I have these units on my daughter's Fatboy. She tore her ACL and I did not want her riding clipless but wanted a grippy platform for her. These fit the bill at the right price. The studs are just long and sharp enough to hold onto her shoe without feeling dangerous. She did suffer some shin bang at first but got used to them and has had very few issues since. The pedals look sweet and provide a wide and long enough surface area while being open enough to shed mud. She's not ridden them in the winter yet but I presume they'll shed snow similarly well. After an MTB season, with plenty of mud and water, the bearings still spin smoothly and there are no worries about strength for her 150 lbs. You can't go wrong with these if you wanna go flat.

They are unbelievably grippy pedals. At first they had a little too much bite for my preference, but after some use and getting used to them I absolutely love them. I love having the confidence that your feet are going to stay on the pedals without having to wear clips.

Pedals were great until the set screws got beat up from use. Called specialized to buy replacement screws (since they are replaceable) but was told that they do not sell/ give replacement screws. What the heck is that about? There are plenty of other, cheaper options. Get in the game, specialized.

I love the pedals. Switched out the grub screws with some 5mm long ones and these things are perfect. Still has good grip and i won't slice my leg open when i inevitably send the crank around into my shin.

Bought these spring of 17. Over 100 miles of single track later I would definitely recommend these pedals to anyone. I am currently recommending these to a buddy which is what sparked this review. Buy these pedals get all the grip the world has to offer and enjoy the ride!
