaller size. Turns out the bibs are pretty comfortable this way. My only complaint is that the pockets are pretty high up on my back making them hard to access but I usually just put my phone and maybe a snack or two back there so it’s not like I’m constantly having to get into the pockets. The chamois is comfortable. Not too thick not too thin. I like having the fly, saves me from awkwardly trying to pull the bibs down in the front while executing a natural. Good price. I bought two.
I’m 5’11” and 215lbs, size large fits me perfectly. The pockets are strong enough for my wallet, keys and cel phone. I don’t feel the seams at all, great fit, I barely feel it on. Thanks!
The straps are to tight, no stretch and poor padding Disappointing purchase Only worn once and will not ware again.
Great fit. Love the pockets and fly
My first pair of riding bibs but really enjoyed the storage and comfort.
Runs a bit small, especially the straps.
The sizing on this is all over the place. I ordered a size up because every review said to do so. Thighs, waist, lower torso fit great. Upper torso is tight — my lats were spilling over the armpits, which could be my own body — I'm not overweight but I do work out a fair amount. The biggest issue is overall product length, which is too short. If the bib straps stretched in any significant way this may have been OK, but they don't, so they dig into my shoulders. Changing that one detail might fix all the problems but again, everything is just so mixed up. That all being said, my biggest disappointment is that I couldn't keep it because the functional elements are outstanding. The bottom 2 inches of the pockets on the back can hang down over the waistband of an outer layer. Hard to explain but awesome. It has A FLY. Amazing. And again, the lower body feels great. I hope the fit issues get fixed because I will ABSOLUTELY buy it once that's done. Til then I just can't recommend it.
Love the pull to the side fly for trailside whiz. The chamois is great even though slightly shorter for the pull to the side fly. Material is super breathable, could use some stretch in the suspenders. The short retention loops on the hips are fantastic. Runs way small. I have worn large in Specialized bibs for years and these were a bit short until I hand washed air dried them. Then they were super short can't wear these anymore. So now the pockets in the back that were really hard to reach, are not reachable. I do wish the leg pockets were larger vertically for a phone.
These liners breathe better than prior editions, which is most welcome in warm weather riding.
Finally someone has figured it out ! A liner that attaches to your shorts ! Plus a fly to easily and comfortably take a pee ! 5’10” 160 lbs med a bit small . Large fit perfectly !!
They’re good enough that I own 3 pairs, however with a few tweaks I’d own more. I wear a medium in the non-liner SWAT bibs and they fit great, but I have to size up to the L for the liner bibs and they still are a bit too tight on the shoulders. So either lengthen the top section of the bibs or build the top out of the more stretchy material and we’d have ourselves a 5 star product.
I actually really like these bib liners. Definitely designed to be worn under shorts, as they're made with a thinner meshy material. The pad is solid and really comfortable and the pockets are great, which is why I bought them. But as others have mentioned, these definitely run one size smaller than advertised. I'm normally a medium in everything with a 32 waist, and needed a large in these because the straps aren't super elastic and the fit is just smaller. Otherwise, I really like them!
The bottom half of these bibs were the right size but the straps were too short/not elastic.
Best bibs I have even worn, run a bit small if you are a big guy but super comfy in the..uhhh lower regions.
Good and comfortable chamois. Fits well and the option to connect trail shorts or pants is great.
Like previous reviews noted, Specialized seems to have tweaked the fit on their bib liners. I used a medium for several years, but this pair was very tight. Size up!
I own 2 pairs of the older model and needed another. I have found the fit to be good. I've had no problem with the shoulder straps and have found the rear pockets as easy to reach as the older model. I like the little zip pocket. The legs are shorter than the older model. Also the chamois is a shorter design, not as nice on the gravel bike but works good on the MTB. No shock there, they are a MTB short. Overall I'm happy with them.
Smaller than advertised but I like its features, next time I would go large instead of medium
The sleek-fit storage is top notch in these babies.
I am 6'0"", 175lbs slim build and the large fits perfect. I do have the older version of these in size medium so the sizing has changed a little. The pockets are great, on a big ride last week I carried a full soft flask in the left and right back pockets and an extra long sleeve in the middle back. Also stuffed all my nutrition in the right leg pocket which paired with the access zipper of the Enduro Pro shorts worked perfectly. I also appreciate the small zippered storage on the back pocket and the fly up front for easy access when you need it.
As said in some other reviews the original mountain swat bibs were great. They were stretchy and comfortable I am still wearing mine from 2018. These new ones are built terribly. They are uncomfortable and dig into your shoulders. The chamois pad is much smaller compared to what it used to be. The material doesn't feel nice on your skin and the pockets are much harder to access. These bibs feel like they are made out of cloth vs the old style used a much nicer material. Please bring back the old style fit and materials used specialized
I'm a true fan of Specialized, but this product is not at all what the first generation offered. Frankly, I think Specialized shipped me the wrong product. I loved the original version, but whatever I got is awful. The whole point of SWAT is to put your phone in the pockets... I mean, right? My phone fell out while riding a DH trail!!! The prior versions had no issue with phone movement or ditching... The fit on the new design is way to tight and the straps are like more like spaghetti straps vs something that feels put together.
Great product! padding is effective, however I would prefer if it was a little thinner and harder. Fit is good, but I an glad my torso isn't longer as the straps are on the short side. Tends to fit small. I am 5' 7"" and 150lbs and the medium is a tight (but good) fit. The sizing chart said I should fit S-M, but small wouldn't have fit me. Pockets and fly are outstanding. Had no problems reaching them, and placement in the small of the back is great. There are snaps on the side that look like they are for ... ?keys? ... not sure. I don't feel comfortable using them for keys, because I think I could lose them in a crash. Perhaps a zipped pocket in the small of the back for them would be better. I am a fan of bibs, and these replaced a pair of specialized with the fluorescent green pad I had for YEARS. I would buy these again - keep up the good work.
Had the original SWAT shorts and I don't remember the pockets as being as high as this one. Yes, you can feel the seams of the chamois during long road rides, but it's an mtb bib so it's not meant to be sat on as much, and yes, the straps are so so compared to my Assos. But I digress as it's an mtb bib....Did I - along with a bunch of others - mention that the pockets are too high?
Overall, the design is flawed. The pockets are so high up on your back making it impossible to reach things. I will not buy again until they redesign.
This was the product I wanted. Great pocket design as I like how they hang over the shorts. When it arrived though the top part has no stretch, so you could hear it start to rip as I pulled it on. Even the bottoms were tight. I am 5'5"" 130lb and was trying the small. I am a 30 waist so in the middle of this. Tight and short all around plus no stretch. As though it was designed by someone who hasn't ridden. Bought a pair of the Yeti single track shorts - maybe too stretchy but such a great design. And also a pair of the Fox equivalents - great bib, but the pocket design is lacking.
The fabric is not as comfortable or elastic on the last few versions of these that I purchased. They run small and short compared to my other Specialzed bibs, and are much less comfortable. I like that these hold my shorts up, and I can't go without that feature anymore, but I sure wish they'd make a taller/more elastic variant as these don't fit my body correctly, dig into my shoulders uncomfortably, and when nature calls, things are also sub-optimal. These have also moved where the shoulder straps cross my body, and being big and tall, this has an undesirable ""wonderbra"" effect that this man would prefer not to have. If I could buy their older style and size bibs. but with the little loops for my shorts, I'd be set!
I am 5'8"" 159 The bibs are well made and absolutely rad but the shoulder straps are too short and therefore dig into my shoulder. Aside from that the fit is perfect. I always wear med in bibs. Storage is perfect. Rad Design
Comfortable bibs. The cool add is the fly on these shorts.
Packs suck! Sweaty backs suck! SWAT bibs allow me to carry everything I need for 90% of my rides, especially since I have the SWAT storage in my downtube and the SWAT tools on my bike. As a system, SWAT allows me to carry everything I need and keep the weight low and evenly distributed instead of high and all in one place. I still sometimes use a pack on super long rides where I can't get water mid-ride but other than that I just carry small water filter in my SWAT so I can refill my bottle along the way instead of having to carry a bunch of heavy water the entire ride. TL:DR - buy these bibs now, you won't be bummed!
