THE MISSION:At Specialized we feel it is our responsibility to give back to our communities and our industry. We have long been involved in some amazing organizations that have helped change the face of cycling such as; IMBA, Bikes Belong, Susan G Komen for the Cure, and the National Interscholastic Cycling Association. But for us this isn't enough. To make a bigger impact, Specialized and Specialized Retailers are teaming up to be more involved at a community and local level. Our advocacy efforts are focused on four key areas:
Promoting a healthier lifestyle, Specialized is geared to help charities and advocacy efforts that are focused on improving the health and wellness of our population. We strive to support charities and causes involving cycling as a catalyst for change.
Promoting cycling from the very beginning, Specialized is focused on charities and advocacy efforts that are exclusively dedicated to putting young people on bikes, making cycling safer for kids, or otherwise increasing the cycling population in the "under18" demographic.
The desire for an open road, this focus is for charities and advocacy efforts that are increasing the number of miles of available trails, bike pathways, and other safe bike routes available to cyclists. This may also include the dedication of quality and conditions of existing routes and trails as well as maintaining their sustainable long-term access.
Join the movement, charities and advocacy supporting efforts that seek to offer education and, or implementation of cycling as a primary or alternative mode of sustainable transportation.
