I am a heavy rider (~240lbs) so I usually destroy bikes. I am nearing the 5k miles mark on my stock allez elite with no issues whatsoever. It still rides like the day I got it. The only maintenance I have had to do was just the monthly scrub, lube and tune. I have taken it on all terrain, even climbing in the Smokey Mountains, and it has endured all weather conditions. 100% recommend, amazing bike!

Bought this bike 2 summers ago after a lot of research and the consensus I observed was that this bike is the best value for what you pay when it comes entry level riding... after 2 full seasons of riding, I can confidently agree that this bike is great all around. It feels stiff, stable under high speeds and cornering, and can be set up with a great aggressive geometry. It may not be full carbon, but it quickly proved its quality on the road.

I replace my 2011 Allez with a 2018 Allez Elite. Have had the bike around 6 weeks and have ridden around 600 miles on it. Really pleased with the comfort, speed and handling. I use this for commuting to work as well as club rides and think Specialized have got the right balance between performance and reliability. I had ridden it in the freak hot Irish summer when the rain stopped for at least a week and then again when normal service resumed and the rain came back. Great bike for commuting and club, highly recommended.

I'm new to road bikes, so this review isn't based on a lot of prior expertise. I have been riding about 20 miles a day for a long time as a commuter. I've also been putting in more and more ""distance"" rides (distance here meaning 30/40 miles - that might not qualify as a distance ride for some....) and recently completed a metric century event on my very old, heavy hybrid bike. Looking around at each rest stop, I saw that I was quite literally the ONLY one not riding a road bike. I knew it was time to invest, and so I started looking at what was available. I'm a musician, and I didn't have $3,000-5,000 for a new bike. I knew I would be looking for ""entry level"" bikes, but I wanted to get something well made and reliable with decent components, not something so cheap it would fall apart on me. And so I researched and quickly found that the Allez series bikes were consistently ranked in the top buys for their respective price points. I tried a few other bikes before making my way to the local bike shop that carries Specialized. The other bikes I tested were right in the same price range - $1,000-1,350. When I rode the Allez Elite, I have to say it was head and shoulders above the rest in ride quality, acceleration, handling and just pure FUN! I went ahead and purchased it and after my first real ride, I am even more pleased with it! It handles beautifully! Again, I'm coming from previous experience on a heavy older hybrid, but after testing a number of bikes, I really feel the Allez Elite stands out in its price point! It is a great introduction to road biking, and a bike that I'm confident will serve me quite well for years to come. If I'm ever looking at joining the Tour de France, maybe I'll have to upgrade, but until then this is all the bike I'm likely to need!
