    2020 Stumpjumper 29

The Stumpjumper 29 combines the amazing ride quality and precision of our alloy sidearm chassis with plush RockShox suspension and a 12-speed SRAM SX Eagle drivetrain. Bottom line: It's a bike that outrides both its price tag...and bikes costing much more.

    THE ULTIMATE TRAIL BIKE

The innovative sidearm frame design makes a lighter, better-handling bike. By directly connecting all three mounting points of the rear-end and shock to the frame, we've increased both stiffness and performance over bumps.

    PERFECTLY-BALANCED SUSPENSION

Our in-house suspension-tuning team develops custom shock tunes, perfectly paired to each bike's kinematics. We call this Rx Tune and while it's not the easy way to build a suspension bike, it's worth it. You feel Rx Tune as perfectly-balanced suspension. It's total control.

    MASSIVE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK

    • RockShox 35 Gold RL fork and Deluxe Select shock erase rocks and roots.

    • SX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain gives you single-ring simplicity and gearing to spare.

    • Roval Traverse 29er wheels roll over obstacles and maintain momentum with ease.

Amazing bike, very happy with it

Super happy with this purchase. Felt a little bit when I first got it. Made some adjustment, and took the handbags in. Handled rough terrain like a breeze. Rockets down trails with confidence.

    Great starting platform!

Not having ridden a mtn bike for some years, I finally pulled the trigger 12/19 on a Stumpy. I gotta say I never had an issue with any components in the 500 hard miles I've put on it! I have since replaced the fork/derailleur/cranks not because any fault of them, just because I wanted higher end components! Love the bike. With simple maintenance, I look forward to getting hundreds of more hard miles outta it!

    Great bike

This bike is amazing. Sure, you'll probably have to upgrade the derailleur after a few months. But this bike has held up to all the Colorado chunk and rock I can throw at it.

    Wish I did more research

After my 2017 Giant Trance 2 got stolen I started looking at Stumpjumpers because I liked the look of them and heard good things about their frame geometry. I went into the bike shop hoping to find a alloy comp version from 2019 as they were on sale in runout. Unfortunately there were none left but they did have this model which I purchased there and then after a test ride around the block without doing any homework. On my first proper mountain bike ride I found the suspension felt like rubbish with little adjustemnt and and the plastic derailleur snapped in half. The ride quality did not come close to my Trance. I have now spent 2k upgrading the suspension and installed a sram gx derailleur and it rides like a dream. Leason learnt, always do your homework.

    Best bike for the money!

Just got this bike the end of February and I find myself riding more then usual. The suspension feels like it belongs on a bike of higher valve. The dropper seat post is very smooth and the tires provide excellent traction.
