POSITION: Equipment Product Marketing Specialist
REPORTS DIRECTLY TO: Chief Brand Officer

SUMMARY:
This role is an integral part of the product teams and acts as an important bridge between rider feedback and product requirements. This role is responsible for bringing insights to the product teams and helping to ensure that the finished product meets rider expectations while supporting the company's overall strategic goals. This role is also responsible for linking the product team to Global Marketing, SBCU and Retail Services. These areas of responsibility will be accomplished by conducting market research, staying closely involved with the product teams and working with Design, Product Management, Engineering, Sales, Marketing & support to ensure that the final product is true to the original vision in performance, aesthetics and messaging.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Identify relevant rider segments & motivations as pertains to cycling equipment.
2. Stay involved in product development process to make sure products are tracking to rider and market needs.
3. Develop messaging and means of delivering messages to reach riders to stimulate business.
4. Drive communication across teams – Product Development, Global Marketing, Retail Services, SBCU, Sports Marketing; excellent communications skills both written and verbal a must.
5. Lead development and delivery of product presentations.
6. Domestic and international travel will be required. Could be up to 50% of the time.
7. Assist Equipment Product Managers in developing and creating industry leading equipment collateral including dealer book, web, etc.
8. Liaison with editorial including sending equipment to magazines for review.
9. Research & provide objective data on marketing opportunities for specific equipment models or whole equipment categories.


EXPERIENCE:
1. Have several years experience working in bicycle retail sales.
2. Vast knowledge of products and components.
3. Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Marketing.
4. At least 2 years of Marketing Experience a plus.
