In one word: Versatility. Equally at home going uphill or down, the Stumpjumper FSR hits the sweet spot on everything from steep climbs to flowy singletrack to technical descents. Light on weight but loaded with technology, the Stumpjumper FSR is nimble yet stable, efficient but burly, and ready for virtually any trail.
WHAT The most successful high performance
suspension system, continually
refined since 1993.
WHY Delivers unsurpassed comfort, control,
and efficiency—less effort on climbs,
more traction on the descent.
HOW Strategic pivot points decouple suspension
from drivetrain and braking forces to
eliminate bob and squat, creating a fully
active, fully independent system.
WHAT Fork/hub interface featuring Specialized
OS (oversized) end caps.
- OS 28 end caps are compatible with
Roval wheels and Specialized or
RockShox forks; modified version
OS 24 caps available for FOX forks
WHY Increases front-end stiffness,
which gives riders more control and
confidence while riding technical
terrain or pedaling out of the saddle.
HOW A standard hub and fork interface is not
much bigger than the QR axle, which
doesn’t provide a lot of surface area to
support this critical junction. The OS
end caps increase that surface area to
dramatically increase stiffness while
still utilizing a superlight QR axle.
Brain Rear Shock
WHAT Externally tunable, trail-sensing rear
shock—pioneered by Specialized
and manufactured by FOX.
WHY Boosts efficiency and control over
smooth and rough terrain.
HOW When a rider encounters bump forces, the
Brain’s inertia valve disengages, allowing
oil to flow and the shock to immediately
transition from firm (efficient) to fully
active (compliant) suspension settings.
The external Brain Fade dial allows riders
to fine tune their suspension levels.
FACT IS Construction
WHAT Our most advanced carbon
construction method, used
on all carbon Stumpjumpers.
WHY Makes our Stumpjumpers the
lightest and stiffest in their class,
without sacrificing strength.
HOW Divides front triangle into two
monocoques—with carbon fibers
running continuously from tube to
tube—for more precise optimization
of tube shapes, sizes, and joints.
WHAT Customized tube manufacturing applied
to all M5 alloy Stumpjumpers.
WHY Creates a stronger, lighter
bike with clean lines.
HOW High pressure fluid is forced through
each tube to eliminate welds and
achieve more precise tube shaping.
