    Stumpjumper Comp Alloy 27.5

    Icon

    2020 Stumpjumper Comp Alloy 27.5

The Stumpjumper Comp Alloy 27.5 combines the balanced stiffness and incredible precision of our sidearm frame design with a 12-speed SRAM NX Eagle drivetrain. The end result is a bike that outperforms its price tag by a wide margin.

    THE ULTIMATE TRAIL BIKE

The innovative sidearm frame design makes a lighter, better-handling bike. By directly connecting all three mounting points of the rear-end and shock to the frame, we’ve increased both stiffness and performance over bumps.

    PERFECTLY-BALANCED SUSPENSION

Our in-house suspension-tuning team develops custom shock tunes, perfectly paired to each bike’s kinematics. We call this Rx Tune and while it’s not the easy way to build a suspension bike, it’s worth it. You feel Rx Tune as perfectly-balanced suspension. Total control.

    MASSIVE BANG FOR YOUR BUCK

    • Sidearm frame design offers balanced stiffness and precise handling.

    • FOX DPS Performance rear shock delivers perfectly-dialed rear suspension.

    • NX Eagle 12-speed drivetrain gives you single-ring simplicity and gearing to spare.

    Brilliant Bike

Great in corners, amazing on jumps and flow lines and handles tech very well. The best bike.

    Awesome bike, but...

Bought this bike when it came out. Went from a Ripley LS to the Stumpy Comp 27.5. Handling is great, but the bottom bracket is just too low for where I ride. I've already destroyed one pair of pedals and just yesterday had an out of nowhere pedal strike that resulted in a serious crash. I'm in the normal position on flip chip and 25% sag. I've been riding for a long time and consider myself competent (former Cat1 DH racer). But pedal strikes are the summary of my relationship with this bike. Roots, rocks, strikes. Over it. Otherwise it's a great bike, handles well and a simple pad upgrade on the guide brakes made them work really well without having to spend a ton on new ones. Eagle NX is ok, 12-speed is great. Overall I'm happy with the value of the bike... it's solid.

    Great bike, terrible brakes

This bike is well built and Is extremely Fun to ride. The only weakness is the brakes. I just bought a Specialized Stumpjumper aluminum comp that came with Guide R brakes. I gave them a good shot, but I opted to pay almost $500.00 to upgrade the brakes on my brand new Stumpjumper. That's how bad the SRAM brakes were compared to Shimano. I replaced them with the Shimano Diore XT brakes and I couldn't be happier. Everyone in the bike industry says the same thing... the SRAM brakes are soft and the Shimano brakes stop on a dime. Do yourself a favor and stay away from the Guide R brakes! I hope Specialized considers Shimano brakes next year.
