    Fuse Comp 27.5+

    Icon

    2019 Fuse Comp 27.5+

Take a look at the world's strongest man, and you're not going to find some chiseled Adonis. You're going to find someone who has more volume. The Mountain, anyone? Behind the "extra" surface area, though, there's a man that can dominate a caber toss and run down the tarmac with a plane in tow. Mathematically, it could be broken down as more volume + versatility = dominance, and that's exactly what's at play with the Fuse Comp.

These bigger tires put out more traction, more floatation, and better handling without sacrificing anything to efficiency on climbs. And with this model, we spec'd it with a no-nonsense build that's handpicked to get the job done. Components like a dropper post, and a buttery-smooth, 120mm RockShox Recon RL fork ensure that, no matter how rugged, technical, or hair raising that job might be, the Fuse can handle it with ease.

This bike is amazing. I've ridden a fuse since 2016 and by far its the best hardtail out there that can do it all. I've taken this thing down some enduro trails in Pisgah and Kingdom trails and it DOMINATED them. Slack geo, dropper post, and plus tires make this bike super fun. I've tried 2.8"" tires with smaller rims and they don't compare to the 3"" tires on this fuse. That extra little bit of tire really helps with jumping since they kinda load like a shock. The bike is also handles single track/XC quite well.

Fun bike for all around trail riding

This bike bridges a gap between a regular hard tail mountain bike, and a fat bike, and does so very well. It's a lot of fun to ride, has an excellent ability to roll over all sorts of objects, rocks, roots, small logs, etc. and keep you upright and moving. It has a smart mix of gearing, tough rims, great tires, and a dropper seatpost, which is nice. I think this bike would be best for someone looking to upgrade from something similar or older, and/or looking to take on more tech trails or just rougher terrain, or just getting into the sport and living in an area with a lot of rough trails, as the wheel/tire combo on this bike is perfect for that. Also, if you want some of the comfort of a full suspension, but don't want to go or spend the money for a full, this might do it for you. This bike is however not without caveats. It's a bit sluggish, it isn't heavy, but feels it when jumping on the pedals to accelerate, and climbs slow. I found it didn't handle all that nimble going in and out of trees, and up/down very short hills in my New England woods. But it's not a XC bike, and doesn't claim to be one. The front end handled well either way, it wasn't twitchy, or floppy for example. If you're looking for something a little more quick, with better components, save up the extra $350 and go for the Expert version of this. Even if you can't afford it, or can only pay for the Fuse 27.5+, I can't imagine anyone who knows what this bike is & just looking to have fun walking away disappointed in this bike.

Fun bike but needs to include a chainstay protector.

I took my first ride on the bike today and, coming from a 1998 stumpjumper comp, this is a whole new world to me. The ride is really fun. I didn't even put 8mi on the bike and I have SEVEN large paint chips, all the way down to the metal. My Diverge came with protection on the chainstay but the Fuse doesn't. That makes no sense. If I would have known I'd be trashing my paint on one ride I would have tried to protect it before I went out. But honestly... Why is the chain slap so horrible and why is the paint so weak? I can see if I did something wrong or crashed but this was a pretty tame ride. I only ride specialized right now but after this I'll probably be looking elsewhere for my next bike to see if I can get something with a little more quality. I know ""it's a mtb"" but I'd like to get at least a little use out of it before it gets all chipped up. Just pretty bummed out about it right now.

    SO. MUCH. FUN.

After talking with my local bike shop they recommended I invest in the Fuse Comp 27.5+. This bike has by far exceeded all of my expectations. For starters, I am a new MTB rider and traction was my biggest concern but I didn't want to go for a full fat bike. I was also concerned that this bike wouldn't keep up with my friends on their 29's... Let me just say- this thing FLYS! It rolls over everything and when my friends and I hit a sandy patch, guess who didn't have to stop to walk the trail. The guy on the Fuse 27.5 +. Two thumbs way up.

    Missing chain guard.

I just took the bike out on my first ride. On my first downhill I noticed the chain slapping the frame. The factory chain guard from the photos was never installed. It was a 2 hour ride and I had no way back to the truck. Now after the thrashing the chain did there is no paint left on that section of the fame. Also, the website says the tires and rims are tubeless ready. The dealer I shipped my bike to said he cannot make them tubeless. I am very un happy, my beautiful new bikes paint in completely trashed and I cannot use the tires as intended. Unacceptable quality for a brand like specialized.

    My 1st Plus Bike

I have to say after riding mainly a full suspension Stumpy carbon I like the feeling of this bike and the ride its gives you. #iamspecialized customer ONLY. Even though it is approx 6-8lbs heavier than the Stumpy the 28T front sprocket makes up for it. The 27.5 Plus tires grip very good and I do not hesitate now to take those sharp fast corners.

I would never regret buying this bike.

I have had this bike for a good month and a half now and have ridden it a dozen times on the trail, one thing is for sure, this thing can shred. More grip than I could ever need and the suspension is perfect when dialed in. Only downside is weight which is about 31 pounds but it most certainly doesn't stop you from speed. This bike is amazing and would recommend to any rider who wants to have fun on a great bike for a great price.
