Riprock 20

Riprock 20

Freedom is the absence of fear. And riding fearlessly requires a bike that can handle your kid’s imagination. It’s why we designed Riprock to be a mountain bike inclusive of all the features needed for superior ripping, like modern geometry, Ground Control tires, hydraulic disc brakes, and internally routed cables. Finally, we threw in a wider-range drivetrain, making Riprock truly the perfect bike to inspire riders to climb higher and tackle the downhills freely.

Kids can’t ride confidently if they’re not riding comfortably. With Riprock, fit comes first. This meant using data to reimagine everything from how they grip to how they sit to create a bike specifically and proportionally for kids. We did all this because comfort creates confidence. And more confidence always leads to more riding fearlessly.

Riprock 20 is an amazing

Riprock 20 is an amazing bike for my 4.5 years old and he loves it. Like advertised, this is a real mountain bike. I did have to cut the seat post in order to make it go all the way down. Seat post was hitting a notch (for internal dropper post cable) inside the frame.

Amazing first mountain bike

I bought this for my 5 1/2 year old son who just got off training wheels two weeks ago. We live in SW Colorado and it’s a mountain biking hot bed so naturally I wanted to get him prepared for the trails and this bike has be great so far. Took him for some loops around town and through the park for about a week. Tonight we hit our first green trail, he and the bike together was nothing short of impressive. It handled everything and he is gaining confidence by the minute, couldn’t recommend more for the parents looking to give your kid a head start on the trail.

Impressive bike, but take careful consideration of child’s skill and height

Out of the box this bike is outstanding! Thick, aggressive tires, sturdy frame, and quality components. Built like a “real” bike. Got for my son for 5th birthday. He is used to the 16” Riprock, very confident and pretty talented for his age. Thought this would be the perfect step-up but will have to wait for him to grow a bit for him unlock the bike’s potential. He is really trying to like it, which is cute, but I can tell it’s a little too much bike for him right now.. Had to cut the seat post down as low as it would go and it’s still high. He is currently 43” tall and can barely touch the ground when straddling the frame. The handle bars are especially wide and set low, I’ll probably cut down the bars or find some some that are not as wide and have some rise to them. Not knocking the bike—great bike for the right size kid.

Great Bike...But

We bought this for our 6 year-old daughter. She loved this bike at first, but she quickly ran into some issues with shifting into a lower gear. The lever is too difficult for her to press without taking her hand off of the handlebar and using her palm. This sometimes upsets her balance and causes crashes. The shifter is not sized for kids. So, this bike is effectively a single speed right now. Microshift recently released a super short shifter for kids. We may wait to see if we can get our hands on that...or maybe see if the local bike shop will work with us on trading this for something that will work for my daughter.

Purchased the Riprock 20 for

Purchased the Riprock 20 for my 6 year old son. His previous bike was descent, but lacked the MTB features. He seemed hesitant while riding that bike which was a good fit for him The Riprock was a game changer. First time on it, I could see a difference in his riding. He rode more confidently with the way the bike fit him. The ease of the brakes made for easy stopping and the adjustment to his hand size was a plus. In no time, he was able to learn the trigger shifting and loved how he was able to ride grass and slopes with ease. The Riprock has a quality build and components that are well suited for a child. Worth the price.

What a great bike! There

What a great bike! There are a ton of brands that make a 20 inch kids bike but this is the most mountain bike oriented that I’ve found. Great to be able to take the Grom on real trails and know it will hold up.
