2019 Comp Mountain Bike Shoes

The Comp Mountain Bike shoes take a whole lot of comfort, mix it with some serious pedalling efficiency, and add a layer of grippy trail traction for good measure. The result is a feature-packed and reliable all mountain shoe that delivers the right mix of performance and durability for a variety of trail conditions.

Designed with Body Geometry attributes at the forefront, the comfortable fit and stiff sole provide maximum pedal efficiency and power transfer. The Boa® S2-SV dial, meanwhile, is easily replaceable without using any tools, and it allows for on-the-fly fit adjustments. The materials used in the construction are also designed to take a beating, whether it be an accidental root or rock strike, while the SlipNot™ tread gives you reliable trail traction when you need it.

I have a wide foot.

I have a wide foot. This shoe allows me to loosen the Velcro to accommodate my foot. Love this brand.

I can't kill these things.

I've had these for 5 seasons now and they've been great. One of the BOA's failed, but after filling out a form on BOA's website they sent new ones for free. I keep contemplating an upgrade but these have been too rock solid to justify doing so.

Love this shoe! Would buy again.

I was concerned to buy a shoe without trying it on, but the sizing seemed true. I have used them for gravel (and road) so far with lots of climbing. They are comfortable for a long day on the trail!

I am not sure If I would buy this shoes again

The past shoes I had where Motodiva, loved the shoe, they where very comfortable, well made and lasted a long time until the sole came off. Unfortunately I could not buy this model anymore, so I had to decide for this one. 38,5 EU size is ok, I wish I would have gotten a 1/2 size larger, but the shoe will expand anyway. I am not happy with the material which is plastic and cheap, the fastener nob does not fit on the side, it is more on my arch. In other word if you have a high arch, that's what happens. I guess it does the trick. Of course you can spend $ 500, I think the shoes are better, I am not sure.

Will not buy again

This is my second pair of MTB comp. On the first pair the bottom sole disintegrated after a year. With the second pair I noticed two problems: First one is BOA system which started to get loose after 3 months. Thankfully, there is a lifetime warranty on this component, so I got the free replacement from BOA. Second problem is uneven midsole on the right foot shoe. It causes blisters on the sole of my foot after 3 hrs ride. I didn't notice it when I tried the shoes in the store. However, it got so distracting I decided to change the shoes with other brand's.

Nice shoes

I have about 200 miles on these shoes so far. I like the stiff soles, Not as walkable as my previous shoes, but the stiff sole is great. I'll take the trade off. I noticed a big improvement when climbing out of the saddle. They run a little short. I wear a US size 12. My shoes are EU 46 and my toes can just feather the front of the shoe. My feet are little narrow and I do have to crank down on the straps to get them snug enough. The dial is good to snug them up, but the top of the tongue can cut into the top of your foot if you go too tight. At the end of the day, a lace-up shoe with a dial would work fine for me. So far a like them a lot. I wish they were a touch narrower and a touch longer.

Flexible for cyclocross running

Specialized shoes fit my feet best. The Comp eschews the stiff carbon fiber sole for a more flexible nylon which is great for cyclocross. My only complaint is that sole broke at the spike attachment. Other than that, I love 'em.

This is my second pair and i will buy another when needed!

I mountain bike 6 days a week and these are the best shoes i have ever used! There is one negative that I have found and that is the top buckle that you have to turn in order to tighten. This buckle wore out after one season. I am putting the buckle on my new pair to the test!!!

Glad to buy again

I had a previous version of the comp mtb shoes which lasted through several seasons on notoriously rocky PA singletrack. This version seems to be similarly durable with just a few nicks in the outsole after several rides, including plenty of hike-a-bike. Pedaling is comfortable and efficient for general trail riding or more. The boa closure and thicker material at the toe box are welcome upgrades.
