Rockhopper Expert

2021 Rockhopper Expert

Excuse the brag, but we’ve really outdone ourselves here. Proving that true trail-taming capability doesn’t have to come at an intimidating price, the Rockhopper Expert is the culmination of 30 years of redefining the relationship between value and performance.

Start with a painstakingly engineered Premium A1 Aluminum frame, add in modern geometry that keeps one eye on efficiency and the other on confident capability and you have the rock-solid foundation of our best Rockhopper yet.

Pair that with a parts list that just doesn’t quit (...can we get a shoutout for RockShox’s Judy SoloAir fork and Shimano’s always-in-charge MT200 hydraulic disc brakes?) and you have a tubeless-ready, SRAM Eagle 1x12-equipped Rockhopper that’s absolutely prepared to fly.

Wow

I’ve owned Trek bikes for twenty years and recently had a Marlin 8, which I wasn’t happy with—just an uncomfortable ride on city trails. The Rockhopper Expert that I recently bought is exceptional, fast, comfortable and easy to ride. What are you waiting for? Buy it.

Outperformed my expectations

Jumping on this from a 6inch all mountain dualie makes me feel like I could ride Jacobs ladder in one breath! I picked this up at the same time as buying the Riprock Expert 24 purely to pump out flat k's with the kids but I'm thinking I could chuck out some serious xc mileage with a few minor mods. It rides effortless, steering feedback is sharp and the weight is well balanced over the chain ring. Standard tyres are fantastic. The thing will benefit from a dropper, tubeless upgrade and some grips and honestly think it will ride as well as a bike twice its value. When it comes time to service the bb I will likely swap it out but otherwise this thing has not disappointed!
