Epic Pro

2021 Epic Pro

What do you get when you open up the taps on trickle-down technology? That'd be the Epic Pro. A waterfall of performance coming straight down from Mount S-Works, the Epic Pro benefits from the most efficient suspension design we've ever created, not to mention a frame that's as light as the previous-generation S-Works while offering the same incredibly efficient power transfer of the current cream of the World Cup crop.

A Smarter BRAIN

Mixing hardtail efficiency and full-suspension capability to impressively quick results, Epic has always been defined by an uncompromised commitment to speed. Well, that and over 100 World Cup wins and podiums too.

True to form, the latest Epic continues the tradition, taking advantage of the most efficient BRAIN suspension we've ever created to ensure it's always on a first-name-basis with fast.

Re-engineered hand-in-hand with the new Epic, the latest BRAIN design resets the expectation for efficiency, employing a new race-tuned pedaling platform to ensure every watt possible is translated into forward motion, while handily soaking up momentum-killing chatter and big hits alike—all more smoothly than ever.

Frame-Changer

Redesigned with a focus on efficient power transfer and better handling performance, the Epic's all-new FACT 11m carbon frame features a 15-percent stiffer rear triangle in order to take full advantage of the BRAIN's new race-tuned pedaling platform, while the revised carbon layup of the front-triangle sheds weight, sending the Epic's already sky-high stiffness-to-weight ratio even higher.

The Epic Pro's Top-Adjust Position-Sensitive BRAIN fork allows for easy tuning on the fly, making suspension adjustments on course pre-rides a stress-free affair, while SRAM's XO1 Eagle AXS electronic group takes notes from BRAIN's telepathic performance, firing off shifts with lightning-fast precision.

This bike goes to 11

I thought the previous gen Epic was good this new one has gone (at least) one better. Handles better downhill. Brain platform is better. Get one if you can.

BEST SHORT TRAVEL BIKE EVER !!

So I am coming off the last two Epics they have made. This is by far the BEST of all three.. This bike feels very balanced ,descends amazing and feels like way more travel then it is. I added a dropper post which is awesome and a must on this unit. I ride mostly in Park City Utah and have PRd all of my rides in the first few rides. Nice JOB with this one !!

Best Epic yet!

Coming off of a 2017 Epic Sworks, I was a little nervous shifting to the Pro level Epic. It was the best thing I could've done! What a difference! How did they build a bike that is stiffer, yet more compliant; slacker angles, yet corners better on tight switchbacks-both up or going down!? And speaking of slacker angles, this bike is way more stable on the downhills with almost trail bike manners. The funny thing is, at first I though I was going slower, but then I would go back and upload my ride to find out that I was setting PRs on my local trails. I've had zero issues with the brain and I am confident that it is more durable then the previous generation. My 2017 model would need service every year or so and I expect this to be at least that reliable. On a side note, this bikes demands a dropper post, what a difference it makes in the ride experience. The Sram AXS is amazing and the brakes are ok. I went through brake pads in 350 miles (my typical ride is about 15-20 miles with 2500 to 3200 feet of vert). My old XTR pads would last at least 2-3 times longer on my old bike. I have sense switched from the resin pads to metal/sintered and hope they are more durable. Thanks Specialized for really building a better Epic...it's not just hype.
