The Turbo Levo SL is a new, lightweight breed of eMTB that harnesses the quick and lively ride of our Stumpjumper...and adds just enough power to introduce a whole new dimension of kick ass. Thanks to a clever component selection, the Turbo Levo SL Comp brings all of that rad down to an equally-rad price point.

It’s You, Just Going Faster and Farther.

The Turbo Levo SL is effectively a Stumpjumper that lets you embark on ridiculously long adventures with no fear of bonking and helps you snag three laps of your favorite trail instead of just one. Looking for a ton of power and range? Check out our Turbo Levo and Kenevo models. Want a bike, on the other hand, that simply feels like you—a faster you, with the power to ride more trails, kind of you? That's Turbo Levo SL.

Tune it to Your Style.

By connecting with our Mission Control App, you can tune the SL 1.1 motor to your riding style, record rides, and monitor the battery. The motor even has a built-in power meter that transmits to any ANT+ head unit. Don't want to connect? No worries—the simple Turbo Connect Unit (TCU) on the top tube gives you all the control you need to just climb on and ride all day.

• Lightweight, alloy Stumpjumper-inspired frame is pure ride quality and control.

• Ultra-smooth and lightweight SL 1.1 motor doubles your pedaling power.

• 150mm of suspension front and rear, courtesy of FOX's 34 fork and DPS shock.

  • The Turbo Levo SL looks like a Stumpjumper and, out on the trail, feels like one too. That’s no mistake. We aimed to build a Stumpjumper with a bit more boost to it and that’s exactly what you get—similar Sidearm chassis with great, balanced stiffness and 150mm of smooth, custom-tuned suspension. The Turbo Levo SL Comp’s chassis is constructed entirely from our light-yet-strong M5 premium aluminum.
  • The lightweight SL 1.1 motor doubles your effort with as much as 240 watts of silent and powerful assistance to your pedals. The motor’s responsive torque curve delivers power perfectly in-tune with your normal riding cadence and leaves no resistance when you’re riding without power assistance.
  • Worried about running out of power? No problem. The Turbo Levo SL eats up big miles and long days. And if you’re looking for even more miles, our optional range extender boosts your range by another 50 percent. On top of all that, our Mission Control App can handle battery management automatically, ensuring your battery will last as long as you need it to.
  • Assist up to 20 mph / 32 km/h

Awesome!!!

I am in good shape, ride 2 to 3 times per week, the best I think I am going to be with out dedicating more time (or decreasing my age by a decade or 2). But I cannot keep up with my fellow riders. This bike allows me to keep up. I just keep it in lowest assist. Still get a great work out (as long as I resist selecting a higher assist mode). Bike does not feel heavy when riding. Feels like a regular mountain bike but gives me better legs.... I am a fan. As a 28 year veteran mountain biker, felt wrong to go "e". but I love it!! if you are on the fence, do it. you won't regret it.

Great decision

I hadn’t ridden a bike in 10 years. I’m approaching 50 and am working on losing 30lbs - so - not in the best of shape. I really wanted to get back into MTB but the idea of climbing big hills and still having energy to descend was a concern. This bike alleviated all of that. I’m able to do the climbs without hopping off, I’m still getting a great workout, and I have plenty left in the tank to be fully engaged and enjoy the descents. I’ve never loved riding more.

Perfect for my wife

Bought this so wife could keep up. We tried the Turbo Levo and Turbo Levo SL. IMO the Turbo Levo is overpowered. Good for if you are not athletic at all. The SL is for occasional riders who are in moderate shape. With the SL my wife can keep up with me and then some. She know enjoys mountain biking with me now that she's not completely gassed trying to keep up with me.

What I need right now but not perfect

I rode a large carbon version that a local shop had built up. As a 5’6 female, I can tell you that it did not feel at all big. Still, I’m a 5’6 female who has ridden a Medium for 25 years. So, I ordered a medium in alloy (carbon was not available before new models were released). It feels VERY small and tight, and also feels very high, even in the “low” position. The S sizing and Geo varies among modes-I wish knew this prior to purchase. This is trail geo through and through, but it is not good for any type of serious enduro or downhill Pursuits. I wish it were slacker. The alloy version IMO is not nimble, and it rides downhill like a tank. Fun, but even at full speed with the intention to huck it is a monster to move around. This is a solid trail bike and undoubtedly excels in that genre (which is why I bought it). I’ll be on a Status for shuttle runs or if I feel like being in pain when climbing. I’d probably love the S-Works version…….;)

Tons of Fun - Super happy!

Live doorsteps to trails and bought this to upgrade from a hardtail, and to be nicer to my aging body! Love the 2x assist and can get a great ride and good workout in. I keep it in eco mode 70% of the time, but super nice to have a "bit more" when terrain points uphill, in between trails, or I just want some help. This is a great bike if you want to stay somewhat close to the analogs, but you won't catch the full power e-bikes. I mostly ride with fit experienced bikers, so this helps me keep up with them. The bike is great on my terrain (NWA/Bentonville, AR) and the extra push to helps me get out more often, go an extra lap or take a longer trail. Weight, motor and specd to hit the trails and have tons of fun!

Happy!

All the reviews are spot on! I truly enjoy mtbing more than ever because i can finally keep up with my friends who are younger and with more advanced skills. The TUNE feature for the ride is excellent, im still experimenting with settings to my liking. The bike is planted when hitting the downhill sections due to its weight and i feel more confident.

Everything I Hoped For

I've been riding my Stumpy for years, and absolutely love it. However, there are days when I'm tired from other activities, or I've ridden too many days in a row, and the riding gets tough. The Turbo Levo SL turned out to be just the ticket for tired legs: you can ride it just fine with the electrics off, but turning on Eco mode (or even Trail) really flattens the hills. Also, favorite loops that I generally could only do once or twice before running out of gas are now easily repeatable. The only issue is that now I have two bikes that I love - how to choose on any given day?

Awesome bike!

I love this bike and bought it several months ago. I'm a female, 5'-2 and got the rocket red in small. The color is beautiful. An x-small was not available at the time. I would highly recommend purchasing the extra battery pack. I can now keep up with my husband when we go mountain biking. This bike has been a game changer for me. I get a great workout, and when my husband wants to go longer I'm up for it. Highly recommend!

Updated Review of SL

I reviewed the Levo SL base model size small last year and lamented that it was a(5'3"). Well, since then I switched the back wheel to a 27.5 and flip chip to high position. That is the perfect solution for short riders. It now rides like a dream and my past problems with too high bike/imbalance in quick dismount situations are over! I have fallen in love with my SL all over again and am riding as much as possible. I still have hope that Specialized acknowledges us Short People and eventually presents either a full 27.5 or a mullet version. But in the meantime, try this modification if you're short and experiencing challenges with the height of a full 29er MTB.

Old Knees, New bike :)

Turning 55 I was struggling to find motivation and energy for my typical 55km rides that I find time for. Distances have been steadily reducing as knee pain increased. Bought an SL and already enjoyed several 50km+ rides, that I've not managed for a few years. Yes, I'm not getting the workouts that I was before, but the joy of riding is back with vengeance. Now sitting at my desk, looking at routes, and wondering if my range extender will be good for 100km, before the clocks change. Loving life again, on my SL alloy.

My new baby and its priceless!

I'm a 57-year-old woman who loves to ride ... road and mountain, with mountain being my first love. After my first long ride of the season, I was exhausted and totally out of breath. Found out I had some emergency heart issues due to cardiomyopathy which resulted in a defibrillator implant. Those who ride know the morning that goes into loosing something you love. After a year of looking, I lucked out and was able to snag this bike. Although it was expensive it is the gift that keeps on giving. Being able to get out on the trails and in the forest, places I would never be able to walk to, and breath in those smells ... well let’s just say my heart is full. Most importantly, I feel safe as I can see my current heart rate and can select my "target heart rate". The motor changes its output to keep me within my ideal heart rate zone. I'm now able to go out riding with my hubby and he's the one whose sweating. My only regret is I can't afford a road bike!

Almost Perfect EMTB

I am a 59 year old woman. I have been riding an SL Comp small for the past year here in New Mexico. I love this bike! I ride additional trails I previously passed on due to uphill sections and have ridden some uphills I still didn't think possible looking at them but amazed myself at riding up them on this bike. It feels wonderful, other than slight motor noise, like a regular FS MTB. My only wish is that Specialized develops a 27.5 version or even a mullet version of the SL as I continue to maintain that 27.5 is optimum for us short riders...5 ft 3 inches . In circumstances where I need to make a quick dismount, I have encountered trouble as a short person, quickly getting offseat and getting a foot down, given the bikes configuration with cross bar versus my Giant Anthem 27.5. Actually,if my 2018 Giant Anthem Advanced could be turned into an EMTB, then I would have EMTB PERFECTION

Just Brilliant

I have owned the SL for 3 weeks now and absolutely love it, it rides just like my KTM Myron carbon framed non ebike, but adds the power when I need it. you soon get used to the extra weight and forget about it after a few minutes. Battery life is amazing and after riding using eco and a little trail for 3 hours still had 5 bars showing. it jinks about the trails with full control and feels really stable,

Amazing Bike!

The Turbo Levo SL is not only the best bike I've ever owned, it may be the best thing I've ever owned. Bought it for my wife to help her keep up with the boys on long climbs. I spent a lot of time debating about whether to get it or the more typical rig (cheaper with twice the power and twice the battery life). The SL has far more power and range than needed. Doubling your pedaling power may not sound that dramatic, but it's like riding downhill permanently. The transmission is so subtle and easy it's perfect. Saving up for another one!

This bike truly gives you the best of both worlds.

I bought this bike initially to go out and lose weight. I'm 56 years old and just had major surgery and gained a tremendous amount of weight. In 10 weeks I've lost over 35 pounds and I couldn't be happier with this bike. This is truly an aggressive mountain bike with some assist when needed, not an E bike with mountain bike components. With so many bikes to choose from this is by far the very best!

My bike. I simply love it. Thanks Mike Sinyard and everyone at Specialized...I am so grateful for my bike. Cathy Silvers from Happy Days PS I have nothing bad to say. Why would I? Its perfect.

A great step for a 73 year old mountain biker...

Spent a good deal of time in 2020 researching e-mtbs before the Turbo Levo SL was introduced. But, one test ride on the SL Comp and I was sold. This bike brings back the climbing prowess I had in my thirties. Ned Overend (super star and Specialized pro team racer) get out of my way! Now back to riding 3-4 times weekly and putting on the miles in the local Sierra Nevada Mountains. Other than wearing out the original tires and one chain so far, the SL is holding up great to cross-country, uphilling, downhilling and local bike parks. Virtually all my rides are now 50-100% longer than what I was doing prior to my owning the SL. That is terrific stuff!

This bike has saved my life (Disabled Vet)

I am a disabled vet and got to the point that I could no longer do more than a couple of miles because of strength and fatigue issues. The turbo Levo made riding possible again. I road my original Levo for several years and really enjoyed the power to get me were I wanted to go. Eventually it got to the point that I needed a longer travel bike so I got a newer longer travel Levo. I opted for the Levo SL and have fallen in love. Not only did I get the longer travel suspension that I needed but I got a bike that feels so much more like a regular mountain bike. Don't get me wrong I still love the regular Levo which has a bit more power to pull you through but I was to the point that I felt I was able to have a little more power and wanted a little more work out. So for those of you looking for a bike that will get you back in the woods after having physical issue that have slowed you down or maybe it's just age catching up with younthe Turbo Levo or the Turbo Levo SL will make your day and get you back to what you love. Get to your local Specialized dealer and see how they can help you. My dream is to some day get to the SWORKS level......

2021 Levo SL Comp - welcome to awesome!

My new 2021 SL (Super Light) ebike is very light and agile, so it feels and handles a lot like a regular mountain bike - except of course for the super smooth, quiet but powerful electric motor. Since I ride both on single tracks and forest roads in the steep Appalachian mountains, and I also ride on byways and rural roads, I swapped the standard All Mountain tires for Fast Trak 50/50 On/Off road tires. These have a narrow center tread that is fast and quiet on the highway but lean the bike into a turn on or off road and the knobby tread really digs in for excellent carving. Then I exchanged the chainring from 30T to 34T for faster and easier highway travel, yet it still has enough low gears and e-power to climb amazingly steep hills. So now this bike is an all-purpose adventure e-bike - I can go anywhere. Using the Mission Control app, I have carefully tuned the electric motor 3-level response. In Eco: 25 Sustain, 80 Peak, Sport: 50 Sus, 90 Pk, Turbo: 70 Sus, 100 Pk. These setting are great for on or off road. On road I can usually stay in Eco and get 60+ miles in moderately hilly terrain with only a few thousand feet ascent. With steeper hills I switch into Sport sometimes and still get 45 miles per charge. With the new tires, this bike can fly downhill, easily hitting 40-45MPH just coasting. The excellent (carefully tuned) air suspension makes this bicycle handle and corner like a very fine motorcycle. The SRAM hydraulic brakes are perfect, not too grabby for great control in downhill dirt or gravel but powerful enough to bring my 185 lbs to stop with just light pulls on the levers. I did saw off 7/8"" from each end of the too-wide handlebar. The big 29 x 2.3 tires offer amazing stability on/off road, so even when standing up and pedaling hard, the bike stays on a straight line course. I am 72, and this bike allows me to ride anywhere I want to go - it makes me feel like I'm half my age!. A great eBike for outdoor adventuring.

Fabulous lightweight e-bike

Went for the aluminium one in red, looks great. Plenty powerful enough to get you up the steepest hills when you're too knackered. Also rides really well with the motor off, doesn't feel like other e-bikes I've tried. When the motor cuts out due to hitting the speed limit it's really subtle, so little engine drag. Really pleased with the bike, love going to bike parks and getting an easy ride back to the top. You will need to find longer circuits though as you'll be riding a lot further, I've had to link 2 routes each time I go out. The only negative so far are the brakes which feel a bit soft, though I'm no expert. A lot of money for a toy, but no regrets.

Ride with confidence up hills and over rocky areas

Get this bike. Other e-bikes with bigger motors are a lot heavier. Too much like a motorcycle. This one rides and handles like a top end mountain bike. Still get a great work-out. The motor helps with the little extra speed and confidence needed for the steep or rocky areas. It gives you the momentum needed so you don't fall over. You can now ride the entire trail without getting off and have time and energy left to do it a second time. It's the same feeling as skiing the entire run without stopping. Lastly, you don't have the large motor, oversized downtube and super heavy feel. Most people think you are on a regular mountain bike. ENJOY...

ive had mine for about 6 months now and loved every single minute of it. we've been on XC trails and some serious DH tracks ... and canal paths, forest tracks and roads... at no time have i wanted or needed anything else. the adjustable power settings mean you can tailor your ride to your needs, the equipment is up to the job, and the overall design and geometry means its a versatile ride. only issue - i scratched it and had to get some rocket red touch up paint... nearly broke my heart :-(

Bangin' - Full Stop

The Alloy obviously isn't as light as the carbon this bike is supposed to be but it doesn't matter. It's still lighter than my levo comp carbon and it's 10x more playful. I stuck a 650b on the back and it's now a little rocket. The power delivery even though it's less than half the torque of the Brose motor is smooth AF! I have a stumpy too and this thing is identical to ride, except you can stick it in eco and ride smooth and steady for a hole day with just a little extra umph to cruise up the climbs. It's true what Specialized say - this bike is designed to make you feel like a pro athelete and it does! Would recommend to anyone and everyone considering buying either an e-bike or a regular bike! It's the future, it's tha bomb!

Don't worry about the spec""

There's reviews slating the spec - but it's not that bad! The guide R brakes - sure they aren't the most powerful, but they work surprisingly well - just stick some composite pads on them. The gearset - it's a SRAM NX - it's pretty good to be fair....I'd rather this running on a standard SRAM/Shimano freehub than something running an XD driver that will cost a fortune to get replacement parts for; and the Eagle technology for shifting down quicker is great, you need it when you are coming up to those sudden quick climbs you wouldn't normally tackle. And to be fair if you're looking at the alloy model (which will give you better and more reliable life span than carbon where you will wince every time a stone flicks off the tire onto the downtube; you'd have plenty of spondulics/moolah/benjamins/cash money money to spend on upgrades (like a 650b wheel on the back or better brakes) . So get yourself out on a demo and realize the potential for this amazing bike! It rocks!

Was the best option for me, no regrets.

I wanted to buy a bike that would get me riding again, just help me a little when I needed it, but still give me a good work out and get me out again. So my wish list was that it would be light and ride like a normal bike when I wanted it to. I don't need a big battery or lots of power. I rode a Trek Powerfly (poor), a Specialized Levo (too heavy, felt like I was riding a bus), a Giant (not bad, but not good), a Focus Jam2 Carbon & this Levo SL. It was really close between the Focus and the Levo SL, both really good bikes and exactly what I was after. The Specialized shaded it because that motor is a beauty. Turn the electrics off and you're riding a slightly heavy mountain bike. Love it. Have ridden it for 160km so far. Battery lasts for about 70km I've found and the app takes away any angst about running out of e-power. Still can't believe how much I just spent on a bike though.
