Fitted on the front and rear of my XC 29er 2.3 Purgatory Grid First ride impressions are very good for UK Autumn/Winter conditions (wet & slippery) excellent grip and traction. What did surprise me was the improvement in ride comfort compared to the conti race kings which I had fitted previously. The only compromise is that they are not as fast rolling on tarmac though.

This would be a great tire if you could actually run it tubeless for more than a few rides. After the first few ride the sidewall and crown are leaking sealant everywhere. I used to get a couple hour ride in without having to add air. Now I need to add air every 5 miles or so.

I have the 2.6 and after 10 rides the sidewalls started leaking. I have to pump it up everytime I ride as the tire goes flat. I thought the Grid System was supposed to take care of this leaking problem?!

I like to climb to descend and like technical terrain. The Purgatory has a great tread pattern for use as a rear tire. The quality/durability of this current tire is not on par with the past. I have six rides and have had to plug holes on two separate occasions. Maybe just bad luck, but these are the same trails that were ridden with previous versions of this tire.

I have been running the Slaughter 2.6"" as my rear tire. The Slaughter worked well but we have been having a wet summer so I wanted a more agrresive rear tire. The Purgatory has given me much better rear traction in the wet conditions and is better climbing. I will keep the Slaugjter to use when its dry again.

250lb rider, 27.5 x 3.0"" tubeless on a 45id rim (f&r). average 25 miles per week. Dusty dry powdery hardpack to dry rooty/rocky mountain trails, sandy/loam xc, even a few trail rides in the rain. I have not found a downside to this tire yet. The knob placement allows a smooth transition into the turns with very little change in grip (3""). run 16/18psi f/r on the rooty stuff and 18/20 for the xc. Are there better tires for a specific condition, sure... but none that cover everything so well and consistent. Very little wear!!!

This tire rolls fast and it has a mean grip and bite. I use this tire on a E 13 Carbon wheel with a cush core and a butcher up front. Very impressive tire and rolls faster then the slaughter for rear. Cant wait to do this tire front and rear on a 29er with cush cores and a wide rim.

I have a Purgatory Grid 27.5x2.6 set up as a rear tire. On a 30.5mm ID rim, the tire measures 2.55"". I've been running this for almost a season now and I'm impressed by the traction on everything from slick rocks and roots to dry, dusty, blown out terrain and everything in between. The tire is wearing extremely well and holds up particularly well on the rocky-garden covered trails that I frequently ride. Climbing traction is fantastic, and I found that I was immediately clearing difficult technical climbs that I had struggled on previously with a smaller and less aggressive treads. Where other tires have flatted, these have excelled. Highly recommended for an aggressive rear tire.

Bought the 29x2.6. Only 2.35 inches on 25mm inside wide rims. Same as Maxxis Forekaster 2.35. Not happy. Still a great tire.

This tire holds up to Western Slope CO riding on a Ebike. I ride the 3.0 Grid and it hooks up great, 22-24psi in the rear and 18-20 in the front. 185lb rider and aggressive
