My wife wanted a new helmet, I suggested this one after getting one myself earlier this year. Light weight, well vented and fits nice. Highly recommended!

Great helmet. I like the looks and the fit and it has the MIPS system. I’ve had a wreck wearing one of these helmets and my head hit the pavement hard at 18mph. I didn’t feel a thing.

This is my new favorite helmet. I want to wear it every ride. The size large was a little too large so I exchanged it for a medium and now it fits perfectly. Every helmet is different.

Love this helmet! The only brand I'll buy b/c it fits perfectly. Adjusts with ease. This is the 3rd Specialized helmet I've bought. I have one at my house & one at a friend's. Bought the 3rd b/c one was damaged in a bike accident.

I was never a person to wear a helmet, but as I am riding more and more and leaves, pine cones etc. are appearing I do not want to take the chance of taking a spill and hitting my head. So I found this helmet the was light, stylish and extremely comfortable. So much in fact the I bought two! Loved the color choices.

This helmet this so much quieter than my last one. Not to mention the ventilation is outstanding. Glad I took a chance on this product. It's also a lot lighter.

I have a medium sized head that's around 57cm, when I tried this, it looked great but the issue I realized is that I was having pressure around the side of the my head, so it didn't fit well for me, I ended up returning it due to this, otherwise it's a great helmet.

Fits perfectly and vents work well to keep my head cool

The helmet is very adjustable. I have a small, narrow head and most helmets have way too much room on the sides. It is easy to find a helmet that is not for narrow/oval heads, but very hard to find one that is a narrow width. This one fits where no other helmets have so far, including other Specialized helmets I've tried in the same size. The height and circumference adjustments are very nice. The helmet feels very well padded. The only improvement I would have liked to see is a lower weight - the small I got is 303.3 grams.

I am now on my second one. I had my first one for about 11 miles. Lost control and went over the bars. Landed on my back and slammed my head on the ground. Ended up with 5 stitches and a black eye. Split the helmet in half. It saved me. So happy that I had a quality helmet on. Thanks for doing a great job with the design.

Fantastic helmet has already saved my life as I was cut off at around-about the first day I wore it, landed on the side of my head. Very little damage to the helmet. Just a couple of dents didn’t even take the paint off. Shoulder is still giving me trouble but I am riding again after 2 weeks off and a bit of acupuncture.

I'm really happy with this helmet. At its price point, ventilation is far better than my previous fairly entry-level helmet, and it definitely feels light enough. The inclusion of MIPS for added protection was also something I was looking for, and this definitely fits the bill. I'd recommend this helmet.

Light and comfy..

Coming from the cheapest helmet option on Amazon, this was a significant upgrade I found through Wirecutter’s best recommendations. Great airflow, fit, and comfort.

My head shape is a long oval. I was able to find a very comfortable fit within the adjustment range of the Echelon 2. Some say this helmet is a few grams heavier than it needs to be. I say it weighs several grams less than other helmets in the same price range. The ventilation is great in the warmer months. I’m very happy with my purchase.

Great fit, ventilation, adjustment, and price point. I use this helmet for everything: commuting, fitness/rec riding, and cross country mountain biking.

Great training helmet. It fit narrower than my other Specialized helmets so I went up a size.

The installation instructions for the ANGI crash sensor omit the absolutely crucial step of removing the ANGI label from the helmet before installing the sensor. Skipping this step renders the sensor useless. Because the adhesive for the sensor is permanent and not replaceable, if you make this mistake like I did you have no choice but to purchase a whole new $50 sensor unit.

Very good helmet

While heavy the helmet would be fine if it were not for the the TriFix straps. They are fixed into a set Y shape so you can adjust the amount of strap that fits in front of or behind your eyes. For me this mean that the strap behind my ears are saggy and I had to fold back and tack the the strap until the excess is removed. A totally terrible design and, as such, the helmet is not fit for purpose other than for the head that modelled the design.

No perspiration on the glasses

Bought this helmet (in black) based on a review from Wirecutter. Very pleased with it. It’s lightweight, comfortable and easy to adjust.

Sleek and comfortable. My head is still intact so that's a bonus. It feels a bit heavier/bulkier than the prevail 2 that my buddy has, but I attribute that to safety. It's by no means too heavy or too bulky. It has that Goldie Locks feel -- just right -- between safety and comfort

it hasn't gotten hot here yet, so don't know about the ventilation and that's the most important part, besides protecting the noggin! ;) but it's light and love the reflective straps; would give it five stars if it had more reflectivity on the helmet shell. maybe add some adhesive reflective tape that we could apply ourselves?

GOOD STUFF

I recently had a nasty gravel bike accident while descending downhill at 30 MPH in rural Virginia. During the crash, the front of my head hit the gravel road, splitting my Echelon II down the middle and saving me from severe head trauma. I'm writing this review while ordering the same helmet. Let's hope I don't have the opportunity to try out its crashworthiness again!

The helmet is fine to wear, but I've noticed over the past months that the plastic clear coating over my white helmet is peeling away in small flecks. Bad for the environment and an indication of poor quality.

Comfortable helmet with plenty of ventilation. Really like the straps as they do not rub/scratch. I bought this to try with the angi crash detection pod.

Best helmet I've ever had, should have gone specialized years ago

This was a replacement for the same model I purchased from 2016. These helmets are extremely light, so much so I’ve walked around forgetting to take it off. The new version however runs a bit smaller: the strap is not as long, it fits a tad smaller on the head so I had to pull out the adjuster about 3 clicks for a good fit. If you wore a medium consider moving up to a large especially if you wear a lot of winter gear on your head.

Perfect Fit and light and value for money

I didn't see any complaints about unsnapping the strap, so it is either a weird issue with only my helmet, or I lack the finger dexterity to unsnap only this helmet. I bought it on vacation, so I can't easily return it. The employee unsnapped it for me while I was in the store, so I didn't realize I would have an issue. The helmet does fit well and the price is right, but I can't walk around with a helmet on my head until I find someone else to unsnap it for me.

Excellent fitment and very comfortable - no stress points. Definitely well vented helmet. The straps are positioned perfectly for either over or under the arms of riding glasses. Super light. With MIPS. I hope I never get to test how it performs in a crash.

This is my 5th Echelon helmet. It fits better than any other of the many helmets I have owned. Very comfortable on long rides and allows cooling air flow which is imprtant where I live (Hawaii).

Very comfortable and well ventilated, seems a little on the heavier side but the step up in fit and comfort from my old helmet is so worth it.

As others have stated, it is a little heavier than my old helmet but the fit is perfection. Color spot on. I got the light grey one on sale. What a bargain! Quick to ship, received in a timely manner.

This seems like a good helmet so far. I particularly like the comfort and simplicity of the chin strap. This helmet is comfortable overall. It is slightly heavier than my previous helmet, but I don't notice this at all while riding.

As an active cyclist, I own several different brands of helmets. I found this helmet to be very nice. It is well vented and it was easy to adjust the straps to lay flat. I have a very small head so I ordered the size small. It fits securely and is comfortable. I always buy helmets with the mips adjustable system to secure the helmet to my head for a better fit. I ordered the blue to compliment some of my riding swag.

I was knocked off my bike last week, hitting the front/top on my head on the road. The internal structure of the helmet fractured in several places from the point of impact but it absorbed the entire force and my head felt nothing. When I'm able to get back on my bike, I won't hesitate to buy another of these.

Great helmet for the price, and better than more expensive helmets I have worn. This is the third one I have purchased. (One as backup one for family member).

I love this helmet. I am a woman and have a large head. I got a medium. I had one before this one. It’s very comfortable and I feel it has a snug fit but not too snug. I love the array of colors.

I bought two this year. the first one was damaged by my stupidity. I spent quite a bit of effort trying to find a helmet that was very comfortable fit. So when it came to for a replacement I didn’t even think twice about ordering a second Echelon II. It is comfortable, sturdy and lite.

An Echelon II helmet saved my life once, so of course, I replaced it with another. I was pleased to see that the new helmet offers even more protection from head injury with the new MIPS system.

Fits better than any other helmet. Is light, cool and does it's job without being distracting.

Comfortable and light to where. First new helmet in a while. Can see rear of helmet in my peripheral vision which I am sure I’ll get used to. Can’t comment on the most important factor which is how good the protection is, lots of disclaimers in the manual.

Tried a few helmets and this was my favorite. It had the most comfortable chin strap and I also liked the design of the inside area as it didn't catch on my hair. Cool when riding.

Most comfortable helmet I've ever worn. Typically have a hard time getting my long hair to stay out of the way when putting on a helmet but I have no issues with this one.

As soon as I put it on, I found this helmet to be too heavy. It's a good entry level helmet for a beginner but if you're experienced, you probably wouldn't love it.
