2020 Turbo Vado 4.0

It's a busy world out there, and the sad thing is, it's getting faster all of the time. That's why we recommend faster bikes for busy lives, like the Turbo Vado 4.0. It takes our award-winning and exclusive technology and tailors it to a package that's designed for getting you around your day-to-day life quicker than ever before. It's you, only faster.

Beginning with the integrated Specialized 1.2 motor, the Turbo Vado proves itself as the ultimate city bike. The 1.2 motor features a silent operating design with our Custom Rx Street Tune that takes the output and makes it the most usable for an urban environment. Think of it this way: The more power you put out, the more power the motor puts out, and this makes accelerations from a standstill both quick and efficient. The belt driven motor is also smooth, silent, and free of annoying vibrations. And the max speed? 28mph.

For the Vado 4.0, we developed a custom Specialized U1-500 battery that seamlessly integrates into the frame, is lockable, and easily removable for simplified charging. In other words, there's plenty of juice to take you to and from work, a trip to the grocery store, or even to that new café on the other side of the city. If you wish to see exactly how far you can go on a charge, have a look at our Turbo Range Calculator for more exact estimates.

The new wired Turbo Connect Display (TCD-w) is the best way to view data on your Turbo. It not only displays important ride metrics (speed, cadence, rider power, distance, battery level, time, etc.), it also allows you to connect the latest version of the Mission Control App for an enhanced Turbo experience. With our free app for iOS and Android phones, you easily customize motor parameters, control your range, record/upload rides, and perform basic system diagnosis.

To top off all of the innovative features, we chose a worry-free spec that features Shimano 10-speed components, hydraulic disc brakes, front/rear lights, and fender & rack mounts.

I would buy this bike again but....

Both my wife and I bought the Vado 4.0. Excellent product and very happy with it except the front fender fell off both of them and got damaged. We understand we are getting new fenders, but they either have to fix the front fender mounting system of the rider should remove the front fender completely. Having a front fender come off at speed would not be good. We will likely be replacing both with the new 33lb Vado SL because of the weight difference.

Now I can keep up with my wife

After several years of arriving last and quietly accepting her hopeful looks of better performance, I found the Vado 4.0. Hills no longer make me sweat before I get there, flat runs I pass her with a gleeful look over my shoulder. You saved my marriage. Unfortunately she is making me buy her one.

Love my Turbo Vado 4.0

Over 400 miles so far, no problems. I estimate my range at 60 miles. I ride in mostly flat areas with a few hills. Heavy to pedal with no assist, but I pedal in first level all the time except going uphill or into a big headwind. Recommended.

Like it a lot but.....

This is my fitness bike and I love it. I get a great workout without the soul crushing slowness of the hills in my area. Can keep up in group rides no longer the no rider left behind. When I got the bike the headlamp was loose on the front fender and kept vibrating. Headlight vibrated off during my 3rd ride going 10 mph causing the fender to get ripped off the bike and the headlight almost getting caught in the spokes. Took it to the shop and they replace the fender and reinstalled the light but it is still loose. Waiting for a solution.

Awesome Bike!

I just retired at age 64 and I wanted a bike that would be fun to ride and have the power to go against the wind with little effort.. I live on the southwest side of Chicago near Beverly. The neighborhood has steep inclines on a few streets and I can go up the streets with ease. The Vado is a excellent bike. The build is superb, the brakes are excellent, shifting is smooth, and the electric assist is out of this world. I feel like a kid again when I ride this bike. I researched e bikes and I am so glad I choose the Vado. One more note, I am very happy with the service and sales at Kozy bike shop on 219 Erie . They are very friendly and exemplary. I am one happy customer!

The very best E-Bike on the market .

I have the Turbo Vado 2 and the Turbo Vado 3 . I like to keep 2 so I can still ride when one is being serviced. I have 3000 miles on one and 2000 on the other and both have served me well. I have also ridden Trek dual sport and there is no comparison. The Turbo Vado is more powerful. I will always own one as long as I can ride. I only wish there were a trade-in program so I can always up grade. Right now my Vado 3 is 3 years old and Vado 2 is 2 years old.

occasional problems with other bikes...and not this one

I originally bought a turbo x on deep discount....it had repeated warranty issues and was given this one as a warranty replacement. It has served like a champ for roundly 1k miles so far with no issues arising that were not expected (i live in nola and the roads have potholes literally the size of a car) this thing is fantastic
