I AM SPECIALIZED: TOM BOONEN

With four wins at Paris-Roubaix, Tom Boonen resides in an extremely selective club, consisting of only himself and Roger De Vlaeminck. This year, we followed him to gain perspective on his preparations and motivations ahead of the race.

I AM SPECIALIZED

TOM BOONEN

t doesn't matter how great you are or how many times you've won, in the blink of an eye, even the most storied of cycling careers can come to an end. For four-time Paris-Roubaix winner, Tom Boonen, this has almost happened several times over the past 15 years of his career. Injury, however, has failed to set Tommeke back in his quest for a fifth Roubaix title. And with his return to the cobbles, we followed him to give you a behind-the-scenes look at his preparation for Roubaix and to gain insight as to what still motivates this most legendary of Classics specialists.

I only have very few limited goals left. The biggest one is winning Paris-Roubaix for the fifth time. That's the only reason I'm still racing.
