2018 Hover Expert Alloy Handlebars – 15mm Rise

In terms of both comfort and performance, anywhere that your body touches the bike is of the utmost importance. That's why we designed the Hover Expert Alloy Handlebars to excel on both fronts. Starting with the construction, they're made from our Premium Butted Aluminum for a nice overall weight and high rigidity. And for comfort, much of it boils down to fit. Along these lines, they feature a shallow drop & bend that's extremely comfortable, while they also have a 15mm rise to help accommodate a wide fit range.

This saved cycling for me

I have a 2017 specialized tarmac, the stock handle bars are very thin on it. After a century race my hands became so numb that I lost feeling and use for a couple days. Issues with my ulnar nerves in my hand. I decided to go with this bar and it fixed all my hand issues. The bar is much thicker which means it's more area displacing weight and vibration across a larger area of the hands. Also the raise helped me place less of my weight on the bar. This coupled with the extra wide roubaix grip tape which is wider and has more cushion (wide = more tape overlapping = more cushion) fixed all of my hand issues. I've done 4 different centuries with no problems and little to no numbness or pain. This bar was a life saver!!! If you have that bad of issues like I did, get really padded gloves, this bar, Roubaix tape, and I promise you will see a huge relief in your hands.

Came with bike, replacing

Came stock with my 2019 Roubiax Sport: ""Specialized Comp Hover Bar, 6061 alloy, 70x125mm w/ Di2 hole"". The engineering, materials seem pretty standard I guess. I think the top-level flat is okay but a bit big for resting of the hands, but I guess i'm a bit more comfortable with it and the higher rise for comfort than prior bars. Flex/bend/vibration seem about normal (but you have consider the Roubaix has the extra shock absorption in the headset). I'm not happy with it and I'm working on replacing it though. I deal with carpal tunnel and tendonitis and I am not finding this bar accommodating at all. My hands go completely numb even on short rides. Worse, the curve is too tight and it squeezes my hands and impacts my bones from both sides. Also, the shifters have to sit too high and out of reach without some bending and effort. I am unable to ride this bike long distances with these bars. Have been trying to get these adjusted, but it's not working. I do not find this a usable bar and and working on a replacement. I used to have an ergo bar that worked fine, but for some strange reason there aren't as many of these available anymore. I'm no pro rider, just getting back into it again after several years.

Brilliantly Obvious

This bar essentially gives you the higher ""stack"" of newer bikes - for just $55. The drop and reach are the same as my previous compact FSAs, but with enough rise to add comfort. It's such an obvious thing - a roadie riser bar - so why didn't somebody think of it before?! They are a bit on the heavy side, but are quite a value for the price and quality.

Surprisingly comfortable

Had the Hover bar installed on a cross/gravel bike and found the bar very comfortable. The shallow drop is great and the extra rise on the bar Was wat nicer than I would have thought.
