I previously owned Specialized road tires with Kevlar belts and was happy with them, so I wanted to buy Specialized tires again. I bought these for my mountain bike that I ride mostly on smooth shellrock trails. I have only used a few times but am happy so far. There is good bite when I turn. The bike slides in a predictable manner. Seems like a good design. Price was fair. Ask me again in a year, but as of now I would buy the same tire again. You can easily spend double this price and not get double the performance.
