I'd like to preface this by stating I have run Specialized Butcher Grid 2Bliss, and Black Diamond as well as Slaughter and never ever had a puncture in all manner of conditions. Disregard above comment re NOT running tubeless below 30 PSI, I have done down hill tracks at sub 20 PSI with tubes and tubeless (N0t by choice it was just where it was at that time) I would say this was an issue with his rim and spokes, I generally run less than 30 PSI and with mucoff slime I have very little air leak over long periods. ALSO worth mentioning I have not had a tyre seat on a bead this well even after flat pack, I have set up numerous minion tyres and the bead can be loose and flabby, I can even pump up a tubeless set up on this tyre with a hand pump/floor pump because the bead sits that well. This is all experience on Spec Roval wheels. I likely won't change tyre any time soon.

This was the OE tire on my 2020 Stumpjumper. I really wanted to like it but I could never really get along with it. I tried a plethora of psi's and fork settings, but I could never find a setting that inspired any confidence. In short, it lacked grip in tight corners and tended to feel squirmy and vague. All of my crashes this season were sudden front end washouts.

Good grip but can't run tubeless below 30psi.

I've been riding the Butcher Grid for the past 3 years and have been very happy with it but this most recent Gripton version seems to not be as stout as previous versions. Also, super disappointed in the fact that I was really looking for a mid fat in a 2.6 but its really more like a 2.3

We have been racing with this Tire and training for 3 years now. I would say it is an excellent tire for Grip , traction especially in muddy rocks and loose terrain.

Very unpredictable when switching from side to side, not as good on roots as it's predecessor, slow rolling. Doesn't clear mud as the rubber is very sticky and it easily gets clogged. The 2.6 it's 61 mm at the side knobs, as the High Roller 2 :) the 2.4 classic one.. It has a bit more volume, but doesn't help you much. Off camber sections are not its preferred as well, tend to slide, and on lose is totally all over the trail.

This tire is labeled 29x2.6 and is the size of a 2.25! Pathetic, I wasted my money.

I'm running the fully loaded 29x2.6 with griptron. Run sandy, rutty, loose over hardpack conditions to hard tacky trails with roots. This tire is faster than a dhf and I think it corners better. For $60, hard to beat imo.

This tire is a step back from the previous grid cased butcher. Gripton is too soft, slow to react, lacks that maxxis bite and feels very unpredictable. There comes a point when rubber compounds are too soft to make an aggressive high speed tire and this tire is a perfect example.

Riding this tire in Downieville and I'm getting punctures in the casing. Never happened with the previous GRID version. Will patch and run at home in Santa Cruz. Ran the BLK DMND version at Downieville and Northstar and voila, no punctures. Why isn't the BLK DMND version on the website? 650B S-Works Enduro, 155 lbs, 5'6""

Sad Panda. This latest version rolls slower (thanks to losing the ramped center knobs and intro of the gripton compound) , isn/t nearly as supple at the same pressure, and doesn't rail corners better than the original. The original was the perfect front tire for everything except pure DH or nasty mud - and there are other dedicated tires for those niches.

Top enduro/rough trail tire. Super grip for braking and turning and tracks the line very well. Grid walls are very tough and provide a ton of support to allow very low pressure (have gone to ~14 on 2.8). Roll pretty well too. And 1/3 less $ than other tires in this category so what's not to like?

I have a Butcher Grid 27.5x2.6 set up as a front tire. On a 30.5mm ID rim, the tire measures 2.59"". I've been running this for almost a season now and I'm impressed by the traction on everything from slick rocks and roots to dry, dusty, blown out terrain and everything in between. The tire is wearing extremely well and holds up particularly well on the rocky-garden covered trails that I frequently ride. Where other tires have flatted, these have excelled. Highly recommended for an aggressive front tire.

they come standard on turbo levo thank god. I run 16# with tubes (too lazy to change and weight is not a issue) . They are just as good a maxis minion 2.8's The earlyier levo's had 3.0 buloon tires . These are much much better. You can haul the meat waggon with these tires.

Been riding the Butcher 27.5 x 2.6 front and Slaughter 27.5 x 2.6 rear. The Butcher is awesome in the front, noticeably better cornering, braking, and cushioning than any 2.3 tire I have ridden. It is heavier than a 2.3 tire and yes I do feel it, but so far it's been worth it for the extra performance and cushioning. I run it at about 19psi and ride pretty steep and rocky terrain. In 10 months I've never had a problem with the tire. A friend of mine who is a really good and aggressive rider also loves the Butcher 2.6 on the front of his new Nomad.
